vitamin B problems

The following link was given on the National OP Foundation forum in reply to a question about whether someone could have a B12 deficiency, because of the classical neurological symptoms the person was having, yet his blood count appeared normal.
I did not understand it all and it was a bit scary in parts but in my opinion very useful information to store away as it would appear many doctors are not aware if this.

All doctors and lab staff should view it.

Thanks Elna, that's very interesting, and to me, a pescetarian in her late 50s, quite scary.
I agree, all doctors should see this!0 -
Hi, sorry to hear you have been feeling so bad but I'm glad I've found this thread. I have been having lots of problems with mouth (painful lumps on tougne and ulcers) feeling more tired than usual and weird dizzy and vision spells. The doctor I have been seeing in the maxofacial department mentioned vitamin b12 and anemia and sent me for bloods.
I didn't get the bloods done on Friday so I need to get that done this week.
hope u start to feel better soon there is nothing worse than being exhausted with arthritis
take care0 -

Yep, all doctors should watch this. I feel like sending this link to my local surgery and hospital but do not quite dare! I learnt a new word just now! Pescetarian. I ADORE fish but have gone off shell fish because in the past it has not agreed with me, with disastrous symptoms, albeit for a short while, but most unpleasant while it lasted.
Enjoy the day

Hey Tom
You just solved a little query for me, thank you! Ive had mouth ulcers, been breathless and started going dizzy whilst also being tired. The doc queried anaemia but I kind of just ignored it...maybe he was right!
Tony, still thinking of you and your red injections, hope they soon kick in. Love LV xxHey little fighter, things will get brighter0 -
Bless you all..
I'm still the same at the minute. Sleeping pretty much the whole time. Barely eating still
I've kicked myself up the bum today and got out of the house. Visiting grandma right now. She's very down. .
She's on a dementia ward and the natives are restless. Lol
We don't think grandma actually has dementia. She's just old and forgetful.
Dementia is a dreadful thing. The poor folks on here. .
I'll look at that Link Elna. Thanks hun.
You are all very kind.
Oh, also, I've had a really sore tongue lately. Probably all connected.
Had two injections so far, third one tomorrow.Me-Tony

Dear Tony
One of the patients on the link mentions a swollen tongue along with a host of other ailments and symptoms.
I truly feel for you as so many of your symptoms appear to be linked to Vit B12 deficiency, since I watched the whole 45 minutes of the link, not understanding all of it as I mentioned before but, what an eye opener.
I so hope that it gets sorted for you very soon, you do not deserve this, no one does and doctors MUST be made aware of B12 and what happens when patients become deficient in it.
Bless you
Love

you are a luv Elna.
I admit, I've yet to watch the video as I've been sleeping lol
I've just had my latest injection. . And got some surprising news. .
I thought that after these injections I would be ok. .
No.. that would be too easy.
I will now be on these for the rest of my life. Usually monthly ones. . Shocked does not begin to cover it
Oh bugger it... :xMe-Tony

The friend I wrote about earlier, who has pernicious anaemia, has to have these for life, too. Before diagnosis he was, literally, dying. About 12 years on, with his jabs and a good diet, he's fit and well.
This is why I keep nagging you that you must eat  It's not a matter of appetite but of fuel for the body. You can eat very healthily with little or no preparation.
Here endeth the latest nag from SW to tjtIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh Tony, no wonder you feel shocked! That is just what you didn't want to hear. I just hope the injections work, and you begin to feel better. You deserve a break!

That sucks finding you have to be on them for the rest of your life Tony but, hopefully, they will make you feel much better. Please look after yourself though, as the others have said.Christine0

thank you all.
I am doing my best to eat as much as i can. Managed two chicken thighs for tea..
I also had my blood test today, nurse said that she thinks I am anaemic judging by the blood... Will know more in a few days.
I am just sooo bloody tired.. I know that I need to knock the self pity off but this has been a bit of a shock..
You are all lovely lovely people..
Thanks again.

Dear Toni
The not eating much is another symptom. One lady on the link said that she felt hungry and after a couple of mouthfuls of food could not eat anymore. The awful tiredness and sleeping most of the time is another one. Poor you, my heart really goes out to you. It is dreadful that you have been deteriorating in this manner with all these symptoms and no one realised what the problem was presumably because of their lack of knowledge about the importance of B12.
Love

thanks Mig, Elna..
I did watch a bit of that Link, but due to lack of concentration couldn't make it through the whole thing. It's pretty interesting though eh? And amazing what trouble it can cause.
I'm getting confused a fair bit too.. Dreams are very realistic and weird at the same time.
My whole upper body is tingling, especially my face.. very strange feeling.
Thank you again.
I'll try to keep popping in.
