Well...not really good. No more treatment just going to keep an eye on me. I did point out that it really needs sorting before it spreads but he says this isn't always the case. Lymph glands under left arm could easily be taken away...now I'm sort of wondering if he is waiting for it to get bigger...more so an op would be easier.
I certainly didn't give him an easy time but it was difficult getting any staightforward answer from him.
So now I wait. Next appoinment September but I am going to push for a second opinion.
Thanks to everyone for their support and of course the choccy.
Now waiting for call from Lynn(occy nurse) I saw her yesterday but she can't say much in front of him so she said she'd ring during her break.
I'm sure you know how much your appreciated but if not you are a fantastic crowd and I think about you all a lot. Love May xx0 -
Hello May. Am sorry to hear your appointment wasn't too brilliant and from what you have said I think it is a good idea to get a 2nd opinion. Hope your phone call from your nurse is helpful. Take care of yourself. Beryl ((((())))) x0

Hi May
I'm so sorry you had a difficult appointment yesterday
I hope the nurse rings you with some advice
I also agree with you abut a second opinion at the end of the day it's your body you know it better than the consultant what's going on
I also agree he might be waiting for it to get bigger but it might be for a different reason only known to him
You need answers to your questions not getting fobbed off
Let us know what the nurse says
Keep strong sending a hug (((((( )))))

I'm pretty sure that wasn't what you wanted to hear, May, and I think a second opinion would be a good idea.
Having said that, They couldn't get at all my lymph glands after my breast cancer or give me radiation on the ones left because of the arthritis in the shoulder. Twenty odd years later I'm still here.
I hope your occy nurse can help.
Meanwhile ((((()))))If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Update....Lynn has told me there is a new oncologist(a woman) who I can see if I want. Appointment coming in post.
Also a friend of mine has broken her pelvis so I was visiting today and called in to see the girls in the Macmillan office.....never seen them before but they were great.Because of this Brac gene I should be having mamagrams at least yearly but it will be 2 years since I had one next month so that is now getting sorted.
I have mentioned this to the onco but he is so frightened of the breast man according to him its not his area.As far as I'm concered its all connected.
I don't feel ill with this cancer its just the thought of it being there. Now I'm going to arrange a blood test as this is the only way I know anything and obviously I need to know as I don't have the written scan reports.
Now its a waiting game again. At least I know something is happening as I do trust Lynn.
I really appreciate all your support......thank you. Love May xx0 -
Hello May. I typed you a message but it seems to have vanished! Thank you for the update. Am pleased to know you are making some progress. Let us know how you get on. Take care of yourself. Beryl ((((())))) x0

Oh!! May, I am so glad you have got Lynn!!, she sounds so switched on and am sooo pleased you are getting to see this new onco. A couple of my friends have this gene and religiously get a mammogram done every year.
I can't understand what your onco is all about and frightened of the breast man  having only joined the forum months ago I don't know all your history May, but, ye gods if one doctor can't talk to another god help us.
May, I hope your new onco will keep you more informed and be able to suggest other treatment if necessary and most of all listen...........take care pet we are all here behind you ...........Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
