Thanks toots
Yeah, I totally agree & I've been thinking about it ... I think he's prescribed it for just the flare. I checked online & my repeat hasn't changed from ibuprofen. If not I'll definitely make sure they know if I'm restarted on mtx!!
I had about 5 hours sleep last night, bliss compared to the 60mins at a time I've been getting!!The naproxen has definitely helped, I'm so relieved!x

So happy to hear you had a relatively decent sleep! Makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it!
Thinking about it, I'm sure I read in another thread about someone taking both mtx and naproxen......Toots x0 -
Sleep is huge for me having fm!! A large part of it is thought to be connected to so little stage 4 sleep & being an insomniac who suffers with debilitating fatigue makes life really hard!!
Hmmm I'll still discuss it for safetyx

Hi Debbie;
Glad the naproxen is working a little for you and you are getting a bit more sleep!
I believe the theory regarding methotrexate and naproxen is that naproxen makes mtx hang around in the kidney a little longer and thus increases it's toxicity to kidney tissue. There are also a few studies finding this effect is minimal :? .
Definitely discuss with your doc regarding the current medical data, especially if you go back on a high dose of mtx, and/or, if you already have kidney issues.
