Hi Toni
Thanks for your reply
Work have re arranged the meeting and Occ health appointments , and told me not to worry about the comment about them being charged.
I slept quite well thanks to the diazepam I am walking a bit easier today but keep getting sudden `shocks` of pain from my back just to remind me it is still there!
Mr NB has gone back to work today, he took yesterday off (the joys of self employment). The teens are still at home until tomorrow /Thursday when college and school are back. So I have some company, albeit `grunty` teen variety!!
I have to see the GP tomorrow, not the one i would have chosen but it was a short notice appointment.
Thanks again

Hi NB
You are really having a hard time of it at the moment.
You must be so disappointed after having been ready to go to occ health
Never mind.....Next week will come
Meantime you take care and keep on top of the pain as much as possible
Oromorph or morp slow release as I had for a time {fractured SI joint and pelvis} is a wonderful drug
Love

Thanks Hileena
I am taking slow release morphine morning and night and have the Oromorph for in between if/when I need it. It is good though, but I think it`s the Diazepam that is helping the most at the moment.
I had got myself ready emotionally for the Occ health assessment, and will have to get my head round it again next week.
I am never the most patient of people and want to know what the future holds NOW!!
Take care x

Sorry to see what a rough time you are having. To be honest an occ health assessment would be pretty pointless in your current state anyway and so you would have been wasting their time even if you had struggled there. Stupid bureaucrats. Maybe next time you should plan your back spasms better to fit in with them?
Seriously though I know how awful back pain can be. All I could bear to do was take all the drugs I could and sleep! Mind you I had a hard time getting anything more than tramadol out of my docs! I hope you get an MRI and some help soon.

Hi and thankyou Joan, and Frogmella
I am in pain with the spasms again today. I have my GP appointment at 11, so I will see what he says. Not a lot I guess, not much he can do for my poor back.
My daughter has gone off for her first day at college to do A levels. She was so excited about it all , and it made me happy to see her happy.
I hope everyone is feeling ok x

Hi
sorry in the delay in updating about my GP appointment. I was seen by GP and a student. He thinks my disc/s has slipped out. He adjusted my painkillers and told me take the Oromorph regularly and added Gabapentin in for good measure! He made an urgent referral to the Back clinic in the MSK department. So my Mum drove me to the clinic that afternoon. I waited in much discomfort , and was seen by a physio who didn`t examine me, but I had to fill in 2 forms about my pain and history. I had to draw different markings on a body map to illustrate my pain, pins & needles., aches, etc.... then was told I would receive an urgent review appointment.
OK still waiting......... urgent???
I am in a lot of pain still, struggling with finding a comfortable position. Sitting hurts, walking hurts, lying hurts.
Fed up is not even close to how I feel!!!

hi my sympathys are with you, as i have constant spasms up the centre of my spine my consultant said it was just extra top up of pain i am in your pocket when you get urgent appointment good luck. destiny0

Oh Nearly
Well your Gp and student did a good job there. They did what they could to help and I hope you hear sooner than you expect from the back clinic.
Hopefully the appointment you had will have indicated to them just what agony you are in.
'Fed up' won't describe how you feel, I totally understand. Does heat help at all?? I find it good with my back (bad with other joints though???).
Funny you should say sitting lying and walking all hurt. Once post op I was told to sit a little walk a little and lie down a little....
I wish I could help properly
Love and ((()))

I'm glad your gp listened and got things moving, but this waiting nonsense is frustrating! Hoping you get your review through fast, Nearly. xToots x0

So sorry to hear your having an awful time with pain and spasms NB. I hope you find some relief from the pain with the Oromorph & Gabapentin on top of your other meds. Take care and rest as best as you can. (())0
