That's very good news, Maria. I am pleased.

    Hi Maria,

I have PM'd you but it seems to be stuck in my out box and I can't seem to shift it. I have to go out but will try again later when I get back.

    Take care, Petals xx

    Hi Petals,
Thank you I got your PM only 3 times
I think I'm coming down with a cold Grrr
So I've stayed at home today as we are uni hunting for my son and my daughter was coming too
So rather than expose her to my nasty germs I've stayed at home
Plus she's more clued up on the uni scene as she in her second years studying psychology which my son also wants to do but his grades won't be as good as hers she got A* A A so she had her pick of top unis which he's capable in getting but he's not as dedicated so he's pitching at the ones in his predicted grade boundaries but if he gets higher he wants to go through clearing and go to hers so fingers crossed
All this uni lark is way above me! I went to a school of nursing many moons ago and now you need to go to uni to get a degree in nursing!
So. Now just chilling and when I've sorted the sky box out that my cat sits on and presses buttons changing programmes, she's stopped my sky remote working no idea how! Grrr, I'm heading for a relaxing bath! Hope I don't get stuck in it like SW!!

Our boiler went 'phut' on Thursday - it's a combi so yes, we lost everything too which wasn't fun. It's up and running now, I didn't mind the lack of heating but no hot water was a faff. :( I hope yours can be easily sorted, with ours it was the circuit board. DD

    Hi DD
Me thinks its a full boiler and central heating system as its the original one so over 30 years old
We have had numerous pumps but that only solves it for awhile so enough s enough!
    Time for a new one
Hubby won't be impressed when he gets back from uni hunting
At least we have an electric shower so can stay warm and clean there!

I'm not sure about this but I think there are grants or summat available to help with the cost? I know that Tkachev posted some links on Jenzie06's thread but I honestly cannot remember what they were. I am going to buy another halogen heater, the sole one we have was worth its weight in gold but I can no longer lug it round the house. DD

PS Halogens also look cheerful, their sunny colour is warming in itself.

    Hi DD
Yes you are correct we have a scheme in West Yorkshire but only criteria I have is our boiler is old!
So ringing the company on Monday that my dad used as they also do that scheme so its worth asking but not holding my breath about it

I'm afraid you need to come round with your spanners and brandy
It's given up 100% so its poorly sick
