    Hi Guys

I have no decision yet it is to be sent out in post same as Maria and most likely the same outcome.
I did my very best refused to get stressed about it as that wasn't gonna help me. They asked me again about me at 3 month post op what I did, walked, in the house how long before I sat down and had to move around. If I walked outside in my cul-de-sac they questioned what a cul-de-sac was how many houses...The doctor asked me about using a manual wheelchair how would I manage, I said how could i answer a question I had no answer to it and said to him it was like asking him if he was a dirver of a manual car and had to use auto what would it be like, he agreed and saw my point. They were not nasty and I got up to move around and I got my points in about the examination me suposedly refusing to do things when I was unable - the difference being huge....Anyhow I know the chances without representation are nil but I tried me very best!

    HI Maria

That sounds good but how does it work with the car insurance? I ask only cos looked at voluntary work taking folk to hospital apps but it would have meant me paying extra for car and couldn't afford...Good for you!

    Hi Oldies

Well they see me as fit for work whatever state I'm in...I have already applied for jobs in shops none have replied to me cos I would try to stand for at least a few hours everyday, I could injure myself of course but nobody seems to give a sausage as long as I'm no longer seen as a scrounger!
Good luck with your news coming, keep us updated?

    Hi Oldies
DWP don't care if you can work long term even short term as they base it on the fact you can carry an empty cardboard box!
I was retired through ill health at work and the DWP say I'm fit to work and now I'm unable to claim for any of their benefits
If you can walk any distance even with crutches you are fit for work
I turned up for my tribunal using my one crutch as long long since had foot surgery and I failed my tribunal
As Elaine knows they are crafty devils
Can only hope they side with her but that's unlikely! Hope I'm proved wrong

You are right even if you could crawl somewhere the DWP would still see you as fit for work and fail to see the whole picture only the bright colours glaring at them, never mind the background...
I have not had any mail yet it comes around midday, so will know later today for sure..

    Dear me
That's not good but maybe they were debating what to do so taking longer!
I don't think they realise its our lives they are messing with!

I just want to get the next wheels in motion being a bone fide jobseeker...Just had to apply for a job in Poundland told it would be very physical, hard going but I will most likely be pressurised into something like that...

    Oh Dear!
I'm as you know lucky as I have my little NHS pension
If they made me apply for totally unsuitable jobs I'd go to interview and be totally honest about my sickness record and they wouldn't employ me
They should find jobs that are suitable to your circumstance not one job fits all!
I wish you good luck in job hunting

    Hi Elaine
Thank you I'm ok now just really tired
Its difficult to think what job you can and can't do
I was really stressing when I was going through my ill health application as all I knew for the past 30 years was nursing and could not for the life of me think what else I could do
I did think about working in a pharmacy as I had some knowledge of medications but that was it!
I hope you manage to find a job to suit you
I wish you all the luck in the world
    Maria
