Day 3 Ciclosporin

Hi,
Well it's day 3, as the title suggests.
My large plaques aren't layering skin as rapidly. This is fascinating to me coz I'd normally have a new layer of skin within 4 hours max a process that takes 'normal' people about 28days!! Some of the colour has drained out of them too but they're still very hot, they're also still very itchy which is a surprise as I've always thought it was the layering that caused the itching not the heat ... Live & learn
The pustular hasn't changed at all as yet in fact it's now up both forearms.
It's a decent start for 3 days I think
Thank you all for helping me thru the pain & itching lately (((( ))))

Hi Debbie,
I thought the skin layering and shedding was what caused the itching! Thinking of you and glad you have a little relief from the medication, hoping it will improve quickly.
Trish xx0 -
Sounds like it's going in the right direction-hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deb x0 -
Thank you ladies My fingers are crossed it continues to improve
Trish, thats exactly wot I thought too!! I'm wondering now if the heat plays a bigger part than I've ever realised?!
I must add I have fibromyalgia & one of my many symptoms from that is itchy skin ... Unlucky or wot
It hasn't made any difference to my scalp at all yet but its such early days still.

Hi
I'm glad you are improving although it is slow
Do you suffer any adverse reactions to cyclosporine?
I'm only curious as that might be the next stage of treatment for my daughters ulcerative colitis as nothing at the min seems to be helping
Maria0 -
Hi,
I'm only on 250mg a day at the moment but absolutely no reactions as yet
I really hope it helps her if she does get put on it!!Xx xXHealing Hugs

My Dermatologist is fab
She just rang to see how I'm doing & to check I'm not ill n avoiding hospital
She's pleased my plaques are being helped already but said Ciclosporin is the best treatment for pustular so it will definitely help very soon. She was so reassuring!!
How kind of the Head Clinician of a Dept to care enough to ring a patient at home!! Gives ya a warm glow eh

Wow, there are some lovely medicos out there and it seems you know one of them! I didn't know about the cyclo being good for the pustular (that's what I get on my palms and soles) but my P is being pretty well controlled by the meds I take. I am so pleased that things are getting better, long may it last, yes? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Absolutely DD
*If only it helped the itching too but I'm being greedy now*
I am extremely lucky that I see her, I've been very frustrated in the past wen she took me off of mtx coz I had Glandular Fever. I knew it was for my own safety but the flare was worse than this one I'm in now, I stopped moaning so much once she explained I could end up in ITU with liver problems!!
I'm very grateful that she hasn't given up on me!! It's a shame I don't have the same stability with a Rheumatologist :?

I'm late to this, Debbie, but I, too, am very pleased. I do hope it all continues in this vein.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Debbie,
so glad that you are feeling better. What a wonderful dermatologist, hold on to her!
Trish xx0 -
I intend to Trish ... She's my root to biologics too She's realised, now my rheumy consultant has left early this year, that I'm being totally left to cope with no help from them, bless her!!!
Toots, I'll keep everything crossed. It may be worth ringing & chasing it up

Hi Debbie,
I'm so happy for you I know the misery of psoriasis!
Long may it continue to improve!
Surely you won't be left without a rheumy to support you, is he not being replaced?
Have a great weekend,
Trish xx0 -
Aww that is good news and you deserve a break..long may it continue. xxLove

That is great news Debbie, I did note the time of the post though
I am so glad to hear it is working, your doc does sound great, and as you said she seems to to be picking up the slack for the other guys.
Sometimes you wish you can say more than thank you to these doctors that do that little bit more, calling us at home late at night, researching new medications-chasing up other doctors who have forgot about us.
glad to here you are improving and hopefully resting lots and lots!?!

Blimey, that is wonderful news, I am very pleased for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
