    Sorry, it was of no use to you DD, to be honest i didn't think it would as you have been to far down the line and probably tried all combinations there are and as you say you know your own body and listen to what it is saying, although your pending move is putting extra stress on everything. I did a pain management course a few years ago for my neuropathy unfortunately it did nothing for me, I felt it was more geared for people with arthritis , fibro etc, if you go for it, good luck hope you get something out of it. xx

    PS enjoy the take away
    Smile a while and while you smile
    smile another smile and soon there
    will be miles and miles of smiles
    just because you smiled I wish your
    day is full of Smiles

    Sorry this wasn't much help , DD , suspected it would be so I'm afraid as some of us have learnt our own coping mechanisms over the years . My personal way of dealing with it all is based on the love and care of my husband and family ; it works better for me than anything else .

    I don't mean to bang on but wen I was put on Sr tram it was to replace coco's as its kinder but was told it takes time to build up in the system ... I'm just wondering if that's y they failed you :( Gutted uve had no relief. Of course stress is likely to cause a big Fm flare, sorry to be the bearer of possible bad news :cry:

    I'm already broken & ill so I'm sending you more spoons (only 5, sorry).

    Massive (((((( ))))))

    Oh no, Debbie, they didn't fail me at all - they were effective and helpful but my approach developed to 'The pain is here, it can only be dulled, so save the strong stuff for times of real need and not every-day.' I may regret my letting them get out-of-date (if they are, I haven't checked) because I might be useful next Wednesday (being packed) and Friday (being moved) but, as the champagne is already lined up for next Friday night . . . . . . . . . :wink:

    I read a poster whilst waiting, it said this:

    P = pain
    A = achievement
    I = Involvement
    N = new attitude

    I have the first, I constantly set reasonable targets to gain the second, I am involved on here and hope to join the fibro group and I aquired my new attitude after joining here and learning from those with greater experience and wisdom than me.

    Well that's good to know :)
    Stupidly, I hate the thought of other people struggling with pain but rarely, believe it or not with my posts lately :lol: , care too much about my own!! Like you I know the likelihood of it getting better is slim so just excepting that helps. It's the more & more limited mobility that I struggle mentally with!!

    I think we've both been very lucky that we've had pain management training. I think it can change ure entire outlook, I know it gave me insight & an understanding of wot (mine was Fm based) my body was doing, why & how.

    I think the Champagne sounds like a much better idea than pain meds :wink:

    Love that poster .... It should be the AC slogan :D

    Far be it from me to suggest - but might I suggest you check them now and speak to your gp if they're out of date asap?! You might wish you had them and it would be a horrid state of affairs not to if you need 'em!

    Sorry the clinic wasn't helpful hun, try to rest when you can! Hugs! x

    You are very sensible, Toots, but I don't think I have the time. I can increase the cocos (I stick to four a day which leaves me some wiggle-room) and because I haven't ordered any trammies for so long they have beend dropped from my repeat. The packers are coming next Wednesday. Gulp. :shock: This move is getting horribly real. DD

    Gosh not long now DD I feel for you how much of a struggle it must be and how much it has taken a toll on your body, at least once you get moved there is no time limit to when you need to have everything unpacked I am sure this time next year you will be saying it was well worth it, and hopefully the joints too when having no stairs to climb up and down on a daily basis. You have the clout and determination, good luck to you for the move...............Marie xx
