The bed looks terrific. I've taken a photo and even Mr DD noticed and likes it (it's not too girly). The new duvet is fantastic (wonderfully 'crunchy' which I love) and, oddly, slightly larger than our old duck feather and down. All the bedding is 100% cotton. I can't wait to go to bed tonight. So are you having an early night tonight DD? Your bed sounds very inviting. Have you started your jigsaw? I'm about halfway through a wasgij? Another week should do it.Christine0

We need some rugby games to watch then we can drift off to sleep and dream our dreams while the lump lying next to us snores and bottom burps.(((()))) Mig0

Wakey WAKEY!!!If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Wow. What a difference, the duvet is bigger yet lighter and warmer. He didn't need the extra fleece blanket and I maintained a fairly steady body temp for most of the night for the first time in years. I will be buying two more (one double and one king) for our spare beds. Ours cost just under £40 and I thoroughly recommend it - if you would like the details please PM me and I'll tell you from whence it came.
Today we have been mostly unpacking and I have ironed nine shirts. I am done for. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Great news DD......glad it has been such a help
9 shirts  even before I had arthritis that would have done me in Hate shirts

So do I. They are lovely shirts though, good quality cotton and they come up well (which is satisfying). How sad am I? (Don't answer that! ) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I can relate to the shirt thing DD, not sad at all!
It occurs to me that the pattern of your movements these days is different and that might be part of the reason for the pain? I suspect that there is much more pottering now due to being on one level, rather than bursts of effort(aka stairs) followed by 'rest' of some form? That will take some adjusting to, and I think you mentioned a change of footwear also? Speaking as someone whose scoliosis has given me a couple of interesting extra twists to my spine and an off-kilter pelvis I'm all too aware that changing the way we use our bodies can have some odd and unpleasant effects, which can exacerbate or be exacerbated by other conditions such as arthritis.
I'm pleased to hear the new duvet is a success, comfort in bed is so important. I hope the better quality rest will help other things settle.0 -
Oh Daffy, nail and head without a doubt! What a thought-provoking post (and I apologise for my late reply to it). I think you are right, I am using my rubbishy body in a very different way and yes, that is causing some troubles (says she who has just applied another layer of Voltarol to her aching back and hip - the joy of movement my Joe Royle  ).
We had our new suite delivered yesterday and that necessitated some pushing and shoving of side tables plus bending and stretching to plug in extension leads and lamps. Ouch. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Morning DD
You will be sore after sorting the room out.
Stretch out on that setee and don't move {unless you have to} today
I liked voltoral but cant take it now as I'm on a full dose of naproxen.
I use pernaton.......good but not as good as voltarol.

So today would be the perfect time to put that new suite through its paces. I can see you now, languidly lounging on the sofa, glass of wine in hand, snacks strategically placed on your carefully positioned side table.............
Numpty0 -
No wine stains on the new suite
Hileena0 -
The sofa lounging will take place this afternoon when I shall jigsaw to the gentle accompaniment of Father Brown. This morning has been taken up by opening my new Kindle Fire (gulp), hanging some pictures just to get them out of the way, sorting out a repeat prescription, tidying all the spare extension gangs into one bag, doing some washing and now I have to clear the kitchen sides. Every surface is cluttered - I don't know how I manage to do it but I do. I'm a clutter magnet. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I have heard that some people get paid for cluttering surfaces - they call it dressing a room.0

DD you have been extremely busy. Hope you tested the new suite well this afternoon.Christine0

Hi,
As per, more apologies for my absence, having a rough time & I'm bored of my problems so enough said
That doesn't sound too restful DD? The new Kindle does but not the rest, I do wish you'd stick to that, a good book to read & feet up on the new sofa. Ure hip & back deserve it
((((Hugs))))
