I have made an appointment with the GP to see if he will inject both knees again. It didn't really help last time but I'm really struggling with knee pain at the minute so I'm willing to try it again. Please cross your arthritic fingers for me.

I also rang the pain clinic to have the radio lesion treatment on the nerves in my lower back repeated as that really works well. She said that I would have to wait till after August :o
I asked my GP last week if he would fax them and explain how desperate I am for this doing again.
The 1st time I had it done it worked for over a year so when I rang to have it done a second time I was told that because it was over a year I would have to be re referred from the GP.. So this time I thought that I was doing the right thing asking early as it's only been about ten months. . Oh no. . Have to be re referred yet again
I just hope that they can get me in soon. I've also said that I will take a cancellation.

Wish me luck lol

Sorry things are rough, Tony. Do we assume the hydro (and acupuncture?) didn't help, then?

I don't know how Pain Clinics work. Maybe it's a bit like physio ie either you're currently signed up with them or you've to get to the back of the queue. And / or maybe, like steroid injections, there are some limits as to how often it's safe to do this procedure.

    Best of luck.

    Thanks girls :D

Sticky. The hydro was only a 6 week course. I was supposed to go straight back to see my physio to see what I do next and was going to ask if I could do more hydro. She's gone on long term sick and now Chapel Allerton are very low on staff so I'm having to go to Jimmys  not a fan. . Will see what they say. I think I go in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know what they say. I didn't have any acupuncture in the end. I was going to go on a course where they do that as well as some other treatments but I'm not well enough to commit to something like that and think the space could be used by someone else.

As far as I know the radio lesion can be repeated however many times I need it. It's more a case of the pain clinic being extremely busy.

    Xx

    Thanks Babs
The very first time I had my knees done it was wonderful. For the first time in over 30yrs my knees didn't hurt. It was like a miracle lol.. Didn't last long though
After that I had them done again and nothing. . Not a thing. I think I had them done a third time and it helped a little bit.
    So we shall see eh?

I hope you get the injections Tony - and that they help your poor knees. I think sometimes they work and sometimes they don`t , so fingers (metaphorically ) crossed.

Just got home from the GP'S. Had both knees injected with steroids. . Hopefully that will help as they have both been very painful lately.
Now I'm back on mi bed. Will give them plenty of time to rest. Let the steroids get into all the nooks and crannies. . Lol
The right one was ok but the left one  that one has a lot of scar tissue in it... that kinda stung somewhat

Had both wrists and both elbows scanned. Have inflammation around the tendons in both elbows and bone erosion  was not expecting him to say that lol.
He injected both elbows after the scans. . I really hope that helps. The injections were quite painless to be honest but boy do they hurt now.. I can hardly move them. He did say they would get worse before they get better.. I've heard that before lol.
I'm exhausted now. Had no sleep last night due to the back pain :x think I need a kip..

Thanks for all of your replies. They mean more than you know :D

Thank you Sloshiness. I actually slept really well last night. I think I must have been that exhausted. . I must have anyway because if I had have been moving about I would have woken myself up. Every time I moved my right elbow exploded in pain so I reckon I was comatose lol.
My left elbow has settled down altogether now but the right one still smarts somewhat lol. I couldn't even brush my teeth with the right hand as I couldn't raise the arm high enough. I reckon the more it hurts now the better it'll work  let's hope eh?

Hope that the steroid jabs work Tony, I had one a few months ago but to no effect. My gp didn't tell me to rest the leg so I trotted off to do some shopping straight after the jab so maybe that was why :o

    Hi bridesmum.
It's always best to rest the joint after injection. Gives the steroids time to settle in etc.. I usually give it up to 48hrs.

I think the injections are helping. My knees and elbows seem to have settled. Just a little so far lol

This morning I seem to be having a real bad flare up though   My whole body is hurting and aching. I took my wife to work 1st thing this morning and kinda knew things weren't right but hoped that if I came back to bed it would be ok after a rest.
I am really hurting at the minute. Even my fingers hurt. . Let's hope it is just a small flare. . Got to go to Skeggy in the morning lol.

Thanks for the reply hun. :D
