Forum down
On 25th October there will be no access to the forum. This is because the AC website has been updated and goes 'live' on the 26th.
We have been told there will be no changes to the forum, but there may be a few glitches- please report these as soon as you spot them
Thanks

UPDATE
I've just got this
The live date has now changed to Wednesday 28th October. The Forum will be unavailable from 5.30pm on Monday 26th October until we go live on Wednesday.
You know as much as I :zombie-cat: I don't believe there will be much change to the actual forum itself so I'm hoping it will be quite straightforward for us

Thanks again for keeping us up to date

Firstly it's good to have you back, thank you for working so quickly!
Secondly, no matter how small I have the print on my screen the topics and replies are so wide I am having to zig-zag backwards and forwards to read them. Hopefully this is just a glitch.
Thirdly, although I have relatively good eyesight the new colours are for me wishy-washy and it's hard to distinguish between read and un-read topics. :?
Fourthly, it is good to have the forum back, thank you! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi
Its great to have the forum back but I agree. Its dreadful to try and read the messages. Scrolling back and forward all the time
Mods please tell us this is teething problems

This is proving interesting! I can see the posts(although agree with DD about lack of colour contrast) but couldn't see a way to post a reply until I clicked on an empty box which should have been for 'next'(page). With any luck things will settle down quickly, and I do appreciate the efforts you will be making to get this right - it can be a pretty thankless task.
I'm not finding problems with display of messages - looks the same - just missing 'operational' bits like those mentioned above.
Thought the new look AC website was good - clear, uncluttered, and pleasant colour scheme.0 -
It's great to have the Forum back - thank you.
Will give more feedback next week but my gut reaction is a comment on the colours of the topics. I have to agree with DD in that they're not as easy to read now. Can they please go back to black text?
Thank you.

Hi Mods,
Thanks for the update.
Just to note that the 'Reply' button isn't clear on my screen and there isn't a 'Quote' button at all. I run on Windows 7 ...will this make a difference.
I agree with the others the contrast in using a grey ink isn't very clear and wouldn't be good for members who are visually impaired. I will add that do like the font type used.
These are obviously tweaks which you still need to adjust.

Hi Lindalegs
We've passed on the issue relating to the clarity of grey writing on a grey background.
The improper display of forum buttons is due to your computer still holding older versions of bits of the message board in its cache.
You can try to force the browser to update the display by refreshing the page once its loaded. If this doesn't work, try the cache clearing procedure at http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/ and following the instructions for your system.
All best wishes

Thanks Mod B I'll try that. The other thing is I don't have is an 'Edit' button but that too may come up when I've adjusted the 'Cache'. I'll let you know if it's successful.

Thank you it works properly now.
All I did was press F5 on my keyboard and that refreshed the screen. Simple as that!

Ooh magic! Thanks for sharing Linda, pressing F5 even I can manage. It has tidied things up beautifully.0

I know Daffy I couldn't believe how easy it was.

I fear I am being very daft - I attribute this to tiredness and a large degree of stress so please be patient with me.
Are we able to send and receive PMs? I haven't located a button so will try the F5 button. I frequently clear my cache (twice yesterday) but I'm still clueless (no comments on that, please!). DimDaisy.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi DD
Check for a pm now and let me know please.
