    Hi Charles,

Thank you for your message to helplines. I am sorry to hear that you have been experiencing pain in your finger and thumb.

You don't mention what type of arthritis you have, so I wonder if you have been to see your doctor to discuss what could be going on for you?

You might find our booklet 'Understanding Arthritis' useful:

    https://www.arthritiscare.org.uk/what-is-arthritis/resources/299-understanding-arthritis

If you do already know which type of arthritis you have, we can provide more specific information. Please feel free to contact us on our freephone helpline: 0808 800 4050 Mon - Fri 10am-4pm or if email is easier: [email protected]

    I hope this helps,

    Best wishes,

    Emma-Jane, Helplines.
