She has died aged 95. Best known for playing Nana in The Royle Family and Mrs Cropley in Vicar of Dibley. She passed away Christmas Eve.

Oh she was a one, wasn't she? I loved her as Nana, she was the perfect fit for the part. I hadn't heard this, Grace, so thank you for the thread - what a ghastly year it has been for losing talented people. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I'm getting too scared to put the radio on in the morning. I don't like hearing of so many deaths. Especially the young ones.

It was only yesterday I watched the recording of the Royal family form Christmas eve..it was the one were she dies and very sad but funny...a brilliant actress...RIPLove
