Walking stick - knee pain

Hi all, I have both RA and osteoarthritis although currently waiting for MRI to identify cause of knee pain. Had steroid injection 2.5 weeks ago into knee but unfortunately it hasn't reduced pain. Also had 35ml of fluid aspirated from knee joint which did reduce swelling and stiffness (although seems to be returning). Rheumatologist recommended walking stick as I am losing my balance due to knee giving way however has instructed me to use on right side for right knee pain (I don't think this is correct but didn't want to argue). No sleep, lots of pain, fed up.

Any support/advice welcome. Trying to keep moving but it is very difficult and painful.
