New here and facing surgery (HTO)for OA knee
Hello everyone.
Ive joined to see if I can find more about high tibial osteotomy.
Ive been wearing an offloading knee brace for 2 months and its been very effective in relieving pain so it means I could be a good candidate for this op.
The versus arthritis website doesn't appear to have any information on this.
So I am asking you if you have any experience of this op, might help me make up my mind whether to go forward with this or not

Hi @Lullu, welcome to the Online Community! It's lovely to have you here.
I see that you're considering undergoing a high tibial osteotomy to deal with the osteoarthritis in your knee. I understand that you're looking for personal perspectives, but I did find a couple of NHS leaflets just in case they provide you with any details that help with your decision:
https://www.wwl.nhs.uk/media/.leaflets/603f5e3ca97ea8.67127159.pdf
There has been some discussion before about HTOs in the past, like this one from 2015 that you might find useful:

And perhaps another member with experience of this operation will be able to weigh in too.
I hope everything goes well with whatever treatment option you decide. Please do stick around in the Online Community, it's good to talk :)
Best wishes, Sarah (moderator)
