I am awaiting a diagnosis have extreme pain in my left knee so much so my leg gives way although it’s not all the time! After having pain when changing gear I decided to to my dr who referred me for an X-ray. Just waiting on the results of that. Most of the exercises he has given me to do I can’t do as I suffer with back issues also and struggle a lot if the time. Any advice would be welcome 🙏

Welcome @Mchllwlkns to the online community,

You are awaiting diagnosis after suffering with extreme pain in your knee which sometimes gives way. I hope that you will be able to learn some information from the community which will help you have a proactive conversation with the doctor and consultant if / when you are referred. With this in mind I attach the following links

If it would help to talk to someone on the Helpline they are available Monday - Friday 9.00 - 6.00 on 0800 5200520.

It does seem contrary to be advised to exercise whilst in pain and which can potentially cause you more pain but many of us living with arthritis are following the VA community Lets Move videos on You Tube and as well as being fun they do allow you to do as much or as little as you can manage. Then you have the chance to build up at your own speed and I for one have found them very beneficial.

Do post again if you feel able to let us know the results of the xray .

    Take Care
