Waiting list criteria
Hello! I have OA in both hips due to having a hip disease as a child, slipped upper femoral epiphysis (SUFE), I am now 46 and struggling with mobility, pain and tiredness. I had an X-ray 2yrs ago and was mild OA. I am due to have an X-ray soon as I am so much worse. My question is, do I have to be graded as ‘severe’ before consideration for a THR? What is the criteria to meet to get on replacement list? And who makes that decision? Thanks everyone.

Hi @raggleroo
Welcome to the versus arthritis forum.
You have OA in your hips, femoral epiphysis in your youth and are challenged with mobility, pain and tiredness. You have a number of questions about what criteria/severity rating you need to qualify for a THR.
I’m sure that there will be plenty of forum members who will be able to provide some input having undergone the procedure themselves or are waiting for one.
