Glad to hear that you are back home and managing pretty well as it is only 6 weeks since your hip replacement so early days.
As for physio exercises I am surprised that the hospital did not give you an appointment to see someone for a follow up for post hip exercises. I am still having physio sessions at my nearest hospital and have found them although painful at times very beneficial for my overall fitness/health. Regarding the bending/squatting I have only just been given exercises to help with these movements and still do not bend down fully as I still have stiffness in my upper legs/thighs and am still using my grabber which is a godsend.
It may be worth contacting the hospital/relevant department about getting some physio as it is one to one and is geared to you individually.
I too will eventually need the other hip to be replaced and hope to get some info. on this when I see my Consultant at the end of this month.
