Knee Osteoarthritis

I've just joined the community. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knees early last year, and even with the exercises and pain relief I struggle on a daily basis. I saw a physiotherapist this week and I have now been referred for the steroid injections, I've heard mixed views about whether the injections actually help or not.

@Jeaniebop71 I had a steroid injection in my right knee last September and was told by the MSK consultant to keep the knee as stable as possible for the first 48hours, then not to do any physio exercises for at least 2 weeks, also no gardening and very light housework in that period. I have to say that initially I had a better range of movement for about a week but after that there was no further improvement. As mentioned, everybody reacts in a different way. I had mentioned about surgery and was advised that you had to wait at least 6 months after the steroid injection before any surgery. I think this was because you were more prone to getting an infection. I hope this helps. Take care.🙂
