Hi everyone! I got my right hip replaced exactly 2 months ago, I´m 23 years and im currently in remission (JIA). My hip necrosed due to corticoids. I would like to know if anyone has gotten the amis method which is supposed to be less invasive and could tell me about their experience. So far for me it has been incredible, no pain at all, I´m already walking way better and considering starting sport again as I feel 10/10. However, my doctor told me not to run again but other than that no restrictions at all, so it would be helpful to know if this is the case for anyone out there. Also take this as a signal for anyone thinking about getting the surgery, to consider getting the amis approach :).

Hi. I'm glad you've had a great experience and you are recovering your life. Isn't it fantastic? . I couldn't choose my surgery approach. If I could, I would have chosen a less invasive surgery. I had a posterior approach and my recovery was great but I have a very long scar. I don't have restrictions either, apart from my own limitations. Take care x

    Hello @mariarey01

I just wanted to belatedly welcome to you to the online community. I see you have already met @Nurina. Our other recent 'hippies' include @alwayssewing @Janlyn and @Trish9556 to name but a few. I am not sure which type of surgery they had, but I'm sure they will know as they were all very well informed and proactive with their surgeries and recoveries.

I am so very pleased to read about your own recovery with the 'Amis' method thank you so much for posting. My own search reveals very little about the actual procedure in the UK. Nothing from other members and very little from our own NHS.

Your experience could be very helpful to someone offered the Amis procedure in future.

    My best wishes

    Ellen.
