Recently diagnosed with RA and needed recommendations for heat pads or something

hi, I am 26 and just been diagnosed with RA, I have just started on methotrexate. The main problem I have is in my finger joints as my hands get cold easily and then the joints feel worse. Does anyone have any recommendations for any gloves, heated or otherwise that I could wear on a daily basis to allow me to do my job a bit better (involves lots of typing) when my hands get cold they get painful, when warm it is a lot better!

    Hello @AliceWF

I don't have RA but have had OA in my hands for many years and worked as a PA for the last five years of working prior to retiring.

I found using fingerless gloves invaluable and still use them today. When my hands are particularly bad I use hot hands, little packs of air activated magic that keep hot for about 12 hours. Other brands are available. They cost £1 for a pack of two onost shops and if you get on with them. They're much cheaper by the box on online selling shops. Perfect for sticking inside gloves and pockets

Hello @AliceWF and welcome to the Online Community forum.

As @Trish9556 says fingerless gloves are a way to go. I have problems in my hands and find wearing compression gloves help me and still allow me to type and so on. There are many available on the internet or your local pharmacy.

I hope you get something that helps you - please keep posting and let us know.

    Best wishes

    Peter
