When to take Methotrexate.
Hi. Can anyone offer advice please as to when the best time to take Methotrexate is. I see advice of take it before food and then some say take it after. Some say morning and some say evening. I took my first dose last Wednesday evening after my tea. And I’ve had no side effects as yet. Only on 10mg dose so that might have a bearing on it.
Thanks.

Hi @helen1937
When I was on Methotrexate I would have taken it on a Friday night. I had terrible sickness from it though so I took it on a Friday so that I was feeling ok for work/school on the Monday. I suppose if you aren't having any side effects from it at the moment you could take it anytime really. Here's a couple of links for you to have a read through.

If you're ok and no side effects I'd keep as you are @helen1937
For those of us who feel tired/nauseous we often take it in the evening so we can sleep through some side effects. Some also take it Fridays (if they have weekends off) so that they can rest more the next day.
Good luck I hope it really helps you
