    Is it needle in a haystack by the velveteens? we used to dance to it but not sure it was a hit though.

    Here's a clue. It was a hit in 1989 and got into the top ten. The band are from my neck of the woods but have an American name.

    Is the group Texas? I think I know the song if it was but for the life of me can't remember the name........ The vid that went with it was a car and a truck and they were on the roof I think? I will think hard while I do evening duties but this bit may help someone else. Cris
