    Hi All,

My op was cancelled because of a rash on my knee. Very disappointed as I went to my GP with this and was told should not be a problem. Will now try and get back on list for op ASAP but feel this could be a month at least.

    Very down,
    Terry.

    Hi Terry

You have every right to feel disappointed and down. :( Let's hope that an op date comes through fairly soon and all will be well the next time. :)

    Best wishes,
    Elna

    Hi Elna

Just read post op post from Anna. I hope Anna recovers very soon.
Compilations are what we don’t want.
I still hope my date will come soon.

    Best wishes
    Terry.

    Hi Terry :)

I hope you hear about your new op date soon too. :D You want it done and dusted now. It is such a nuisance, having to postpone, for whatever reason.

You are right, complications we can all do without and poor Anna has had a few blips. She certainly had a rough time after she came around after the anaesthetic. It is early days though and hopefully it will all settle down very soon. It is certainly a wake up call, though, isn't it?

You will be fine - no good thinking otherwise is there?

    Wishing you all the best,
    Elna

Hi Terry - very bad luck re the cancellation but better that than an infected wound. I thought my TKR was going to be postponed for a similar reason - I went on holiday to Turkey just before my op date, got badly bitten by mosquitoes and one of the bites was just below my knee. Fortunately it had healed enough by the date of the op but it was a close run thing. I know I would have felt the same as you but, as I say, it is better for them to be on the safe side - though doubly frustrating when your GP said it would be OK. Hope you get a new date soon.

    Hi
I've had the knee arthroscopy today. I went into theatre at about 1.30, in recovery til 3.30 and home by 5!
I feel fantastic, although quite painful now the painkillers are wearing off. They did more than expected when in there. They cut back the fat pad which was impining the joint. The Dr also said that there was a split which was quite large....but to be honest all I can remember is "under the patella" but can't remember where or what exactly. I have to start physio in 2 weeks so wont be 'up and at it' as first thought! lol
Things are finally looking up. Not bad all in one week I've had my diagnosis at my first Rheumy appointment on monday and knee sorted (hopefully) today. Fingers crossed things will continue to improve.
I must also mention that the nurses and staff at the hospital were wonderful today. Not patronising at all and very friendly...

One thing that does bother me which I mentioned in a previous post was that his Junior doctor suggest I didnt have this procedure as it was probably arthritis when in fact today the Dr said he didnt see a sign of arthritis in the knee although he did say there was quite a bit of wear and tear which he tidied up and he wasnt really looking for it. I am optimistic!

Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for your support it really does make a differance. xx
