    Morning DD,

not sleeping well at mo ... not convinced it is purely down to arther .... think it is to do with my brain/thoughts (a lot on my plate re school and S wise at the mo.)

S seems to be permanently fighting off colds at the mo, one after the other. Lots of bugs at my school too.

Need to dream up some fun indoor activities this weekend - as weather so grim.

Is it wild, wet, cold, windy and grey where you are too?

Oh speedy I am not surprised you are not sleeping well - your brain must be whirling now you are back at school, and whirling brains are very difficult to shut off. Write the whirls down, see if that helps!

I am sorry to hear that S is gong thro a rough patch, I know he does not cope too well with illness and there are soooo many bugs about (as usual) with this time of year. Don't do anything too active this week-end tho - you both need some R&R by the sounds of things! I hope you are resting now. DD

    Hi DD,

S is actually ok, it is all the pressures from other professionals in his life - wanting paperwork completing, to visit etc that is adding to the pressure/exhaustion.

Hi Poppy, I’m sorry about your sore arm, no need for that either – done carefully and properly you needn’t get a bruise. I wish her, her come-upance!! (that's the sort of mood I'm in today - not a smilie for what I want - picture a fork wielding devil smilie)

Hi Julie – no point messing with the manual – just trial and error and you will get there with the editing software. Just make sure you save what you are going to edit. I have edited stuff for school – becomes a bit obessional – to get it just how you want it!!
Amazing how unconcerned they are about the little hole – they’d be more concerned if it was on their leg!! The sorts of treatments for ulcers don’t work/help?

Hi Toni, I am sore – partly from falling and partly from working. Also tired, so low tolerance/threshold. Am resting today. Hopefully will snap out of the dol-drums soon.

Hello, I'm glad that you are feeling better today, but don't over do the house work. Its such a tiring job, I told the OT, who was asking about what I find most difficult and painful, I came up with the housework! She said that was normal as if you think about it, you are bending, lifting, putting pressure on the wrists. It fact doing all the things that are worst for you!!! She didn't offer to get someone to do it, just told me to wear my hand splints and rest a lot between job. 'Still be there tomorrow' she said. Well, thats the b*****y problem!!!  Sorry to go on moaning. Take care and try not to do too much. Love Sue

    Hi Speedy,

I'm feeling very guilty for not seeing this thread before now  where was my head  and how did I miss it. :!:

I'm really concerned that you had such a fall ... not good :(
and by the sounds of it S is also having a difficult time too.

I'm hoping that by now the swelling has begun to go down and the pain and stiffness easing.

love and healing thoughts my friend,

    HI Speedy

just popping in to send you both some hugs, and to hope that the bruises are going down. Have you tried arnica gel (if you are ok to use it with your meds?) as I have found that it can help to cut down on the pain from bruises sometimes, and they seem to hang around for less time too :D

    hugs ((((((())))))))

    Hi Speedy

Sorry am only just catching up, though I did see your earlier thread about getting back to work. Well done on that, it must be nice to see the little people again but hard work at the moment I am sure. Ouch the fall must have scared you so do hope you can have a good rest this weekend and aren't too bruised.
Hope all goes well for you next week and you soon feel stronger. Take care of yourself.

Hi Sue, housework is hard work isn’t it? I struggled with it more and more before my op. Couldn’t do much of it on hip restrictions and a friend of a friend came to clean for me. Thankfully she has agreed to carry on with it now I’m returning work. One less thing to worry about it. The problem with housework – it keeps needing doing and it is hard to ignore. Try and visit a few friends who don’t believe in housework/have lots of little kids etc and then it will help you realise your house isn’t too bad!!

    Hi Cris, Joan and Barbara,

thanks for the drafts and kindly advice. Weekends mean a lie in which is great, but apart from that they aren't very relaxing as S is home and needs entertaining!!

    Hi DD and Iris,

I did manage some rest on Friday including a nice long soak and read in the bath. (I know you don't see the attraction DD, but it helped me relax.)

Iris not suprised you missed my thread - you have been having your own dramatics ... hope your poor body is recovering. Sounds like you are already fighting the cause and doing your own research...

    Hi Wonky and Chris,

yes I'm a great fan of arnica - but down to the last bit in the tube. Must get some more.

Thanks Chris - these little people are new to me and I'm still hankering for the bigger ones - some of my old class are still in school (the eldest ones left for secondary) and to be honest I'd rather be teaching them. I'm sure the new lot will soon get under my skin.

    Hi Iris,

swelling now fine, bruising takes awhile ... which means kneeling is still painful.

Am working all day Tues, Wed and Thurs (tho' have check up Thurs afternoon ...) It is Eid this week, so we'll have less pupils in school for one or two days.

Still waiting on equipment  Will ask secretary to ring up and see if any progress with the perching stool (which isn't a perching stool as we know it.) I really do need equipment and am hoping it makes a huge difference (not sure if this is a wise expectation?!) If I really struggle doing three full days without the equipment this week - I will have to see head about re-thinking phase until it arrives. He is meant to be meeting with me at the end of each week to see how I'm doing - but this hasn't happened yet.

    Hi Hileena,

I fell on my hands and knees - which is less scary than falling to one side/on a hip. Before I had this second hip done, I would sometimes turn round too quickly in class to see what was happening and would kind of collapse in a heap ... so much for turning round slowly taking sedate little steps!! So was less shaken than I might have been. Blimin' hurt though!!

Glad you are back online, it's frustrating when you can't get on isn't it?

    Hi Speedy
Thats one of my problems still.....staggering......not actually fallen{except for that one time} but turn round suddenly and I stagger...thought that would have gone by now

    Hi Speedy,

I do hope you have managed a little me time today. Not that easy for you I know. Perhaps another soak in the bath tonight if at all possible would help ease your poor knees.

Good luck for the new week.
