I dont know what powers the police have and how limited but why cant they use tear gas and water cannons? Loudspeaker to say clear the area or face the gas and water-am sure they would all clear off.
I partiuclar liked the news this morning- a group of sikhs protecting their temple,no messing there, they had baseball bats - these hoodies are brainless idiots; welcome with a bat.
Again on news groups of people, all races, sick of it patrolling the streets-at least the residents would feel slightly safer.
Saw Hazel Blears 0n news and she wasnt answering the questions-no surprise they never do-basically she was just churning out cr@p reply.
There should be 9pm curfews for under 21s!
How many of these criminals are fatherless-wheres the discipline.0 -
Apparently the thicko's broke into a ladbrokes betting shop, what were they expecting to find, a bloody horse?[/quote]
loads of money I'm afraid. My Sis in law was one of the people held up by a gunman in a betting shop, Eastbourne a few weeks back. She works there.

Yes but they would still be looking for money or a safe. Plus the large screen T.V hanging on the wall.

Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper.
Seen that a few times this week and how true it is. I used to work in London driving buses Ive seen this coming for a few years now and its going to get worse but why burn down peoples houses and small business's and terrorise innocent people thats not the way to get what they want.0 -
It was heartening to hear that members of the public turned up in droves this morning in Manchester City Centre armed with brushes etc to clear up all the mess. People on the radio said they would not let a group of mindless thugs ruin their city. There are far more good people out there than bad.0

The comments I have heard are mostly about 'the rich' have shops and businesses, the kids are bored and it was all exciting for them. There are no consequences for their actions.I've seen it coming too.Never be bullied into silence.

Labour looted us, only GB could sell our gold reserves at the lowest price, well done Prudence! Factor in their fluffy left-wing-everyone-is-lovely-never-say-no-discipline-is-a-swear-word-you'll-damage-self-esteem-it's-not-his-fault-his-daddy-didn't-love-him-criminals-rights-are-more-important-than-anyone-elses thinking is now reaping its toll.
One of the rioters' claims is that society does not respect them, does not value them. I would argue that they do not show respect to society, and, more importantly, themselves. If you demonstrate respect in how you behave towards yourself and others the chances are it will be returned to you, like for like. It's not rocket science. Good manners and self-respect cost nothing but they do require parental instruction in the early years and some effort by the individual. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. You go DD, I totally agree with all you've said.

A sizable amount of blame can be laid at the door of the Politically correct, they have pushed the mantra of reward for antisocial behaviour and also used the strategy of apportioning blame on other and instilling the view that the guilty are victims so aren’t responsible for being little sh%$s.
The evidence that the same **** about logic was alive and well was the retort from Ms Diane Abbot and the woman with her who claimed to be a community leader, she looked like Urban lesbian street warrior woman with a odd sense of dress and a chip the size of Peckham on her and Diane’s shoulders, Straight away they blamed the Police for being racist and the urban thingy then spouts off blaming the whole of Britain for being institutionally racist”!, what the??.
The Police are daft and ham fisted yes but racist not so sure these days, but this argument has been used to chase the police off the streets in predominantly black areas of London it’s a stock mantra and totally out of date, times have moved on these people haven’t and are more bigoted than the majority, and it is this attitude that has made room for the very gangs that blight the black areas but Ms Abbot is so blinkered she can’t or wont see it, at some point soon Ms Abbot and her lefty alter racist clique will have to admit that a lot of the problems that arise in the inner cities are coming from within their communities.
At some time in the near future they will have to fez up to their lack of social responsibility and stop blaming everyone else for their problems and actions, what right has anyone got to set light to another person home or smash up a shop and gut it just because they haven’t got as much as others?!, we’ve all moved on Ms Abbot and chip on her shoulder woman haven’t.
How much money have we thrown at these areas already?, throwing more will do **** all, we Also have the same attitude festering in on other areas of society, the whites who frequent the Jeremy Kyle show are just the same, a total lack of rules and the use of reward for all antisocial behaviour coupled with instilling the view that the perpetrator is a bigger victim that the victimised has breed an underclass of nasty buggers who don’t recognise society or the rules that are necessary to hold it together they.
The only exception to this is there is one small part of the social the readily recognise and are more than familiar with and it’s the teat they happily suckle from ie the DHSS, they know full well how to get as much as they can out of it, one thing they understand well is if they have more kids they will get rewarded for each one they pop out, so in effect were all paying to make this problem worse, it has to stop if it doesn’t this will just get worse.
Our services are slowly sinking into a s&^t hole DHSS supported country wide ghetto of gangs and urban decay that ironically is blamed on you and I although we pay to house the ever increasing numbers of these urban feral dross. It’s a social cancer, this section of society is totally malignant, it serves no useful purpose and is growing all the time, feeding it only makes it bigger and more dangerous to the whole, how you reduce it isn’t going to be easy but it needs a serious dose of chemotherapy or it will just spread and destroy more and more of our urban society.
PS there you go just seen Ms Abbot in the commons on riot TV aka BBC news 24 and what did she say, if you try and crack down on the minority ie the gangs doing this you could well increase the level of violence from these gangs and make things much more dangerous, not very constructive and may have been a veiled threat from her.0 -
Hi DD.
They aren;t clever enough to realise this as many do not have good role models. If parents don't care, and nobody protects them from chaos at home then they are going to protect themselves any way they can. For many this means gang culture and all that goes with it.
Mell whats wrong with Lesbian street warrior? Her heart may well be in the right place.

if they are not bought up with self respect they will have no respect for others . this is the generation that were not allowed to be disciplined at school expelling is what they want an excuse not to go . they should have classrooms for these youngsters that they get taken two by a parent in the morning and stay in there until home time eating meals there etc valval0

It starts at school and in the home. Teachers take some stick from kids at school and have no way of chastising them. They cant even give them a clack around the ears now. Same in the home, parents can be accused of abuse if they lay a finger on their kids. I even hear kids F and blind in front of their parents today, mine would have skinned me alive If I'd have done that.
It's what's wrong with our society today, red tape has gone too far.
It's time to bring back good old fashioned values.0 -
I completely agree Ron, in the 15 years I've been an Ofsted Registered
Childminder I've had children of 7 and 8 start with me that haven't been taught to say please and thankyou! It's not hard to teach basic manners and respect as within a couple of weeks the children soon learnt that everyone else in the house had good manners and they started saying please and thankyou too. What astonished me was the parents reaction, complete indifference  X'grá agus solas'

Poppy, I'm amazed and shocked how parents say it wouldn't be their children. They are blind to what their kids are doing.0
