Pain drain

I'm really fed up of this pain and the crap that comes with it. I managed to take J to work this morning, was already suffering the minute I woke up. As soon as I got back I had to rest, I thought, today will be productive... I'll rest a while then slowly do a couple of light chores.. Then the pain drain hit... I had no chance, couldn't fight it... I was out, as though David Haye had heckled me then punched me. That was around half seven I woke around half twelve when my tablet alarm went off..

Tony, I have taken a day off myself today. I just haven't got the energy to fight the pain anymore. It is just exhausting, I like your description of a pain drain, that captures it eloquently.

I am not sure how to manage the pain till my next appt, doing anything is excruciatingly painful and sapping the will to live.

You take care and rest up, I wish I could offer useful advice instead of saying I know how it is. Maybe it helps to know someone else is in the same position?

When is your appt, has it come through yet?

Would the gp have any advice to help you?

Hi Tony, you seem to be going through a really rotton patch at the moment. Sorry I can't help, but I'm thinking of you and wish you better soon.

    Tony,
So sorry to hear you're having a bad time - particularly as you had the time and compassion to respond to my moan about work.

Was just reading the saga about your bed (or lack of it). Goodness me, they are really messing you around - definately won't be going there when I need a new bed.

Best wishes to you, hope you get some sort of relief soon

Thanks everyone.. I really do appreciate it..
Gonna go see the doctor tomorrow as I'm running out of mi cirtalapram and they won't put it on mi repeat script. Will mention the exhaustion but I know it's part of having an inflammatory arthritis..
I've reduced my fentanyl patch down to 50mcg/hr as my pain doctor asked me too. Replace them every three days so will take it down to 25mcg/hr in six days, see how I go on. Seems silly cutting the pain relief down when I'm suffering so much but he says he doesn't think it's going anything anyway. At the dose of 75mcg/hr I should be getting a lot of relief. Obviously I'm not..
    Will see how it goes.
That will leave me on only paracetamol and diclofenac for pain relief.

    Hi Tony
Sorry your having a rubbish day. I'm having a rest day myself, I had steroid injections yesterday so feeling a bit battered and bruised, but the kids are on half term so have them running around and fussing after me. Hope you feel better soon

    Thanks Sue, Sarah..
I've just been to see the GP, he's wanting to keep an eye on me while I drop the fentanyl patches down.. He's concerned as am I that I'm going to be left with not much pain relief..
I've told him my concerns about the whole atos thing and said he'll back me with whatever I need.

I'm up at least today but shattered.

Thanks girls... Today has been spent in a drug induced stupor in a vain attempt for some relief from the back pain.. So, diazepam aplenty... I'm dopey, yep, more than usual.. Not even left the bed today.. I'm a groggy, fed up miserable fart.. Lol
I've got Ra laid across my hips fast asleep.. He puts a good amount of pressure on them, sometimes it helps ease the pain a bit. Lol

lol.. I'm trying to get him to lay across my lower back at the minute.. Haha
Sometimes he's as slack as a bag of spanners though
He's always keeping me company when I'm not good.. 90% of the time he's a genius superhero but at the minute he's having a 10% moment..
