I'm guessing it should be over more or less. I hope it went simply and quickly and not too traumatically.

You will see, Numpty, that, not only were the choir in good voice but several of us came up with new lyrics just for you....well, maybe not just for you....maybe not particularly for you at all....but clearly inspiration has struck so we were able to keep up the racket - sorry, harmony - throughout. We'll look forward to seeing you back here but not before you're good and ready. ((())) (For being a brave little soldier  )

Come to think of it, is it time to lubricate the old vocal chords? :D

Aarrr me hearties, Cap'n Numpty 'ere, thanking you swabs for singing those Christmas shanties.
Don't worry, it's not a real pirate, it's just me with an eye patch :D
All went well, I've been home about half an hour.
No pain, it just feels as though I have an eye full of grit, and it's running like burglary.
I can't see too well yet, so I'll keep this short.
Thank you all for your support, and lovely singing, (sorry about your sore throat Val ).
    I'll post again tomorrow.
    Wishing you all well,
    Numpty

Wow! Now that I was not expecting - steady on old girl! :) (As we say in this household.) I'm not surprised your eye is rebelling, I hope things settle soon and you soon can de-patch, cap'n! DD

Great to know you're home, Cap'n Numpty, but please stay away from the poop deck for a while. I'm sure computer studies wasn't part of the post-op advice. Sit and relax with a spot of grog. We'll still be here when you discard the eye-patch.

    Thank you all once again.
Ive removed the patch, bathed around the eye and put in the drops.
The gritty feeling has all but gone, light hurts my eye, but not too badly. It's still running like hell, but then it was before the surgery.
I can see with it, but it's really blurry, I hope that improves soon. :D
I have to wear the patch to sleep, for two weeks, and use the eye drops for a month.
The surgeon wants to see me in three months, to check on my eye, but also about the watering. So I may need the hole drilling through my nose after all  Oh well, I'll worry about that when the time comes
I really do appreciate all the support you have given me, thank you all.

You sound as if you have it under control, Numpty. The gritty feeling is gone so that is indeed progress for one day. I hope the watering will stop but, if not, Unable Seaman SW can pop round with me marlin spike, me hearty

It sounds as if things have improved but I hope your eye stops watering soon and you don't need the hole drilling.

Hello Numpty. Am glad to hear that all went well for you. Hope you are now resting as much as possible. I don't think computing is quite the ideal thing to help recovery but it's nice to hear from you that all is progressing. Take care. Beryl (()))

I hope that things will settle in due course, Numpty. I think my dad's eye watered for a while after his cataract op. but I cannot remember how long for. Keep doing what you need to do to help matters and I hope it soon dries up. DD
