Thanks so much for continuing to be here for me - specially when I'm not giving anything in return at the moment.
Today is a better day so far. Despite sleeping my way through yesterday, I slept all night last night so am less tired and more positive this morning.
We are hoping to go out for a drive and a cuppa later, so really looking forward to that.
Thanks again.

Glad you've rested Tilly and I hope the day was good. How are the aches and other withdrawal symptoms? Thinking of you xxHey little fighter, things will get brighter0

I hope you enjoyed your drive. (I don’t think you would have done round here. I’m not sure whether it’s been sleet or snow  )
I take it that you, Mr TT and your parents have sorted out the ‘talking about’ you rather than ‘to’ you? I hope so.
I also hope that all that sleeping was, somehow, a good thing. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Tilly - I'm sorry I've come to this thread so late in the day. I'm so remiss as a member of this forum - when I do come on I usually feel too guilty and too behind with things to join in.
At least I now realise the extent to which you've been struggling recently. I have no suggestions or advice (unlike your wisdom for my much lesser plights) but others have supported and advised you well and I do hope you can achieve your goal to come off Oramorph in your own inimitable and intelligent way. I have to say that I agree with DD about finding yourself a new GP but then I don't know where you live or your circs so not sure how easy that would be. My own GPs have been invaluable and I can't imagine how I would have fared on this RA journey without them so having a good GP can make the world of difference - especially with your current struggles.
Anyway keep taking care and doing this thing slowly but surely and I'll follow this thread from now on. You know where to find me if you feel like chatting one to one. Mat xxxxIf you get lemons, make lemonade0 -
Thanks for your posts - much appreciated.

I started to add to my message below but system timed me out hence the separate post.
Today looks to be a better day, helped by the fact that I may, at last, have found out what has caused the vile nausea with which I have been contending all day, every day, for more than a year. I am trying not to be too "excited" about this potential development because I have been here before but I am cautiously optomistic.
It seems likely now to be down to the HRT which I started in February last year (and which the GP has assured me "does not cause nausea"). In my determination to try to get to the bottom of things I have been taking a half-dose for a few months now and have now finally stopped it completely. And after 5 days without out it, I have now had 2 completely nausea-free days and so far, so good today too. I'm not sure how I will be without it but surely menopause (albeit it early and dramatic) has to end sometime and I've been dealing with it for 7 years now so I'm hoping it has given up and gone away once and for all.
Morphine wise I am going to stick at my current (reduced) dose for a while now to see how things are. I am fairly comfortable with that for now, given that I am now taking a smaller dose than I was when it was first prescribed. My stomach is definitely better than it was now that I have reduced or stopped several of my prescribed meds so I am desperately hoping that things will continue to improve.
Thanks again for your support.

Hi Tilly
Just popping by to see how you are doing.....gosh wouldn't it be great if you have solved the nausea issue?
I do hope you have and that any early menopause symptoms can be overcome too.
The sun is shining here and I want to be outside, but it's really really cold so making do with some seedlings indoors.
Dot think the spring onion race won't be 'on' this year
Love

Hi Tilly,Hope things are going well been thinking of you lots. Its bright and sunny in nottm but very cold.(((()))) Mig0

Thanks - again - for your continued thoughts and support. I really do appreciate it.
One minute things seems to be improving, then it all goes to pot again. But then I guess that's just how it goes. I have discovered though, quite by accident, that there is an over the counter travel sickness med which helps my nausea. I have tried the common prescription anti-nausea meds, none of which helped at all but this one does give me some respite from the continual nausea - which is now back again with a vengeance. Unlike the other anti-nausea meds I've tried, this one doesn't make me sleepy either, which is a plus because staying awake is often a bit of challenge anyway.
Thanks again, very much.

Hi Tilly. You are having a rough time. Do hope you can get the nausea sorted out soon and start to feel better. Think it's a case of one step forward and one back sometimes but am sure you will feel better once you've got the meds finally sorted. Take care. Beryl (())0

So, I guess the nausea was nothing to do with the HRT treatment, after all, Tilly. Really, I was surprised that it seemed as though it might be.
If you've finally found something that helps that's very good but, at the risk of sounding like an old record that's stuck in the groove, please tell me the pharmacist who sold them to you is fully aware of all the other meds you're taking.
I know you are wise enough to realise that 'over the counter' does not equal 'safe' but sometimes we get desperate enough to take risks we shouldn't take. One step forwards and two steps back would not be a good way to go.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
