Backache. I've been lifting, sorting and bending far too much but there's only way the boxes will be emptied and that's with me doing them. He does some at the week-ends but with much harrumphing and moaning that stuff needs to be thrown out. It will be.

The house is coming on. Today I think I will dig out some of our pictures; the previous owner was picture-mad and there are empty hooks all over the place. We have a fair number too so it will be good to cover up some of the blanker walls.

Right, it's time to stab then light a candle for Val and contemplate things for a while. RIP our lovely Val. DD

Hi DD, you sound like me, needing to get things done. If I move furniture I get told off for doing it but if I don't do it who will? It will all be worth it when you can sit back and look around you with satisfaction.

Oh Ouch, I've been looking round with satisfaction since the day of the move! :D I truly cannot believe the difference this house has made to my quality of life, I am now living the life I knew I was capable of living but which was physically impossible at 202. Stopping work whilst at the old house helped matters but not enough. Things are very different now, I am sleeping better, feel a little more energetic (if that is not too strong a word!) and, although I still have a long way to go in terms of unpacking, sorting and re-doing bathrooms etc. I don't feel daunted by the prospect.

I am content and very fortunate in that. DD

Oh Joan, I have (and fortunately he has too). I am a very lucky woman. I think it's true that we can make our own luck but sometimes circumstances combine as they did for us with No. 10. DD
