Hi all. I am new to this site...and relatively new to PMR and arthritis diagnosis, but have had significant joints and pain issues for at least 12 months.
My first Rheumatology consultation took place just before lockdown. I have received a letter from the hospital in relation to COVID-19, but wonder if this is the same letter other NHS patients have received?
I have been shielding, based on guidance in that letter and subsequent follow-up phone consultation with Rheumatologist, but am now very confused as there seems to have been another 'tier' of (lesser) vulnerability introduced recently?! Govt and NHS websites have conflicting/contradictory information.
Being 'older', my gut feeling is to continue shielding - I work in a Secondary school, and was actually 'strongly advised' by my employer to 'stay home' for 12 weeks, 2 days before lockdown. I worry about other people's lack of caution causing transmission of the virus now there is an easing of restrictions, and it is this that makes me feel vulnerable. Is it just me ..?
