Hi everyone,

I hope you're sll keeping well.

This afternoon I am having an extended appointment with my GP to discuss my RA diagnosis and how I can sort myself out. I've come up with a few topics to cover but any further ideas would be more than helpful!

So far:

  • pain management
  • medication
  • my other medical issues (& if they interact with RA)
  • diet
  • mental health

If there are anymore I should add, pretty please let me know :)

Are there any self-help groups locally? would be another question you could ask

How did you get on? Sorry, I've only just noticed this thread.

I hope it was a good appointment though really, with RA, it'll be your rheumatologist who will deal with meds. Your GP can deal with any pain meds, though, and interactions.

    I hope it went well

    You could add physiotherapy.

  • Thanks everyone, it went well and @stickywicket you were right about the Rheumo being the best person to talk to about meds (I actually had that appt today - went really well). It was good to go and see my GP to touch base on not just the RA but also how it affects other parts of my life and my other health conditions - she's my middle ground for it all. Really appreciate all comments and advice! :)

  • How about fatigue? Is that something that has affected you?

GPs are really helpful for a general picture. I also find them very good at interpreting consultant-speak.

Just a heads up. Pharmacists are great at interactions.
