Newly diagnosed with RA
I’ve just been diagnosed with RA and a month into the medication regime. I was previously very fit and active so this was a big bow - although I’ve managed to keep up my strength training with Reformer Pilates, I’m missing my aerobics classes. my feet are an issue. I wonder what other forms of cardiac exercise other people have been able to do. Thank you.

Hello @Evy55
Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here with us.
Have you tried swimming? Non weight bearing, and judging by the swimmers in the fast lane at my local pool, can get the heart rate up if you swim fast enough for a length of time. Also suitable for 'off' days when you need something more restorative. Give it a go! Try and find a pool that has a jacuzzi as well - great for easing sore muscles.
All the best Joanne

Hi
I am 2 months into the medication regime and also was v active before all the symptoms started . Trying to find an exercise that I can now do without exacerbating things. I’ve started cycling on a stationary bike at the gym and do a little light weights and also have started back at Zumba . I also use the sauna at the gym. My big toes are also affected but got some custom made insoles which have helped a bit . It’s v hard to deal with this disease when having been so active but I’m hoping that the medication will control things and can continue to keep muscles strong .
best wishes.0
