Hi Trish, five weeks, thats great for you, you should get to see lots of him in that time.
Thanks for offering to babysit for the school holidays, very generous of you. My Oh is at home and he looks after our boy, will have lots of days out planned for him. We're off for two weeks from about 7 August, not going on hol this year but going up to North East to visit family, then on to Northumberland to stay at sisters house. It will be good to catch up with them all.
The family are all coming here next week cos we're going to Party in the Park in Leeds, its a huge free concert with loads of top artists and bands, we usually have a fab day out, its a fantastic family atmosphere. I'm a bit worried cos I won't be able to stand this year soI'll need to contact the organiser to see if I can take a chair in.

That seems great a big party. I'm sure they would not mind you taking a chair, might be others there who will have to do the same thing,
It will be nice for you to see all the family. I know now you already told me that.
What about your daughter does she like the family and get togethers??0 -
HI Brenda & Trisher,
thanks for the cuppa - I'll pas on the biscuits thanks, as I am stuffed from eating far too many potato wedges for tea   we really misjudged how filling they were but we still ate them all     waste not want not and all that eh?
have had a good but tiring weekend thanks. Helped (instructed & observed) hubby putting up a bracket for a hanging basket someone gave us, and tidied up the garden a bit. DId a bit of washing too, but haven't got it dry as it kept looking like rain, and I didn't want to do what happened yesterday when the washing was dry three times but it rained every time before I could fetch it in
hope you both had a good weekend?
hugs

We have a big party like that in the park near us that used to be a huge event. I had all my satin cards I used to make on show. I had a lot of people look at them.
it was supposed to be about the 'Day Centre I used to go to.0 -
Hi Trish, Brenda, WOnky, hope everyone is as ok as possible. Good to hear you are having some time with family Trish, 5 weeks.
Had a nap, as I do, at t time, for a couple of hours, pizza and M&S croquettes for supper, which were very nice. Have some huge blueberry muffins in the cupboard, with double cream in the fridge, they are calling me, I can hear them singing.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
gosh Bubbles I must be full ...... even reading about them didn't make my mouth water tonight
so full i can't bear the thought of needing to take my tablets, but better go and get them   before I forget again
:roll:0 -
Its a massive concert, 70,000 people. You have to have permission to take chairs in, so I'll give them a ring tomorrow to check it out.
Our girl likes the get togethers but it took her a while to get comfortable with them, I think we're a formidabe lot when we get together and it can feel a bit overwhelming. But the family all love her to bits. She's a lovely girl and is good company. She is going out with her first real boyfriend at the mo, he seems nice, they spend a lot of time at ours, which suits me cos then I can keep an eye on her!!! He seems like a nice boy and he's getting used to us all now as well.
One of my sisters is coming to stay for the weekend and the rest will come for the day on Sunday, looking forward to it.

No, don't think it is shingles, I will diagnose it as lumpy-itis, will try and get to see either the Dr or the Podiatrist tomorrow, foot is driving me mad.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Hi Bibbles as it is still Sunday
If they are calling or singing can't you open the door and call back to them and then eat them???

you can catch shingles from what I remember if you have not had chickenpox before, then you can get chickenpox from touching the blisters etc. Once the blisters are all dried up, then it is ok. I think.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0

bubbles, do your lumpy-itis things look like they are just under the skin & look redder than the skin around them?
jsut asking cos I've got similar things on my arms which I've been putting down to the heat, only I have them on my thighs tonight (but did get very hot in the garden with jeans on earlier) and those ones itch :? :? :?
might be ringing my GP in the morning too  :roll:0 -
they are like little hard pimples, that itch, some blister, then leave dry scaly skin behind, my foot it worse, the ball of the foot and around my toes, there are dozens of them............eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww  :oops:XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0

My Hubby had Shingles a good while back. Made him quite bad. But he had had Chicken Pox. They said he was not contagious as he had it on his chest. He still had his own towels ect.
Why do they call it Chicken Pox do you know?0 -
just looked up prickly heat on the NHS choices site but neither sound like that :? :?
I give up and am going to bed as I am drooping now (took meds earlier tonight)
hope you all sleep well
hugs
