Began my working life in 1967, working as a labourer in a foundry.

Then I worked my way through FE college, working as a barman. At various points in my life, I have worked behind bars. After FE college, went to University and added to my grant by doing bar work and by typing out people's theses and dissertations (I can touch type).

A period of unemployment after University, then became a Youth Worker, and then began working with the homeless, particularly homeless young people. For a time I was the warden of a hostel for homeless teenagers (had to live in the hostel as part of the job).

Then began working with people with HIV & Aids, firstly for a voluntary organisations and then over a period of time for two different local authorities. In the second of these I was budget manager.

Finally, me and my partner gave up our jobs and moved to the Highlands to open a bookshop and restaurant (11 years ago).

    Best wishes,
    Kevin.

    Hi all

My jobs over the last 20 years have been:

    Admin Clerk
    Computer Technician
    Sales Ledger Clerk
    TV Engineer
    and currently:
Company Secretary of a small electrical retail business (which basically involves running the business and doing all the jobs - sometimes I'm a manager or shop assistant or doing admin or accounts etc).

Also along the way I sometimes had an extra evening job and have been a shop assistant, a barmaid and a silver service waitress.

Part Time Sales Assistant in Paperchase when I was at college
    Administrative Officer-Ministry of Defence
    Personal Assistant-MoD
Airline cabin crew for 3 airlines
    Office Manager-MoD

I'm a nursing student at uni now and also work part-time as a healthcare support worker (posh word for nursing auxiliary/assistant) on the local hospital's temp bank to fit around university hours and placements so I can work as much or as little as I like if shifts are available on various wards and departments.

I qualified as a painter and decorator in 1974.
Had a break from it from 1988 until 91 when I did chemical damp proofing, roofing and tile cladding on prefab concrete council houses.
Went back to painting until I was forced to retire on med grounds in 1997.

How I wish that I could do a job now!

    Compositor/Mac operator
    Barman (part time)
    Graphic Designer/printer/and anything else required
Sorry that's not as many as most of you, but I've only ever had two full time jobs - left the first after 25 years to emigrate to the UK from Oz. And I've been in the second for nine years now, not sure how I've survived that long ther though ... lol.
