    Hi Carol
Thanks for the compliment :D The mechanic I went to knows the family he works at the end of my nan and aunts streets so he's worked on everyones cars. My Boyfriend is also a qualified mechanic but as he doesn't work as a mechanic he has no garage or the right tools to sort it out for me.
I am keeping all the bus tickets haven't decided whether I will give the mechaic them or not but I am keeping them so I can one day repay my boyfriend who handed me £25 on sun before he went home for me to pay for the buses
Thats my philosophy too so I am waiting on some really good luck to happen to me! I so deserve it by now!

    Hi Elizabeth
I'm not on AA breakdown unfortunately I'm on Tesco's as I have my insurance with them.
So sorry for your friend, can't imagine what that would be like.

    Hi Tilly
I hope things improve for me too can't take anymore bad luck!

ARRRRR!!!! :x :x :x Stupid mechanic didn't fix my car today rang my parents and said its' not going to be ready til tomorrow night so not gonna b able to get it back til wed!

I am not a happy bunny! I expected it to be sorted today! I am missing my car and my friends in stafford, I've had enough of taking the buses to work. All the stress of it all has caused a flare up of both arthritis and psoriasis and has even caused extra joints to swell and become painful!

I am half tempted to charge the mechanic for the extra meds I'm gonna end up on because of the flare up and extra swelling!

Roll on Wed when I WILL get my car back!

I was wondering if it had been fixed and was going to find your thread today and enquire. Now I know. How frustrating! Let's hope he sticks to his word this time: if he values his health and well-being he had better! DD

:D:D:D FINALLY GOT MY CAR BACK!!!

My luck seems to have turned, Everything was done at work early yesterday so was told I could go at 5:30 which meant I could get into Derby for the 6pm bus, so I was able to go down to my home town by 6:30 and get across the park, I made it to the top of my grandparents road by 6:40 (which is when I would have caught the bus in derby if I hadn't been let out early) the mechanic was just about to turn off the road to go home. He saw me and asked me if I wanted it back at that point as he'd locked up I said I was planning on driving it home otherwise i'd end up having to wait ages for another bus. so he gave me a lift to his garage at the bottom and re-opened so I could get my car. So I did get it back on Tues just not at the time I wanted it back! Could not stop smiling last night as I looked out the window and saw my car :D

Now all I need is to get a new job lets hope the luck turn round works with that too!!!

lol I'm deffo singing at the top of my lungs!

For the first 2 days didn't have music as the mechanic had to take the battery out to change the starter motor which reset the code on the radio. as it was a used car the person before had written the code down and taken it out the book meaning I didn't know the code. by the end of the 2nd day (and after being stuck in a traffic jam) decided I couldn't go anymore days without music. was going to get the code on fri before I went to work but ended up being called in earlier so had my mp3 and headphones on full blast and wrapped round my neck so i had a hint of music.

finally got the code on sat before going off to my boyfriends for the weekend. was so nice to be driving down the a38 with disturbed blarring out :D

Well car is working fantastically now, cashwise it's not too gud, tried paying for something the other day, card was declined. found out i had maxed out my overdraft, luckily i had saving so had to dip into them, not got a lot left in it now. done some math and as long as i don't eat i should just about be able to survive!

I am soooo ready for a new job like now!!!!

    Hi Babycham

Don't worry I'm fine I'm just about surviving, my wonderful boyfriend bought me a few food items at the weekend so got enough to get by. He's budgeted me for everything and is going to help me keep an eye on my finances. I'm so lucky to have him :D

I'm now thinking I should have perhaps called this thread just having one of those lifes!
mechanic didn't fix my car properly, yes he did sort out my alternater and starter motor so car is running good however my boyfriend thinks he must have rushed through it as i noticed last wk my lights were not working, boyfriend changed the bulb then realised none of the lights on one side were working. turns out the mechanic hadn't reattached the lights! he also hadn't put in three little screws that keep my bumper on and also had only clipped the side panel on with 2 attachments. its a wonder it didn't fly off whilst i was driving to work! boyfriend is now going to spend next weekend going through everything on my car with a fine toothcomb!

on fri the dial on my cooling fan went so can't turn the thing up!

i'm still in the midst of a flare up, my ring finger is twice the size it normally is and is extremely warm!

also so ready to move out of my house. my housemate had booked last week off and ended up having a complete go at me reducing me to tears claiming i don't clean properly and i haven't done anything in the garden this year like i did last year.

think she expects me to get down on my hands and knees and scrub under everything (which as you will all know is a difficult task when you have arthritic knees!)

decided to help her in the garden on thurs, i sat on the floor and managed somehow to shuffle my way along the driveway and pull up all the weeds paid the price though as on fri and the rest of the weekend my hand hurt!

I feel so on edge living here now.

I feel like nothing is going right at the moment

lou i think you had better sit her down and explain that some jobs you can no longer do and tell her you will do other jobs instead to keep things fair. you can get long handled gardening tools and grabbers to help so you do not have to get all the way down. if you move out where will you go and will you be any happier there think it through you are facing so many changes at the moment it no time for big decisions hugs val

can i just please catch a break!!!

I am now losing hours at work due to the fact i cannot go under the stage to get equipment out, I protested as i cannot afford losing the hours but all they kept saying was the other staff are having to do more work because you can't do certain things. (bear in mind we also have equipment on the stage which i can get out and i can get the tables and chairs out and set things out in the room) but the protests fell on deaf ears. it just doesn't seem fair when is all this going to end! i bearly have enough money for food as it is.

I do do a lot of things around the house, i have time during the day to do the housework and I buy the milk and toiletries and cleaning stuff when we run out and I mow the lawn when the weathers nice and water the plants when the weather has been nice to keep them hydrated.

me and my boyfriend want to move in together so i will be happier, he understands my limitations and helps me through things. he's so wonderful and i don't know what i would do without him! he's my rock!

Lou i really am so sorry .I suppose even flatmates can be a bit mean in her idiot way its almost a compliment as though you are without any disabillities at all I would nick some of her food or hide a favourite top or something just keep smiling at her and start looking for somewhere else if she is being like this a lot its just not good for you sorry about the car to having a bit of the same this week having to rely on friends and family for lifts One day when you are with your boyfriend in your own place this rubbish will be in the past and you will get by its just time you had a few lucky breaks I really am just so sorry Lou.LoveBabychamxxx

don't think i will do that, it'd be like i'm lowering myself to her level. she said she was stressed out with work and that the cleaning and garden just tipped her over the edge so i got the brunt of everything!
my car is still drive-able its just that the lights are still a bit dodgy, the wipers need changing, i need a new wingmirror, the coolant is still leaking so it needs a new seal, the cooling fan has stopped working and the seal underneath the car needs patching up. thats all so far, just waiting for something else to go wrong on it!
I am living on the thought that one day me and my boyfriend will have our own place!

You can only do what you can do and if that is not good enough that is not your problem.

Look how hard you had to try to get to work with no car. You had to go ealier get home later.

You do what you can then if that is not good enough that is not your fault.

You be careful what you do you might hurt yourself then you won't be able to do anything tell your flatmate that in as nice as possible way you can.

I no i've had enough of it all!
I'm unhappy at work especially with the loss of hrs.
I'm unhappy at home as I feel on edge all the time.
I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to find another job as all the stress and worry that has been caused by my car and my lack of money and everything else that has been thrown at me has caused a flare up and I'm worrying that it will seem like I would be a hinderance to any new place.
my head is completely swimming with what I need to pay for and how I'm going to pay for food and my prescription and now my car again!
Nothing seems to be going right or getting any better, I don't know how much more I'm going to be able to cope with.

I do feel really down at the moment, as I said I just feel like nothing is going right. It was suggested I be given time off but I said I cannot afford it. I need all the hours I can get especially with the reduction in hours. I'm dreading xmas I know its a few months off but I'm not going to be able to buy for anyone!
I haven't told my parents, don't want to worry them. plus I would feel such a failure (more so than i do now). particulary as both my little brothers are so succesful in the army. I am so grateful for my boyfriend as I said before he's my rock.
