Hi Lou,
Sorry to hear you getting a rough deal ! House mate and employers!!! mechanic!!
Keep looking for that new job something will turn up and then you can move to the new area / new home with your BF and half your probs will disappear! keep positive (know thats easy to say) dont let them grind you down, at work you do your fair share have a word with the person in charge if its a school, headmaster (sorry can't rem) they should be supportive!
How do they treat children with disabilities? get my drift?
As for your housemate, well you do your fair share there too! you could do a list/ rota so she can see just how much you do! Share jobs etc. hope that helps.
Hope things pick up ((((hugs)))

Oh Lou
You poo rpoor girl
I am so not sure they can cut your hors like that due to your disability! Are you able to ring someone like ACAS? oR cab for advice?? Might even be discrimination.
Anyway I am cross with them.
I am so glad you have your O/H and i hope you two do move in together - it might just change your luck around
You take crea
Love

Thanks Guys
I work at a schools out club so no headteacher to talk to. it was the person in charge of the setting that told me their putting me in at 7:30 instead of 7 so as of next wk I'm driving to work in the morning which takes half an hr to work 1 and a half hrs to drive half an hr back then again at 2 i'll be driving to work working 3 and a half hrs and driving back. so all in all i will be working 24 1/2 hrs a wk less than that sometimes I can't live off that!!! I can barely live on what I do at the moment!!!
They probably can't do that but again they don't work by the book. I was put back to £6 an hr last aug but only found out in june this year when I found a piece of paper stating how much i get, i thought thats wrong I should be on £6.50 so went back over my pay slips and found out the paper was right. I'd had no notification of it.
I was pulled out of managing one club and stuck in the one i work at now with no managerial role and with no notice,
i was made to go on a course then to sign something saying i'd have to pay back any money given to me for doing the course if i left within 3 yrs
i was given a written warning without a verbal warning and we we're all given a new fleece then told that we would have to pay for them (which i can't afford to do).
so i repeat my work does not work by the book!
the sooner i get out the better! (and hopefuly without having to pay the course money back!)

I think your work is breaking a few rules here. They should notify you in writing if pay is to be reduced/ amended/ increased. You should have a contract that states this. If they havent given you a contract of employment they should have. As for the fleece it may depend on your contract. Are they reducing it from your salary or asking for cash? I bet they are claiming it as expenses to the tax man!
I would ask CAB for advice,
The car left outside of our house has now gone at last as friends other car broke down so he needed it.

Hi B/Cham
I've slept as much as I usually do.
sorry its taken so long to reply I've not been online for a few days.
I know my parents would like to know but I know they would say to move back and I don't want to be doing that it would be like taking a million steps backwards, I've done that once before and it made me feel worse. I am a highly independant person and even though I would still have that independance I would feel like I don't.
I'm just about managing my money and am spending my days searching for a new job. I am determined I will get somewhere soon, I need to!

well now i'm getting no choice in having to move back to my parents. my housemate and her boyfriend are getting a place and i cannot afford a place on my own so at the age of 27 i'm going back! she told me on mon night that she will be going before the end of oct so I have less than a month left here! at the moment i feel like i've got nowhere in life, i'm still stuck at the same job i started at uni and as i said before i'll be living with my parents again. feel like nothing is going right for me! with everything going wrong i'm petrified something is going to happen to my boyfriend! for once i just want my life to go right!
Lou

Just treat the move back home as a chance to save a few pennies towards a home with the boyfriend.
My daughter has a degree and has been earning minimum wage since leaving university. She feels frustrated too and has been applying for countless jobs but not succeeding. It feels such a waste....

Things never stay the same ..your flat mate was always a numpty of the first order you are so much better of without her. Please just take each day as it comes and your parents will be so pleased to have you home again anyway xxxxBabycham
I know its just not fair. life needs to stop testing me! lol the numpty comment made me laugh, and yeah just been on a certain social website (don't want to get in trouble for naming it) and my mum put her status as 'although it will be temporary, i welcome my eldest back with open arms!!!' which i thought was sweet.

Hi Loopylou
Don't look at it as a set back, just a stop gap - kind of breathing space to get yourself sorted. You will be able to save some money and not have to worry about some of the things you have had to of late.
I know it is not ideal living with your parents but make the most of it. I will also put some boundaries in place so you can keep your independence. Let them know what you need them to do - but also make your own decisions.
I think you are taking control of a situation that you were not in control with your flat mate. Make sure that she helps with cleaning out the flat etc etc when you move out.
Job market - boy it is tough out there. It does not matter what qualifications you have - but just keep looking and trying - that is all you can do.
Let us know how you get on.
Take care Fayann xx
PS I love hearing you talk about Derby as I went to University there and spent 3 very happy years there. It feels like a long time ago now. I still visit as my sister and Mum live close by.0 -

yeah my BF said that last night. I know how your daughter feels. It's made worse by the fact I am the first person in my family ever to go to university (actually I am the only one ever to go to university) yet I am struggling with life whereas my brothers (both younger) struggled at school but have a great life now (both soldiers). Its like school, college and university means squat when it comes to real life! I hope your daughter succeeds soon!

Hi Fayann
yeah my BF said that too! love him so much don't know what I would do with out him. He said i'd be able to get myself sorted and be able to save for a place of our own in the new yr!
I won't lose my independence my parents are great like that, it just that I won't feel comfortable doing certain things such as staying in bed til gone 12 on a sun or grabbing a little pot of cereal to eat like popcorn whilst watching a film as when I was growing up I was told off for staying in bed too long and as I am overweight for eating certain things, I know I shouldn't let it bother me but it will!
yeah I will make sure she helps clean up don't worry about that one!
I am keeping on the job hunt, been filling in some application forms thins morning. did look outside the box and try for anything but anything else I looked at required experience in that field so it proved fruitless as I only have childcare experience!
I will let you all know how I get on! you'll know when things finally go my way as will start a new thread with a load of smily faces!
I went to Derby uni, i loved my time there too. uni was a time of no money worry and socialising, I had a life!

What did you study at university? What sort of jobs are you looking for?
Would you be able to do any voluntary work in the sector that you are looking for work in? I know it is a pain, but sometimes it is who you know that will get you a job and then you will be able to put it on your CV. Just a thought.
Ps - lay in on a sunday and don't feel bad about it!!!
Fayann xxx0 -
I started on a B Ed primary Education course but had to switch after the first yr as i'd failed placement. I then started a BA Education Studies as i'd collected enough credits I started that straight in the 2nd yr.
what did you study?
I'm looking for a teaching assistant job. i hope to be able to work out doing some sort of voluntary work in schools i will have a time restraint though as i work 7-9 am and 2:30-6pm and so only have a certain time in the middle of the day to do so. i'd have to leave early depending on where it would be in order to get to work. plus as its childcare i'd have to do a crb check form and because of the new system its taking forever to process them, someone at work is still waiting for their new one to come through and they sent it off at the end of july!
i know i shouldn't feel guilty about it but i will.

Hi Lou
I studied Development Studies - a specialist Geography degree focusing on developing countries. It was very interesting, had some lovely people on my course and enjoyed my time. I am also the only person to go to university in my family so I know exactly how you feel. I am also the unemployed one although I have more qualifications than all of them put together. (I have 3 sisters)
Yes - voluntary work for teaching assistant post would be perfect. A good step into a school and valuable on your CV. They do come up - teachers always need help. I am sure they would accept all the help they can get. Even if it is just for 1-2 hours in the morning (just once a week to start with) to help listen to child read etc. I know you commute into work - so it would need to be near your work or your home. Do you travel back in between your shift times? That is a pain isn't.
Is the after school club based at a school or somewhere else?
Take care
Fayann xxx0 -
Hi Fayann
it is a very frustrating thing isn't it!
yes i travel back, i work in derby but live in nottinghamshire, takes me half an hr to get to work so spend 2 hrs every weekday driving to work and back. it is a big pain!
the club is based in a church hall not far from the uni.

wow i haven't been on here for quite a while, I've been settling back down at my parents house and trying in vain to get my life back on track.
so heres the catch up! still job searching, got an interview on wed so here's hoping my luck is going to change soon!
car is sort of up and running properly still gotta sort out the leaking coolant tank. but the heater (which decided to pack up) is now working properly although after the alternater went I'm scared of having it blasting out hot as thats what indicated me about the alternater! after everything that went wrong with my car though it actually passed its MOT! my amazing boyfriend is helping me sort out the little things with my car.
still struggling for money but as got no bills and less money to pay for living back here getting there slowly! ask me again after xmas though!
my wrist has settled down again same with my shoulder and my knee is feeling a lot better, hand still bothers me but at least my major flare up has gone down!
so all in all think i may be getting somewhere very slowly but surely!
hope everyone is ok!
