    Hi Toni

He was actually pretty good! The operated on hip is so much better than it was only a couple of weeks ago. The wound isn't even tender now & apart from stiffness when I first start walking after sitting, its pretty good.

But the other hip is SO bad - constant pain in the hip. Regular pain in the groin. Outbursts of stabbing pain in the hip and knees!

I'll have to go back to work before the 2nd op or my sick pay won't cover the time off for the second op.

If I go back ist Nov I still have 2 mths sick on full pay. And 7 weeks annual leave still to take. I pretty much think 15 weeks would be enough time to recover from the op but need t check these rules with my HR.

    How are you doing?

    Mike :)

Morning mike - I have only just spotted your question! How am I doing? Well, the social answer is fine! Real answer, seeing as we are here? Awful. I hope you continue to improve, you seem to be doing fine! DD

Just the arthritis. And the meds. And the lack of sleep. And the pain. And the weather. Apart from that, everything's dandy! :D

    Fine and Dandy DD

    Mike

You must check out what you are entitled to with HR - a simple error could naff it all up

Sounds so as though the other one needs doing ASAP!

    Hi Speedy

Just seen your last post to me! Sorry not to habe replied sooner but I didn't notice it.

At the time - about 5 weeks ago - I had just resumed using one crutch on the operated on side.

I continued with that pretty much all the time until about 2 weeks ago. Since then I've found I've had to use it on the unoperated side as the arthritis there seems to be getting worse.

Having said that, its a little better this w/end.

Anyway, back to work next Monday & hope to have 2nd op within 3-6 mths. :|

    How about you mate?

    Mike :)

Well, good luck for next Monday - I think you will be pleased about that, won't you? I am sorry that the unoperated hip is so troublesome - is that just deterioration or the contrast the the new one? DD

Hi Mike, good to see you posting.

The other hip op is needed isn't it, hopefully time will fly.

So you start work next Monday?! I go back to work next week too.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
