Iris    I'm flabbergasted again

their ineptitude ( and all those other fab words DD came up with ) is unbelievable. I am so sorry to hear that you had such a rough morning after all you have been through this weekend.

sending you loads of love and hugs, and littlelegs is on her way .... in your choice of outfit ...... her best nurses uniform ....... or full riot gear ready to storm DWP :lol::lol::lol:

Thanks again Elaine, DD, Elna, Wonky, Cris and all :D

Elna.. I've now had copious amounts of tea.... and fully intend insisting on a telephone interview. x

DD I'm saving you for when I need all those wonderful adjectives!!

Cris.. I have calmed down now (a little) and do have my MP well and truly on my side...

everyone...I've had an e-mail back from my MP's PA!. here's a little extract:

I think that it was downright incompetent on the part of DWP to have you struggling for an interview on a date - with a little thought from a DWP employee – would have known full well their offices wouldn’t be open. Shocking service to a constituent in your condition....

    good eh?

Elaine please rescue sol  and pop any stray beans back in... poor wee mite!:lol:

The satellite office that JobcentrePlus office use where I live was closed... but the neighbouring town comes under Hamilton and their JCP was open; they just 'forgot' to change the venue on my appointment letter. :? ( truth be told...? I wouldn't have been willing to go there anyway!!!)

Wonky... my flaber is well and truly gasted too.! please do send little legs in her full riot gear.... then they'll know I mean business.:lol:

thanks again to everyone who's been supporting me..yet again! no matter what happens , you always know how to make me smile... I am eternally grateful to know such lovely peeps.

Hey Barbara :!: fighting talk  I love it :lol:

between little legs in riot gear... beany sol (now fixed) ... hope and wally the dwp don't stand a chance.:lol:

When I write my letter of complaint I'll be telling them there's worse than me to come.:lol:

Elaine..I'm glad you've fixed sol.. we need him! ... and wally and I can drive short distances.x
Toni.. I haven't heard the word 'twonk' used in ages!!!:lol:
Marion... It is unbelievable I know... worse is the banal attitude of their employees... the 'interviewer thought that I would accept the apology and explanation without a murmur. No matter that the closed office they sent me to is in the middle of a shopping precinct so no parking anywhere near...I was forced to walk to it and from it with screaming knees. :x

oops ..I'd better stop or I'll be ranting..again!

    Morning Iris

How are the knees today? I hope getting better?

I want to swear a lot where benefits issues are concerned, but I try not to - i am naturally a conformist - hence - TWONK

Glad to hear that Sol is repaired now - phew - yes Elaine - if it was that esay I'd fix us all up - I have inherited my Mum's sewing box - have all colours of cotton too  (hope you gave him a general?)

    Love

Hello dorcas, I hope your knees are feeling a little better today. Actually, that's a lie: I am hoping for much better! I am still fuming about yesterday but unfortunately have failed to come up with any of the missing adjectives: I am suffering from a truly appalling lack of concentration at the moment. Take care, keep resting whenever possible and keep warm. DD

    Hi Iris,

Hope said she will bring her friends as well...... They wont be in ribbons but might have got hold of miss L. Legs's supplier for riot gear, they really should head for the hills now! Still annoyed for you though....

Hope the knees will show some actual improvement and hopefully you can rest them more today? Its hard to say how log after the jabs the drug stops working , I know my last lumber one I didn't think had helped but it had very slowly and was still helping 4 weeks later..... Much prefer instant stuff but the steroid jabs are so different each time.

Leaving you a (((( )))) some knee drafts, a cuppa, some white chocolate, some dandelions cus you haven't had them fr a while and a bowl of soup cus its going cold. xxx

Thanks Toni, DD, Cris, Elaine and Tilly :D

Knees less swollen but just as painful.... must have been awake about 6 times last night.... every time I need to turn/ change position the pain jolts me eyes wide open. I'm already taking the max meds and have a pillow under the knees.
.....any other ideas? suggestions most welcome

Elaine... we might have to take out a 'frog protection order' for poor Sol...no anaesthetic..  and not even the right colour thread . shameful neglect. :lol:

I've emailed my complaint letter to jobcentre plus so will wait and see what happens next.

My car's in the garage again..(long boring story) and guess what I've been given through motabilty as a courtesy car??? a great big, brand new, black, automatic Mercedes Benz E250..... had great trouble finding the handbrake cause there ain't one. :| it's a foot /hand brake. I'm too scared to drive it...it's such a monster! and in any case when the boys in blue see me behind the wheel they'll think I've stolen it.:lol: ... I could see Hope in her best dress and pink ribbons getting away with it though.:lol:

hope you're all having a good day.

Wow Iris..... hope can go in the back and shove over cus this one I should like to drive  Might even ware the pink ribbons... now if it were a Jag I would have them on already :lol::lol:

As you know I got a better car when mind failed the mot... auto and a bit bigger than the last one. So much better and even the full instead of power assisted steering helps....... Its a bit more to insure (about 40 more) is a bit heavier on petrol and the real downside double the tax but so much easier to drive.... I mean so much easier.....

I really do hope things will sort out quickly for you. i don't have as much faith in mp's but it does sound like yours is on the ball and not just humouring you.

Hope said she wants ago and when she was very young she did hitch a ride in a 5.3 Jag :lol: See both her and I have champagne tastes on cheap lemonade money :lol::lol: She has more chance of earning some now than I do :lol::lol:

Hang in their girl..... we shall mix you a brew to make it all come right for you. ((((( ))))) and a jealous side glance at the Merc  xx

Regarding the waking up with pain - either text me and we'll have a natter OR add half a bottle of white wine to the pain meds, I swear it makes 'em work better. Gin also effective. :D One can also occupy the mind with alphabet lists, that is surprisingly soporific. DD

    Hi Iris

Hope your knees settle down soon - sorry I have no suggestions for easing the pain, but I do find that trying to spell words backwards in my head helps me get off to sleep (honestly, I didn't make that up - I read it somewhere and tried it out and it works for me).

Wow - the car sounds fab - make the most of the luxury whilst you can.

    Speak to you soon.

hi Iris, just catching up with your post. Sorry to hear you've been traipsing around for a non-existent appointment. How frustrating but glad you've got them to agree to do a telephone one. How on earth are you supposed to be getting back to work if you can't get to their blooming offices? You'd think they would put 2 & 2 together!

Oh Iris how ridiculous ... I hope you told her that their clerical error has put you further back on the pathway and has negatively impacted on your efforts to manage your condtion ...

I hope your MP puts a rocket up their *!*!*!

You are right though, if you feel at all rough next time you have one of their silly interviews - just ring up and say you are not able to attend.

Hope your knees settle down soon.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Sorry dorcas, been dialtory here, head all over the place. I hope things are improving and that you are OK. Have you drowned yet? I saw the weather forecast in the hospital this morning and the whole of Scotland was a sea of blue, which I took to be rain, not flooding, but who can tell? Get thee to high ground anyway, just in case. DD
