Morning salamander, I hope things are still improving for you - slowly improving is better than not. I am off to the theatre on Saturday - 2.5 hours crammed into a small seat with no legroom, followed by dinner out, again sitting for too long but eating - I do like eating! Sunday will be painful, but what the hell. So is every other bl**dy day! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

hi DD, sore arm from flu jab but that's nothing. Back on the amitrip so sleeping better, which is something.
Hope you enjoy the theatre and it's worth the effort! Funnily enough, my cousin asked me if I could manage the theatre (think she is going to take me to something.) Tricky one as I can do it but don't enjoy it very much, partially for the reasons you've said. It has to be very good to be worth the pay back of discomfort and it depends entirely on what one is going to see.
How are things with you these days in any case? Feeling a bit better than last week?0 -
The polite, social answer is yes, I'm fine. The proper answer (which ia all that anyone should give on here) is no. Thanks to the humira on Monday I can move better around the house, so the crutches are temporarily retired, which is a good thing. I lack energy to a frightening degree (despite the steroids) but have to ignore that as my cleaner has let me down for two weeks in a row and I have to start wrestling with the vacuum and everything else. This afternoon wil be spent on the sofa waiting for my knees to deflate. Then I have to cook and they will inflate again! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I have come to the conclusion that healthy people must lead very boring lives. Where is the challenge in being able to do what you want to do without any payback? How dull is that? No, you should never give the polite answer! I'm sorry you are having a difficult time and cleaning is hopeless with arthritis! I've got a new cleaner starting today, she is very good and I've realised how dirty the place had got as can't do much myself. The lack of energy is a real problem. I find it makes me very depressed when I can't do things.
I am feeling a lot better today in spite of my flu jab. The rheumy nurse said I might get a flare but the opposite seems to have happened. Let's hope it lasts!0 -
Hi Sal
Sorry I havent been on this thread.
You've got a lot of good advice....I know this week I was / am feeling like that...ready to bubble at the least little thing.
I think it may be to do with the fact that today I should be having my 2 THR but it has been put off.
This weather {today in the North East } is absolutely dreadful
Misty/foggy/drizzly....not the sort of day I feel like dragging myself out but I know I'll feel better. My hubby is dragging me outthis afternoon and dropping me at an indoor shopping mall {on my scooter} then he is going to work and will pick me up again.
Dont every feel you cant come on her.
Love

thanks Hileena, everyone's so great, really helps. A lot of us seem to have been feeling a bit down this week, wonder why - apart from the obvious of course! It's horrible to have ops put off as you psych yourself up for them and it's a real let down. Sorry to hear the weather is rubbish up there. Here in London it's been glorious and sunny but cold in the shade! Perhaps it might move up your way over the weekend.
xx0 -
Hope you are right about the weather Sal but I have my doubts
It was lovely here yesterday but very cold in the evening

Hey Salamander,

Morning salamander, how goes things today? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Hileena, St. Lu & DD, Got a bit of a bad throat and temperature yesterday evening and joints bad last night so promised flare here! Slept 10 hours last night though! Feel lazy this morning, am going to take it easy today - seeing family tonight including my gorgeous niece - so need a bit of energy later.
Had an orthotics appointment yesterday where I was told the orthotic inserts that podiatry had given me were a complete waste of time. I think they made my ankles feel worse! So am getting some made to measure ones and maybe some shoes later in the year.
Hi Cris, hope you are getting the gang ready for Wed! Am trying not to pin all my hopes on the appointment. Hard not to but trying to be realistic. How are you today?
DD,hope you have a lovely time at the theatre tonight.0 -
Ten hours sleep? I would seriously kill for that. I scraped together about three hours in total! Ho hum. Take it easy today salamander and build your strength for the later celebrations - sound like a good time is in the offing!
It's a shame about the inserts but one never know until one tries. Hopefully the next lot will work better.
Right, I have to go and start the grooming ritual that will turn this tatty-haired, flaky-skinned moomin into a temptress of the first order. The play, however, starts at 2.30 so I fear I might have left it too late, a shower will have to suffice! The Importance of Being Earnest here I come. I look like Dame Edith Evans, I could be useful to them as an understudy! Thank you for remembering I am going out, salamander, that is kind of you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
salamander wrote:thanks Venita, seems as if it can be a common problem. I haven't seen my doctor yet. To be honest am bored with ringing about one thing and another but what I have done is start taking the amitriptyline again which I had stopped. Sleeping better and feel a bit calmer. Will talk to gp soon.
thanks for your support.

Hi Hileena, thanks for thinking of me! I'm okish, joints painful but had a lovely evening last night. Hope you are going somewhere nice!
xx0 -
hi DD, things are ok thanks though my knee is agony today. Had a lovely evening last night, lot of fun and laughter.
How was Earnest?
xx0 -
I am so glad you enjoyed yourself last night. Ernest was very good indeed, as was the dinner after. I also managed to fit in a little bargain shopping in Monsoon en route from the theatre to the pub! Payback is in full swing, but I am just blowing it large, and repeated, raspberries. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Yes, it's hard to do it sometimes. Rest in between things maybe...? Just do what is necessary and prioritise. It's easy for me to say but harder to do!
Hope it goes ok for you.

Hi Sally,
Well flower 2 days now... you can't count today and you can't count wens its self.
I know what you mean that all we do is make it to each appointment but this one will hopefully really help you and all I can say is we shall all be in that pocket of yours so your not in their alone.
Sending you a (((((( )))))) and so many hopes your feeling ok as well as feeling ok? Hope you had a good time yesterday and the brownies went down well? Cris xx0 -
Thanks Cris, I am counting the days! I've had a great weekend as it happens, lots of people around and good fun. Takes the mind off things.
How are you getting along? Haven't checked your thread but will have a look in later on.
xx0 -
Hi Sally,
Really glad you have had a good week end. People about often helps eh?
I a bit better actually, except for the swelling in my neck and shoulder but they will be gone come hell or high on wens cus she will stop the spasms So will be in your pocket pain free and possible doped with local and so well able to nudge your ribs if you forget to say how you are.
Sally I am sorry its sort of sounds threatening......
I promise I am just as good at waiting outside and lurking.
You got your list? I tend not to use one...... I have been seeing my rumo for almost 10 years now and he knows I will (sometimes with a bit of prompting) tell him how I am..... or how much its getting to me.
I really hope you can do the same....... If not just tell us and we will tell them for you. Someone once said to me to print a post I had done and show it to them but I didn't cus by then it was so huge it all came flying out. I really do hope you find this one is someone you have a bit of faith and confidence in, not so much for how they can help you but as someone who see's you as a whole being.
Hell if I had known I'd go on so long I would brought water
Flower just remember you are not alone in all this and well lets really go for us both getting a good appointment eh? ((((( ))))) and a bit of cat nip for your lady. Cris xx0
