Hi all.. Kath sorry about the persistent itching & hope you can get somewhere on Wednesday, will hope you do. Don't hardly see any starlings, was just saying the other day. Used to all perch in rows along the opposite roof & the aerials. Numbers can't be down everywhere, then. You're welcome to laugh at my spider caper, that's what other people's troubles of that sort are for.

Barbara I've never tried a spray as it isn't that I get lots and I guess I think you can't expect to get none ever. It's just the big ones that are a bridge too far for me. I like your wasp story, that is just what I'd do. I once trapped a spider in a plastic fruit punnet thing that I had sellotaped a stick to so I didn't have to get near. Before I knew it the beast had got out of a hole and was halfway up the stick towards me. :o That's a short notice break you've booked up, how nice, have a lovely time, say hello to the sea for me. Lovely to go where you have stayed before & know the facilities etc. Will wave you off tomorrow if you are not off too early. :D

I'm using FF browser currently, what don't you like about it Kath? I get on better than with GC but I suppose it depends. And applerose's sil obviously feels GC has the edge. Your blackbird is practically a pet applerose, love hearing about him. Does he still have the big-boned wife? Hope he is not too bedraggled with feeding chicks, they do tend to get a bit harassed-father looking around now. How is your local boundary issue going?

Hi to everyone else; mig, hope marrianne is ok, & that your hydrotherapy helped, joan.

    Kettle time, toady xx

Barbara, you mentioning spider spray reminded me that I read somewhere that conkers keep spiders away. I've not tried it but guess you'd need quite a few around the house. That made me giggle about the wasp and the cd. That's like the sort of thing I'd do. So you're off to Llandudno tomorrow. have a lovely time. My dad went there a couple of years ago and loved it. You're right. Bubbles hasn't been around for a while. Hope she's ok. And Mr O. Won't be long before you're eating your strawberries and potatoes. My potatoes have grown to about 4 feet high but the tubs are only about 2 and a half so they're leaning right over.

Joan, hope you enjoyed the hydro this afternoon. Wouldn't mind that myself.

Mig, those peppers sound delicious. I'll have to try them.

Toady, I was just thinking today that there don't seem to be any starlings about at the moment. I normally get a flock of them when I put the food out but there aren't any at the moment. Ha ha, the blackbird's wife doesn't look so big now. Maybe she was full of eggs. I did notice he had a sticky-up hairdo yesterday so yes, I think he is rather harassed, especially as his Mrs doesn't seem to help. She just feeds herself and watches while he does all the work. Thought there was only 1 baby but there were 2 yesterday. Our local council has asked our borough council to write to the boundary commission to ask them to have a look at it. It sounds as if Yorkshire will be happy to have us back.

Hope everyone has had a good start to the week.

Its not looking good at home. Looks like my children and I will have to leave as OH is angry about the car. Obviously his parents trip out means more to him than his family.
I've seen him in a ndifferent light today.

Joan I am not too much troubled by pain since the new meds have been helping the past year or 2, it is mostly tiredness that bothers me but that is partly down to me to pace myself better. Thank you for asking, hope you are okish today & the heat is not too bad for you.

Oh Elizabeth, I do hope you are ok. Sorry Oh is so angry about the car. I hope he calms down and realises your situation. Take care of yourself. (((hugs)))

Barbara, glad you arrived safe and well. Hope you have a lovely time and the right weather to go with it.

Mig, those shoes must be good if you're ordering more. I remember you telling us about them.

Joan, hope you've been well today.

Toady it is difficult pacing yourself, isn't it? I try to get as much done as possible when I feel up to it but not sure that's the right way to go about it.

Called in to T*sc* today for a couple of things and ended up spending rather a lot on clothes for one of my GDs. They were in the sale and only £2-3 each. There was nothing for the others but it looked like they had just started reducing them. I'll have to try and get back soon. Got home to find the drain in between mine and next door's was overflowing again. It always flows in to my garden. :( We need to get someone out about 3 times a year to clear it. The man arrived about an hour ago. He's really good. old me the water board would clear it or mend it if anything was actually broken at no cost to us. We used to pay £75 a time.

Glad you are all set barbara :) and that the tablet is working at least even if it's awkward - that's what I found trying someone's - otherwise I might have got one. Weather has been lovely here so hope it keeps up.

Hope you are ok TK & hope you call in sometime soon. x

Sorry about your drain applerose, you don't want that in your garden :? I suppose it's something that the chap was good & helpful. Glad blackbird snr. is ok and has 2 blackbirds jnr., even if he is a little overworked. No starlings round your way either then, it must be a regional thing. Maybe all yours have gone to Yorkshire already, ahead of any proposed changes. A question of wait & see on that front, then. Pacing, yes, it's not my forte after all this time, some of it's bad discipline but sometimes the only way to get things done is while you have got some 'momentum' going (or so it seems). No doubt that's not an excuse strictly speaking.. more haste less speed, blah blah

You must be glad of the shoes being such a success mig, what a difference something being 'right' can make. I tend to duplicate if I find a good item, possibly to the point of stockpiling. Don't like the thought of going back to square one.

Hope everyone has as good a night as possible, toady xx

My new shoes have arrived ,they're all shiny, fit like a glove ,hubby was so impressed we printed the men's fitting and measuring guide and ordered him some shoes ,they have a sale on at the moment,he wouldn't pay full price saying they were too expensive as he doesn't get vat relief on them. Toady, would you believe it. I got home this afternoon and looked out of the kitchen window to see about 8 starlings in the garden. Wonder if I haven't seen them because I stand at the kitchen door or in the garden while the blackbirds eat the food so the starlings didn't come in.

Good to hear you've got good weather Barbara. How lovely to have a sea view from the room.

Happy new shoes Mig. Hope your hubby likes his when they arrive.

I'm at the physio tomorrow afternoon, after waiting 9 weeks. I was thinking of cancelling as the pulled muscle isn't too bad now but, if it goes again, I'll probably have another 9 weeks to wait.

Hope all are well and enjoying this lovely weather.

I had my Dermatology appointment yesterday. They still don't know what exactly is making me itch, but it seems to be something to do with my blood and the veins in my legs. I've had 3 more blood tests and something called Dopplers (not Doppler scan). It's a bit like a blood pressure check, but instead of using a stethoscope to listen when they pump up the cuff, they use a pointy thing. They did it on my right arm, and both ankles. The right leg definitely has a vascular problem, the pressure was 190, although the left isn't as bad, only 150. The doc said last time my LFT was a little high, so they checked that again. The nurse advised me to wear flight socks or similar, and keep my legs raised when in bed. She also said to keep walking, or stretching my feet out and back again to help the bad stuff flow out of my veins instead of it pooling. I go back in 8 weeks time, on 13th August at 9:40am. They also gave me another small tube of steroid cream - CoboDerm. I don't mind finding that I have another health problem, just another one to add to the ever growing list, I just wished it didn't itch. Wearing the flight socks now, and I have to admit my legs and feet do feel a bit better. And so the quest continues.

Wow, how quiet it is in here. Only you and I in today Kath. Still no answer to the itching and more blood tests. At least you seem to be a little better with the flight socks.

I went for my first physio session today. Why are male physios so good looking? I remember seeing one quite a few years ago and he was too. Apparently, I haven't pulled a muscle. I have a bulging disc which should sort itself out but I need to do some exercises to loosen the muscles in my back as they are very tight. One hip is higher than the other possibly because I carry most heavy stuff on one side. And no bending forward. I have to bend my knees if I need to reach down. He told me, now that I'm going to be seeing him for a few weeks, I'm in rehab so I have to listen to what he says and do as I'm told.

Hope everyone who hasn't been in is doing ok.

    Hello all
Just to let you know we are back, I see that Elizabeth has not been in since I am hoping it has got sorted in a good way for her..I have been worrying about her..
Christine good you have got the first physio over with ..I do hope it helps or did I read that the hip was nearly better sods law that is mind you the time you have waited  good looking eh yeah I had one in hospital I went all hot ,,you do has you are told..Its a good job you went ...a bulging disc like he say be very careful bending I was told the same..and don't lift heavy things
Kath so sorry they haven't really found out what is causing the itching...good that they have picked up on the vascular prob and hopefully that can be sorted..quite a few blood things cause itching..
No Toady hope all is well..I will put some pics on later
and I see that Mig has her shoes brilliant nothing better than comfy shoes
We have had a lovely time apart from me not being able to walk very far ..its sit walk and so on..gosh I remember the day prob only 4 years ago now I would walk for ever ..sorry bet you are thinking at least you got away... :) we are shocked at how vicious the seagulls have got they were attacking anyone with food and knock down kiddy over for his ice cream ..we were watching there tactics...very clever they are

Ah, a cuppa, lovely :) and a very nice thing when you get back in after a journey home from hols. Glad you are back and had a nice time apart from not walking as far as once.. yes I couldn't go in the first place, but could probably walk not too bad now.. so I'm just glad of that, we're all up against our own ups & downs, nice that you could go I don't begrudge you for a minute fwiw. :) Look forward to pics and hope you bought souvenirs. :D Seagulls sound

I was looking out for TK too but she posted over in LWA up to yesterday, things not brilliant but trying to sort as best as poss under the circs.. tough situation. :(

Was not around myself as I had OT appt on Wed, and though that was fine, the following bus/taxi mess wasn't while getting back from it; spoiled quite a nice quiet potter round the shops after & turned it into a harassing time. Second time in a row my bus hasn't turned up, if they are running late they just miss one out. Such a nuisance as it is bad enough relying on buses, this just rubs your nose in it. So I was a bit overstrung yesterday but ok today. Have just rung up to have the council take some stuff away so I am organising that and looking forward to the space I will gain. :)

Hi Kath, sorry you didn't get a definitive answer to your itching but it sounds as though you got nearer and ruled some things in/out, you are being very philosophical about the flight socks etc so I hope it helps & they aren't a nuisance. Also the new ointment will be a help maybe, good luck for improvement & a good follow-up. :)

Good luck following your physio's instructions applerose.. hard to remember not to bend I should think.. still you don't want to be told off  hope you can fit in a run of appointments, sounds like a lot to factor in.

No joan or marrianne, hope they are both ok, and anyone else not in just now. xx

By the way I have some posh groceries courtesy of Weds shopping, so there are nice cookies, brazil nut or choc chunk, lemon sponge roll, and some rather good teabags so I will leave them in the caddy. :)

Good to see you home safe and sound Barbara. Hope you've had a lovely time. Yes Barbara, my hip is almost better but I'd waited so long, I decided to go to physio anyway. I'm sure the exercises will help but they do hurt a bit. The physio said that's because I'm not used to doing them. Those seagulls do sound a bit nasty. Poor little kid being knocked over.

Sorry you had such an awful time getting back from your appointment Toady. The main bus service I use misses one out if they are running late but it's bus is every 10 minutes so isn't such a big deal. It's be good to get some space. I love it when I manage to get stuff taken away. I am goint to physio again on 7th July then he said I'd probably go for a few weeks in a row. I did bend down a few times today before I realised. Oops. I'm also only allowed to do half an hour of gardening at a time, not all afternoon. Those goodies sound ermmmm .... good. Think I'll have to try them. Thank you.

Hope Elizabeth is ok and managing to get things sorted out. Hope everyone else is ok.
