    Hello applerose, barbara, frog, marrianne..

Marrianne are you having a bad spell, I'm so sorry.. hope you feel better soon :(

Toni nice to see you, you always post after I have been complaining about something, bad me  but it's human nature.. count your blessings one minute grumble the next  so pleased to read your good news on the other thread, will go over there directly. TK hasn't had an accident but is having a few problems, so things are a bit tough but not in a medical way.

I love the blackbird too.. he looks so happy there.. expect it's warm.. love hearing about him. Not too much gardening, we are all watching you remember  Every 10 minutes for a bus sounds like a dream, these are every hour. When I didn't need them they were every 15 minutes. Hope the slightly painful exercises are within reason, & help.

Barbara I'd updated my OT thread, thanks for asking. Glad I went & didn't bottle out. :) Hope everything is ok with you today, I expect you are taking it easy after yesterday.. will you get to see your son soon, I hope all's well. I started a sentence about the seagulls and never finished it, my mind must have wandered.. I have heard they can be nasty. That is so cool about your gd 8) no wonder she is thrilled, that's brilliant. Is she hoping to go into some sort of arty line after school? Hope you get your shopping & not too many queues.. thanks for the kettle.. xx

Marrianne do take care, & everyone too.

No accident Toni, usual probs with the male species. Honestly if only women ruled the world life would be better for all of us!

OH has been nicer, kinder and I'm getting the impression a little bit sorry.

What with my Brother cutting me out of his life because I wouldn't lend him any money (and we were so close) I've had enough of their silliness.

Right sorry I need a cuppa badly.

Kath I'm still itching like mad. I'm concerned about the legs but as I suffer from fatigue I sit around a lot so saw you have been told to move about and stretch when you can. I've got a rash on my foot but that as been there years now so is permanent scarring. My Daughter washed my feet with baby wipes last night and was commenting on the 'leopard' scars.

What's wrong Marianne? Are you having comp probs or health probs or even both?

Well done to your GD with the hoodie Barbara. That is an honour. Glad you ad a nice time away.

We have a few blackbirds. i thought one was a dropped sock from the washing line and was going to pick it up! Its the fat Robins I love the most.

I often get dishy Doctors but all my physio's seem to be women Christine.

Hi Toady we posted at the same time, thanks for all the lovely goodies you bought back from your outing to the shops even if it was a mad panic in the end!

Barbara, those pigeons sound rather greedy stealing all the food. It would be the same here but I stay in the garden to keep them away. I remember you saying your GD had designed the hoodie. How wonderful the band are using it. Felt tip tattoos might be a good idea. At least they would be easier to remove if people no longer want them.

Hi Toni. No, blackbird doesn't have a name. I guess I should call him something other than blackbird. So glad Lucy is home. Hope you manage to have a goodish weekend.

Marrianne, hope you are feeling better by tomorrow.

Toady, I'll try very hard not to do too much but it is difficult. The exercises were a little easier this morning. Still got them to do before bed but my tummy is a bit full of bbq and ice cream. I haven't checked your other thread yet so hope it was a good appointment and you got some good advice.

Elizabeth, I'm glad things are a little easier now. Hope your OH realises what he has been doing and takes your side now. I did see a woman physio a couple of years ago. She was a bit bossy. The one I'm seeing now is rather dishy so I don't mind if he is a bit bossy.

Joan, the blackbirds can be very friendly, can't they?

My eldest GD tripped over at school. Apparently, she had broken a bone in her foot. She had a pot on for a few days but they've put a boot on now. She has become quite good with her crutches. The hospital have said she'll be ok for their holidays in 4 weeks though.

The village where my son lives is having it's festival this week. Everyone makes a scarecrow for the garden and they will be judged later. A lot of the people from the village gathered on the green in front of my son's house this afternoon and set up bbqs. All the kids played football while the adults ate, drank and chatted. Last year they stayed till about 10pm and played rounders and games but it was quite chilly by 7 and people started to drift away. The school will hold it's fete next Sunday.

Marrianne I do hope you are alright. Take care of yourself. I am fine thanks for asking :)

Toady it is indeed human nature to moan!! I still do it and have to pull myself up and remember some of the other Mums who no longer have their kids even if this chemo and it's consequences are awful

Good on you going to the OT - usually they are lovely :)

Elizabeth!! I am so glad you are ok!!!

Yes MEN I get it sounds like you have had your fill of them lately...grrr!!!!

Ho hum, feeling tired. Don't like hot weather. :(

Christine, lovely photo of the blackbird. We sometimes get a couple down, when the starlings and pigeons allow them I say a couple, one is male the other is female. When I've seen them both at the same time, he always chases her off. so don't know if they are actually a couple. You mentioned physiotherapists always being young and good looking. That made me laugh. Last time I went it was a little old man who reminded me of a short version of Mr Pastry - Richard Hearn. He retired shortly after.

Barbara, Toady, Mig, Joan, Elizabeth, Toni, Marrianne, and anyone else I forgot, hope things aren't too bad today.

    Be back soon. xx

ps, suggestion for blackbird name. How about Mr Pickwick? Maybe that would give others better ideas. x

Christine I am sorry to hear your GD has broken a bone in her foot..bless bet you were all worried..we do worry about the children...glad she will be ok for her holiday.. :D I would love to see the scarecrows..we once saw a village in Devon I think that did that..it does sound lovely all coming together for a BBQ..
Kath my joints don't like the hot weather...they are a bit better in winter sounds well I know...I like Mr Pickwick and I remember Mr Pastry.. :D
Toni..I remember Trish wanting a cherry on top of her cake, I do miss her and the rest of the crew... :) yes a tattooist that dosen't like needles not good is it...  hope yours and Lucys weekend is going ok...
We have just had the baby round...she is on a mission to move all the slate we put down...she has filled the fountain and most of the pots with strawberries in...there is a slide in our garden from when the other GC were little but she is not interested.. :?

Toni, just been reading that you're off to Wimbledon tomorrow. Hope you have a great time and the weather stays sunny for you.

Kath, my Mrs Blackbird doesn't help look after the babies. She comes and has some food then flies off to leave Mr Blackbird to do all the work. Mr Pickwick sounds good. I could ask my physio if you can see him.

Barbara, I didn't get to see most of the scarecrows. I did see one garden with a cricket match going on including spectators and another with the World Cup going on. Maybe your GD could do henna tattoos. Maybe the baby will become a garden designer.

Well my physio won't be happy with me. I forgot my exercises this morning and spent a lot of the afternoon weeding and cutting back plants round the pond. Oops. I found a small frog hiding in the weeds and 2 small faces looking at me from the water. Oh and a tiny frog plopped in to the pond when I started clearing a space. Thought I only had a big toad. I am actually lying on the floor at the moment doing the cat exercise so I'm being good now.

Well at least you had a good day in the garden...how lovely to find the little frogs...at least you are now back to doing your exercises.. :) the scarecrow sound brilliant I do love anything like that ..how long it be on for..
Today I am getting some jobs done..my gd did my windows for pocket money...ie hair dye... not a clue what colour it will be next time I see her ...cant wait for my potatoes to flower then I can harvest them ...it will take me back to being around 11 potatoe picking for money at the farm just up the rd from were I live now...boy it was hard on the back...but I loved it

Barbara, it would be very useful if the baby did the weeding for you but you could end up with no flowers. The village keep their scarecrows for a week. They usually take them down after the school fete next Sunday. The young ones do like to change their hair colour, don't they?

Joan, hope you enjoyed your hydrotherapy today.

Hope everyone else is enjoying good weather.

Wonder where everyone is? Hope they are ok.

Barbara, I made turkey stew tonight and there's enough for another meal for the freezer. I don't mind something hot and filling now and again in the summer.

Joan, I like the sound of exercising in the water. I've had a look and the only one near me is when I'm at work.

Don't know what came over me when I got home for work. I pulled out all the furniture in the living room, cleaned and hoovered behind it, cleaned the windows, hoovered the rug and mopped the wooden floor and polished. Was in T*sc* this afternoon and found some ice cream at half price. There were 3 flavours and I didn't have time to stand and decide which one to get so got all 3. Think I need to have an early night to get over the cleaning and so I don't eat all the ice cream.

Hello folks :) time to make a quick appearance before bed I think. Just rounding up a few business & bank-y type internet things, after a late supper of veg sausage & green beans; I started off with some rather nice tomato & basil soup. All the nicer for not having to stand over a hot stove & cook it. I have quite a lot of basil now of various sorts actually.. but don't cook with them, maybe I should start. Fancy your GD not being interested in the slide barbara, I'd go down one now at the drop of a hat. I love playgrounds but could never go round on the roundabout.

Have had quite a good day or 2.. I manoeuvred my stuff out for the council, hope they'll come soon as I don't want my old sofa out front for any longer than needs be  - did some tidying, went for a little walk today while the temperature was just nice :) & bought a couple of plants from a little stall outside someone's house. Also swept out the really spidery end of the garage where some of the junk that is going came from. Too long since it was done, there were those big fluffy 'beards' of cobwebs.. but thankfully no live spiders, just a few rather nasty crunchy dead ones that I wouldn't have liked to meet when they were alive.

I see you got jobs done yesterday too barbara, & applerose you have been busy today. Some sort of summer tidying urge while it's nice I expect. Hope you haven't overdone it applerose (says me, lumping furniture outside  ) & also hope your GD is doing ok. Did you pick up any more sale items when you were in t**co clearing out their ice-cream stocks? Keep meaning to look in & see if there is anything online in the sale worth having. I like Mr Pickwick for the blackbird, as it has a kind of beaky pecky sound to it.. but it's your blackbird so call him Fred if you want. Mine are always just Blackie or Mr Blackbird. Glad you have a toad. :D

Hope the heat is not too annoying for you Kath, maybe it will break a little soon it has that feel to it.

Hope it was just right for Toni at Wimbledon :) and that it was lovely in all ways.

Glad you find your hydro exercises helpful joan :) I have been offered it but there is nowhere very near and I don't really like the water much, but I'm sure they'd like me to go, I expect it's quite beneficial.

Hope marrianne will feel better & call in soon.. and everyone else is ok if reading.. might have a hot drink before bed. xx

Toady glad you enjoyed the soup still plenty more if you fancy some... tell you I was sweating soup
Well you have been busy ,puts me to shame ..I hope they remove your things soon itr reminds me of my late mum..putting things out for the council to take and covering them up with a nice sheet...and hoping when they came she would have time to snatch the sheet back... I adore the smell of basil..it smells so clean and fresh if you know what I mean :)
Christine another busy one...:o oh I must get motivated..saying that my GD did a brilliant job...but there were spider on the top of the patio door...so she made me move it with my long handles duster...so you bought 3 lots of ice cream ...now I know were to come..not a clue what is going on but I am craving the stuff..I make wafers cornets and have it with fruit :? turkey stew sounds good.. :D I am going to try Mary berrys steak and mushroom pie it doesn't have pastry but potatoes on top with cheese
Hope everyone's wellish and Marrianne can pop in soon to let us know how she is..see you later xxxx

Thankfully it is Quiet here and I've spent most of my time watching football, which has been a welcome distraction from all the upset of late.

My Daughter phoned today to tell me she got her linguistics degree, 2.1 and also a chance of a job, which means she would not being doing the radio course (which my D. informs me is an M.A. and an internationally recognised course, after I told her about my hairdresser). She's not sure what to do as the job is promising and they know her and like her.

No respite club today but Dan is playing happily on the Wii.

I think you need 3 tubs of ice cream in this weather Christine. It has been so humid here.

Glad you had a nice couple of days Toady and Christine has also got things done.
Hope the itching is settling Kath.
Joan I loved hydro but found I could no longer swim.

    Love to all others

Toady, well done on getting your stuff out for the council and cleaning up the garage. I have a shed which usually has beardy cobwebs. I hate cleaning them up. I only really needed bread from T*sc*, not ice cream but I have been good and not had any yet. Trying to save it for the weekend.

Barbara it is good of your GD to do jobs for you. Guess she doesn't like spiders. I crave ice cream the most in the winter. I sit shivering while eating it but can't stop till it's all gone. Mary's pie sounds tasty.

Elizabeth so glad you have managed some quiet time. Congratulations to your daughter. Hope she can decide which way to go.

It's my GS's school fete on Sunday. I bought 2 aloe vera plants there 2 years ago and they have grown quite big and had lots of babies so I have potted them all up for the plant stall. Can't decide if I should keep one of the big plants or a couple of little ones.
