Kath you poor thing. You id have a difficult time. Was this all to help the rash and is it working?
I remember the baby was very ill when born Barbara ad that it has been ongoing. I am sorry she has this infection in her lung and can only hope she gets better.
I'm constantly coughing now and losing sleep although I went back to bed yesterday and slept like a log before Dan came home and woke up feeling revived! I also had about a hour this morning. Got things to do....
Weather has been okay here in fact it is mild. The tree is up and OH hoovered and cleaned up a bit. Lucy wants to decorate the tree. I need to finish upstairs though.
Dan has had a trip out today followed by a big mac. I put lots of large clothing on him as his trousers tend to fall down at the back and he's always flashing his backside  thing is he is very good looking so all the girls stare at him then realise he's not quite boyfriend material.
At least Mango is sorted for the next 3 weeks and hope its enough!
I've just had crab on toast, absolutely gorgeous.
Hello Joan, hope all is still going well.

Glad your extension didn't get blown away Barbara. Poor baby. Hope she gets better quickly. How sweet of her to say thank you. Think I would have shed a tear or two too.
Joan, I'm glad you haven't had any bad weather. Hope it doesn't come your way.
It must be so tiring for you coughing all the time Elizabeth. Hope the naps are helping with the tiredness. Did Dan enjoy his trip out?
Well I asked Mango to put the tree up while I was a t work and asked him to make my dinner but I came home and he hasn't done anything. Dogs. They're not much help around the house. :xmas_lol: Finally managed to order some toys from T*ys R *s in Oz for my GC over there. Just hope they arrive ok. I've been wondering how much it will actually cost me as they use dollars. A dollar is about 60p I think. £20 deliveryand not sure if I'll get charged for them changing the currency.

Hello everyone, sunny here but cold, here's hoping the bad weather doesn't materialise. Hope all are as well as can be.
Elizabeth, I have had a flare in my right hand, wrist and elbow, but the steroids are mainly for the Vasculitis rash. It just isn't clearing and I had 5 lumps on my left calf that were very big and painful. I was worried they were actually ulcers, but they aren't. They still itch now and then, but thankfully haven't been keeping me awake. I've had 8 MTX injections now, so hoping they will soon begin to take effect and start to clear things up. :xmas_sad:
Feeling totally exhausted, even with good sleep, shoulders and hips aching now, and when I stand up I'm swaying from side to side like a drunkard. :xmas_mad: but I'm not, honest. :candycane:
Loving these Xmas smilies.
:santa2:
I did enjoy my hot buttered toast and tea, think I'll have some more. xx"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hello all, just a quick visit.. ooh it's cold out, going right to my head.. a hat is in order I think (glamorous.. :xmas_eek: ) but much warmer in here. :xmas_cheesygrin:
Rough night again for sure, & lots of rain, hope no-one has had anything blown away. 'Tiddles' stayed away for the last few days but have seen him today so that's a relief, I worry about the little monkey dicing with danger on the roads, but he's fine.
Mig is very festive, and there is talk of trees going up etc. :rudolph: Very nice. Shame mango didn't get on with the decorations applerose, there is a useless lazy little lump like that round here (me :xmas_cheesygrin: ) but I bet he thought he was doing useful things, like sleeping and tail-wagging and thinking important thoughts.
Glad to hear about Sue's plaster. Hope putting up with the boot is better in comparison. Hope you are going on alright too, joan.
Hope barbara's GD steadies up soon, poor thing. TK is coughing too I see but getting some 'things' done.
Will get a pot of tea going and wish everyone the best. Might have a round of toast with Kath and a round of carols too if you fancy. Might give 'The Trolley and the I.V.' a miss, shall we? :xmas_sad: (fairly sure you don't mind a bit of black humour but if that's not funny give me a slap instead). Sorry you aren't having an easy time and hope things pick up for you. xxx
See you all in due course, must think about doing some xmas post.. think about it, I say.. or maybe a nap first. :xmas_cool:0 -
Barbara, I don't know so much about training Mango to do the housework. Tonight I sat down to open some Xmas cards which had arrived. As soon as I took a card out of the envelope, he grabbed the envelope and ripped it all up in to little pieces and left them all over the rug. Things are so different now. I remember my parents moving 200 miles away. I phoned them once a week, putting 10p coins in the pay phone, and visited once a year. Now I can talk to my daughter every day for free and I used to visit twice a year in Dublin. Hope your GD enjoyed wearing her Xmas jumper. I'm sure all the kids looked great today. Hope the baby is a little better today.
Mig what a lovely tree. Looks very cosy there. So you had Xmas and New Year. Sounds like a good holiday.
I'm not surprised you are feeling exhausted Kath. I hope the injections don't take too long to kick in.
Joan, Sue must feel much better without the plaster. I'm sure the boot will be much more comfortable.
Toady, I've started wearing a hat mainly to keep my ears warm. As it was Xmas jumper day today and I didn't have one, I wore a Xmas pudding wooly hat. I've also got a snowman one. I think you are right. Mango was doing lots of thinking and dreaming, probably about treats.
I had a wander in to the charity shops today. I shouldn't really spend any more money but can't help looking at the Xmas stuff. I found a big polar bear teddy for £1.99 so I bought it to keep Mango company while I'm out. Wasn't sure if I should give him it now or wrap it for Xmas but he had his nose in the bag as soon as I walked through the door and was very happy when I took it out so he has it now. Hoping to get the tree up over the weekend. And the Xmas cards written. Haven't started yet. Or should I go in to town and spend more money. :presents:Christine0 -

One of my older Christmas poems to make you giggle (hopefully)
:xmas_lol: :xmas_lol: :xmas_lol: :xmas_lol: :xmas_lol: :xmas_lol:
The Disgruntled Fairy
Well - here I am,
look at me;
the fairy on top of the Christmas tree.
Dress all torn,
wings all tattered -
and a magic wand that's bent and battered.
My rosy cheeks are a little bit faded
and my smile is looking decidedly jaded.
I wish that Christmas was over and done
as these pine needles stick in my bum,
but I'll just sit tight,
even though
I suffer from serious vertigo!
For two whole weeks I'm perched up here
then it's back in the box for another year,
squashed between a bauble and a bell
no wonder I end up looking like h*ll.
I suppose one day they'll throw me out
with the left over turkey and brussel sprouts
'til then they gaze at me from afar -
but I wish they'd swap me for a bloomin' star!

Toni, with all you have going on, you are still more organised than me. My cards are still in the boxes upstairs. The tree has made it's way downstairs but is still in the box. :candycane:
Barbara, did Niamh get home ok today? Hope so. Mango has been trying to rip his polar bear and he has had a few gos at his bed. But he did get in his bed and lie down about half an hour ago for the first time. I wonder how many people will be shopping online on Xmas Day. I know I won't. I'd rather spend the time with family.
Joan, I think I'll have to try teaching Mango to do some of those things to earn his keep. :rudolph:
Love the poem Kath. It did make me giggle. :xmas_lol:
Today's plan was to tidy the house, put up the tree, write the Xmas cards out and wrap the presents. What actually got done - spent most of the morning in bed and ended up buying a new phone for me, wrapped most of the presents then went in to town. There was a maze in the High Street so I went in. Round and round in circles and couldn't find the exit. They said you weren't allowed to go out of the entrance. There were some strange goings-on going on. There was a big teapot and a top hat, both made of privet hedge, walking round. In one corner was an old woman sitting in a pile of leaves next to a small fire. In another part was a sitting room with a few funny looking people standing around. There was a shed. I looked through the window and there was a man inside walking about. I ended up trying to get out through the entrance but they wouldn't let me but they did suggest I go in to the shed. I did this with a lot of other people and we were like sardines. After a few minutes, a door in the side of the shed opened and let us out. We walked down a corridor of hedge which was shaking and growling like a huge bear or something. It was really good. Well worth going.Christine0 -
Thought I'd pop in and start the breakfast. Kettle's on. Bacon, sausage in the pan, bread in the toaster, eggs at the ready. I've stoked the fire up so it's nice and cosy and switched the Xmas tree lights on. Have a good day everyone.Christine0

Good morning ladies
I am so glad that Naimh is doing ok Barbara. I wouldn't worry about the antibiotics for her - needs must. Easy for me to say at the moment, but when Lucy has an infection I hate it too.
Joan thank you I am doing fineI expect Sue is a little frustrated with her boot, but things are going the right way aren't they?
Christine I wonder....did the tree get put up (doing ours today I think) and the cards get written?? Mine are still here to be posted

Kath i loved your poem. Poor fairy.
I've woken up with a headache so not much will get done today. Lucy abandoned the tree decorating. I really haven't got many presents for the boys but have a few ideas.
I have at least sent the cheques off :presents:
The table mats sound lovely Kath. I like things like that too.
I hope baby is home Barbara and recovering.
That maze sounded great fun. I think we must try and get out for at least one trip once the children are off school.
No Dan is none the wiser about the female attention but one poor girl at his school sends him pictures and cards all the time. I put them up on her behalf but don't think she'll get any thanks from Dan!
I must have some bacon, egg and fried bread- it is a cure for headaches I hope.

Hi all, very cold today, I have written a couple of cards/letters and packed up an E*ay parcel, and that's about it. It's going to take so much tea to get through the next few days I may just get a funnel and pour it continuously down me.
I am now going to do a Captain Oates and post my stuff, so if that's the last you see of me, cheerio. :xmas_cheesygrin: Sorry I have used all my head reading/writing allowance and then some, so I will iou catching up with you all, & just send my best.
Joan I haven't been out far/long enough to get too cold & need a hat yet, but it's indoors I'm feeling it, for some reason, so I was thinking of an indoor hat. Best to you & sue.
Applerose, are you sure that whole thing with the maze actually happened? Privet hedge teacups and a strange shed, maybe you just went out into the garden after your sleep and were half awake still. :xmas_cheesygrin:
See you all soon, I'll have what frog is having thank you.. toady xxxx0 -
Toni, the tree is up. And a few ornaments on the fireplace. Xmas cards are downstairs but still in the boxes.
Mig, I've not heard of the Jersey Boys but just g**gled it. Looks good. Hope you enjoy it.
Aw thank you Joan. Hope you and Sue have had a good weekend.
Kath, you naughty girl, opening Xmas presents already. I'm very good at waiting. I love sitting on Xmas evening to open mine with only the tree lights on and candles lit. Love the sound of the table mats.
Elizabeth, it sounds as if you are getting there with your Xmas shopping/present buying. Hope your headache has cleared.
Barbara, I like the ice rinks at Xmas. Don't think we had one anywhere this year. I've had a few cards delivered but haven't written any yet. Must get them done soon. Hope the baby is starting to pick up.
Toady, don't worry about catching up. Just pop in when you can. Hmmm, maybe I was dreaming about the maze. Wouldn't surprise me. I do have some strange dreams. :xmas_lol:
Had a lovely afternoon with my son and his wife and the kids. We went down to the High Street and in to the pub/coffee shop/nightclub where we saw Santa and the kids got a selection box. Upstairs in the nightclub part, there was a disco, face painting and food being served. Then we went outside and saw one of Santa's reindeer. Not sure which one. They didn't say. Then we went for a Xmas drink in C*st*. Mango is lying beside me thinking he's a cat. He's licking his coat like one. :xmas_lol:Christine0 -
Seems a bit chilly today but the sun is shinning.
Done an online shop for today so waiting for it to arrive, just got a joint of beef and fresh veg and salad to get but have not yet wrote cards or wrapped presents. :xmas_eek: Mig0
