Aw Barbara!! A new ickle bubba to hold
Is your niece doing ok? Lucky you
I don't mean people have to post either - just hope they are ok :?
Hi Joan Good to hear Sue is able to get out in her leccie chair. I can see a wee bit of sunshine here - now much, but it's something
Kath I am now spoilt for choice!! I love pasta and salmon as well as halloumi. Oh dear!
Maybe I shall have to have all three!!
As for desert maybe the lemon meringue :balloon:
I hope you are doing ok today? How's your 'mood' is it settling yet on the patches?
I just had to go to the post office and renew my driving licenceit was the photo. I look quite a bit older on this one
Probably the stress of the last 2 years!
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Hi everyone, have finally made it!! This working lark really gets in the way of a good time doesn't it?
Barbara thanks for asking after me, Toni, not much up with you're memory, you're quite right about my phased return. Should have been back to my 3 full days this week but having done 2 and a half days the previous week, I got them to let me go in one hour late each of the 3 days this week and next week I can tell myself that it's only one extra hour a day and I'll never notice it!!
Got my blood test done yesterday and some washing and shopping so today was playtime but I'm tired now. Got my hair done this morning and am going to try out a shampoo for thinning hair, n*ox*n, its called. When I saw rheumy the other week he said he could tell by my face that I'm on steroids - he knows how to flatter a girl. When I saw the GP last week he said (and I knew this but it took me aback a bit to hear it said so bluntly) that my fitness would never be back as it was before I got ill. He says to take things One Day At A Time. (Isnt there another group that uses that slogan?!)
Cheated and bought a fish pie for tea cos its easy. Not just any fish pie but a *&* fish pie. While I was there, a rather nice top waved to me from its hanger and beckoned me over, it would have been really churlish of me not to take it home with me. That's my excuse.
Love the latest menu - thinking of the salmon and lemon meringue pie.
Confess I can't properly remember whose doing what. Other than Mig - I do hope everything went smoothly and as well as such things can. Love and hugs to you and yours Mig.
OH has arrived home so I'd best go welcome him and start slaving over a hot stove heating up the fish pie.
Love to everyone and hope you're all keeping well/wellish
slomo0 -
Well slomo!
You really do sound very up-beat despite the odd tactless comment, (rheumy).
'Easy' meals are a must for the working person who has a health condition I feel.
As for that top I have to agree - it would have been morally wrong to ignore it!!
I am having the salmon and lemon meringue too, (amngst other things  ).
Right sleeves up Toni:-
super-fast I have a bungalow to view!!
Oh gosh the loos....
see you later

Slomo its nice to see you back have a good weekend.

Just checked when I was last in and it's been a few days.
Mig, I hope everything went smoothly yesterday and your family are coping. x
Kath, I'm glad you are feeling more positive and the OA in your hip isn't as bad as you thought. I get pain in my hips coming from my back. I read through the menu and as I went I kept changing my mind as to what to have. I think the chicken with cheese and BBQ sauce. Followed by the pancakes. Mmmm, my mouth is watering.
Toni, that's good having an extra week to get sorted out before the carpets come. I don't think those photos for licenses or passports look good at all. I'm sure you don't look any older at all. I'm sure I read somewhere that you are looking at a couple more bungalows. Can't find it now but hope you find what you want.
Joan, glad you got out in the sun. I always think you can wrap up if it's cold and enjoy the sun but I hate it raining.
Barbara, my memory is bad too. Mostly I laugh about it but now and again I worry about dementia. Thanks for thinking about me not calling in. A new 3 week old baby to squeeze. Bet you enjoyed a cuddle.
Slomo, I know how difficult it is going back to work after just a couple of weeks off so it must be very tiring for you. I hope you don't notice the extra hour. I'm usually too tired to play after work. My rheumie is good at flattery too. Reckons my feet aren't my best feature. Huh! I keep a ready meal in the freezer for tired days. Nothing wrong with not cooking every meal. Yes, it would have been wrong not to have the top.
I finally got to see the optician. She couldn't find anything more wrong with my eyes than there was last year but I have to go back in a week to have my eyes dilated so she can have a better look and she said she wants to keep an eye on them as there s macular degeneration in the family. She did say my long distance was starting to go so I'm getting varifocals. I also need to hold a warm cloth over my eyes a couple of times a day to clear the oil ducts.
My youngest GD's latest saying was when I offered her a banana, which she loves, she told me no because it would make her sour. Forgot to ask mum and dad if they knew what she meant. The local branch of my bank closed a few weeks ago so I need to use the post office which usually has queues out the door. Now we've found out that the post office is up for sale. Just hope it stays as a post office or I'll need to get a bus to the bank or change banks. The library has just closed for 6 months for refurbishment. It will be state of the art. I prefer it as it is. It fits in better to our little old town.Christine0 -
HI all, I'm still sleeping tons and then have to wake up for the children at 3 ish- coming home from school- and then only have a little while before Daniel takes over the laptop (2 out of the 3 are not working). Itching seems to be better, just be the lower legs and feet now whereas before it was all over. Still taking far too many pills.
Thankfully it is half term so I will get lie ins and not too much to catch up with for a change.
I was on facebook Toni as I finally got the dates for Dan's respite. It will be a couple of hours to start on 27 Feb and then 2 nights a month until he is 18.
Hope the house hunting is going well Toni. I will have to read back to get up to date.
Hoping Toady is getting somewhere with the humira but it doesn't sound too promising.

Thank-you all for your thoughts on friday, the funeral service went very smoothly the minister got SIL down to a tee ,the flowers were beautiful and much admired,The wake was at a local pub and went on till well we didn't get home 8 o'clock and it was still going strong she would have loved it.Hubby and I are now the oldest on his side of the family ,a very daunting responsibility to hold the family history for future generations.
Once again thank-you all. Mig0 -
Hello Christine Elizabeth Mig and anyone else I missed.
Christine sorry about your eyes I have varifocals.
Elizabeth your body needs the rest you enjoy it when you can.
Mig i'm glad it all went has well as it could life can be so hard at times and we have to be strong.
take care all
joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
Beautiful sunshine outside, but oh so cold. :be-my-valentine:
Mig, I'm glad your SIL's funeral went well. Nothing like a good send off to bring out the Happy and loving memories.
Elizabeth, I hope your sleep is refreshing. I've not been sleeping well in spite of the patches, because I now have sciatica all down my right side - agony. I can now sympathise with OH as he gets it often. The bottom three discs in his spine have crumbled! We are a pair.
Christine, I'm glad you are enjoying the new menu. Emily tries to vary it as much as possible for us.
Slomo, we practically always do ready meals. Or should I say OH does them. Although he has recently begun to use fresh eggs more often. And quite a lot of smoked salmon too. Fish pie is quite a frequent choice, with peas and sweetcorn. Slurp.
Toni, by all means have all three. I'd never even heard of Halloumi before and had to look it up. I've never been very adventurous with food, and don't find highly spicy foods palatable at all. As for dirty rice - the mind boggles.
Hope you all have a nice romantic evening planned. :balloon:"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Did I put this one on?
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-51485779.html
we looked at this one yesterday. It's a sort of bungalow our room is downstairs as is one bathroom. If Lucy has to have hip surgery we would swap with her
Elizabeth I am sorry you are so tired! BUT very pleased about the respite - I thought I'd seen thatMaybe the itching will soon go altogether :?
Barbara! New bubbas are adorable and imagine loads of hair tooTurkish - wow! She will be gorgeous.
Kath I have always loved halloumi. It's like panneer but saltier and great for us veggies to cook with in place of meatThank you I shall indeed have all 3!
Not really romantic, but had a lovely card and flowers and chocciesHope you did though?
You take care too Joan We had some sunshine I hope you did too?
Mig sending ((())) to you all. So very hard life at times.
Hi Christine! We really had missed you. I suspected your eyes might have been playing up. Have posted a bungalow house above we looked at yesterday
Been to see MIL in hospital (over 4 weeks now!) she seems in good spirits. I hope they let her out soon
Love
Toni xxx0 -
Elizabeth, hopefully your itching will get even less now and you can get a bit more rest during the school holiday. Only a couple of weeks till the respite starts. At last.
Mig, I'm glad all went well on Friday. It sounds as if it was a good celebration on your SIL's life.
Joan, do you get on well with the varifocals? Not sure I will but they said that if I don't, I can go back and get different ones.
Kath, we had brilliant sunshine in the middle of the morning but then heavy hailstones and dark grey clouds. It felt like bedtime by 5pm. Hope you and your OH are managing to control your pain as much as possible.
Barbara, don't babies look adorable with lots of hair? I keep forgetting to use the warm towel on my eyes so now, when I make a cuppa, I wet the towel then go and sit with my cuppa till the towel cools enough. Think it's the only way I'll remember. Hope you get something sorted with your sinuses tomorrow.
Toni, that house looks lovely too. A downstairs bedroom and bathroom sounds like a good idea. Thank you for missing me. Glad your MIL is in good spirits. Hope they let her home soon.
Today's plan was to do a bit of tidying in the garden as the sun was shining. That went out the window when it started hailing heavily. So only did a bit of indoor tidying and some ironing. My daughter told me my GD was supposed to start pre-school the day they moved house but they forgot. That was a week ago. Oops. I'm due to donate blood tomorrow but it's a long walk to get there so I hope the weather isn't bad.Christine0 -
Hello Kathleen Barbara Toni Christine and anyone else I missed.
Kathleen how are you doing I hope you are not in too much pain.

Joan you always so positive whatever life throws at you, and I think this has help you both, hope you have this sunshine and get get out but its freezing so wrap up warm
Toni the house looks lovely, a good compromise having a bedroom downstairs, I love the large hallway something I have always wanted, and the kitchen is stunning with the settee in there so you can all chill, I am sure after you have seen a few more something will say which one to choose...

Joan, your body may be wearing out, but your brain is super active. You could teach many younger ones a lot.
Barbara, how lovely to have your own hairdresser right on your doorstep.
Ooh Christine, that must have been awful. I hate hail as much as snow.
Toni, what a lovely home that would make.
Can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer. :?"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Christine I very much hope you can donate blood. It is so so important. Lucy had at least 30 pints so far (lost count!) and at least 10 units of platelets each of which need 3 pints of blood to make.
Lucy hopefully won't need much more, but I wish blood donors realised how wonderful they are!
(They retired me because I kept fainting!!! hehehe!)
Joan I do rather like this one too. It's exactly half way between Lucy's hair academy and Paul's work.....
Kath - I am very cold too, but spring can't be far off can it?
I have to agree that dormer is lovelyThe garden is not as much work as it looks either
Barbara - your hair looks lovely
I hope you got out today looking so good
I loved that dormer too....the bedroom is HUGE!! Never ever had anything anywhere near that big.
Hope all our missing friends are ok

Happy Birthday to me
65 today, 65 today. Oh shut up woman you know you can't sing.
Barbara, thank you. My YS and his wife sent me something very similar. I was so surprised when they were delivered this morning. There's a photo on my status page on FB.
Joan, I'm blushing now. People like you and Sue make being kind easy - but I do have my moments of not being kind. :? :?
Toni, I hope you're right about spring being close. Lots of buds on our plants, the Camellia has open flower on it and the birds look very busy already.
I've already got this week's menu, so will put it in a new post. It will make up for making you wait last week. :P"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein
