Afternoon to one and all, a chilly wind, but at least the frost soon went this morning and Bette was not covered in ice when went out.
Toni, you have your new microwave, very nice, in full agreement with the retro look, I like that too. They do a fab mixer, but it is a Kings ransom and I don't bake anymore, so it would only be an expensive ornament.
Oh yes, picture of wound, that would be fine, says nosey Matron. Can see the progress then - bio oil is very good for helping with scar tissue, as is Prolagene Gel by Decleor ( I cannot live without my Prolagene, use it on face too, as it tightens the skin slightly too and never irritates) Mini face lift, excellent in my book..........I digress.
I will mention the thanks to Pepe, when he decided to wake up, usually about 5pm. He is :animal_busy: at present, along with the two ladies.
Mesh is a must at the windows, would not open them without, especially in tarantula season.
I always seemed to be to hand whenever there was a marrow biopsy on the wards, "Aidan, have you got a few minutes"? Er, no, I am busy folding sheets...........never worked, so toe curling duties it was. Lots of hand holding with the patient. In between passing slides and sample tubes. Sternal ones where the most unpleasant for ALL of us, even with lots of local.
Yes, the stars and the milky way were amazing to see, in rural France.
Hi Joan I am sure it will be so much better to walk with a lot less pain, as Toni said, the cloak is on standby and we will all be there.
I was a good nurse, I think. I guess I still am a good nurse, even though I am put out to pasture. Do I miss it? Occasionally I do, but times have moved on, the pressure on the NHS is beyond belief, staff are bogged down in paperwork and have less and less time to spend with the patients in their care. I read they are going to close a lot more A & E departments and replace them with Urgent Care Center. Terrible, we need more, not less.
Hi to Sue and to the doggies. D Day for the boiler tomorrow.
Hi Carol Good that the whole deed pole process has been an amicable one.
I have had some very odd looks when I say I have no passport and no D Licence. Oh we will need all sorts of other evidence, utility bills etc.
So, I read that it is Christine's Birthday today, in that case it is time for
Hope you have a lovely day Christine, if you cannot manage all the cake, we will help out
Glad you are feeling better Barbara, if a little wobbly, we will link arms and help each other along, with crutches and the like, clattering along. Who had the clatterator, I seem to remember it being mentioned a few times in the past?
I didn't hear you mention sugar at all. Donuts with "sprinkles" we can call S----, sprinkles from now on. They are very nice, but always give me indigestion. Worth it though :?
Hi Elizabeth, a new boiler, yes, no wonder the funds have dried out. They do cost a small fortune, but, we need them and you have to have them fitted by a Corgi, no Aidan, a Man or Woman who is Corgi Registered,
You don't need any more worries, with the new school pick up zones. Is the MP involved, I am all for getting them to help their constituents whenever possible, that is what they are there for in the most part.
Kath, I am sure it will be ok to modify your doseage, I think mixing things around a bit, does no harm, it is not like you are doubling up, you are reducing and then seeing how things go.
My GP has often said, adjust the dose as you see fit, according to how you feel. OK, will do (I was doing that already, lol).
Goodness that wind is chilly, just had a natter with next door, he likes to come out and tell us what the weather is doing, yes, it's cold  bless. Heating now turned up.
Well, I had better potter a bit, washer and dryer are busy away, as always, you would think there was a family of 10, with the washing I hunt down. My late Mum said, "you will wash things away" and she was right.
Hi To Mig, Kerrin, and all, enjoy the cakes and enjoy your Birthday Christine. Love to all XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
HAPPY Christine
From me too
I hope you had a great day
Photobucket won't open sorry so I'll have to post a photo of Lucy's wound another day sorry

Ps Joan microwave arrived with a huge dent!! Had to go back0 -
no, a new microwave with a big dent - grrrrrrrrrrr, not on at all Toni. Give them what for 8)
Will wait and see the pictures another day, photobucket can be a little "sluggish" at times, to say the least.
My major shock of Monday was NO SCONES at the GC
It took a while, but I came round in the end and was revived with a large blueberry muffin. It was so good, I thought I would bring some in to share.
The lady (who used to own the GC) bakes the scones daily, I think she has very poor mobility and joint problems, which we can all sympathise with. She was not well enough to bake today. Bless her.
Right, time to feed his Lordship once more. The three of them are all :animal_busy: at present, but his nibs will be awake any time now.
Take care all, keep warm. XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning everyone.
Still suffering with some lingering effects of the cold, started coughing yesterday. Feeling rather fatigued this morning, not helped by having to run for the train. I normally go on the back roads to the station but he bridge is closed for repairs so have to take the motorway sigh.
Round 2 of gymnastics starts today. This time the older kids. Today practice and friendly comp after school, Friday main comp, with netball thrown in the middle tomorrow!
No scones, what is happening to the world? At least there is cake.0 -

Hello all,Hope everyone is doing as well as possible .We have rain, rain, rain and everywhere is damp its making me feel achy and a little bit bad tempered which is not like me.
Made a cushion cover with my knitting loom,I have done it envelope style when I put the button on I will try and show it.
Take care all. Mig0 -
Evening everyone. I have always suffered badly with colds even befor methotrexate. This one has been fairly mild in comparison to others I've had.
Survived gymnastics and am in my tiny hotel room in London. I sometimes stay over if I have a late finish. Would only be getting home about now otherwise. DF (darling fiancé) is home cleaning the kitchen, he must be lonely!
Mig hope the rain and aches ease soon. I'm also very achy tonight.

I didn't get in here yesterday with one thing and another. Thank you for the birthday wishes and cakes. Looks as if there's plenty for everyone.
Toni, I phoned up to book the meter check and the first appointment is in 4 weeks. They didn't seem in any rush so it can't be that urgent. My GD enjoyed her birthday weekend. They don't just have one day any more. How annoying that the microwave was dented. Hope it's not long till you get another one.
Joan, your microwave is 16 years old? I always think things made a long time ago last longer than newer things. I agree with Barbara. I've never seen you moan about anything on here.
Carol, happy birthday to your GGD. Hope she had a lovely day. I agree sometimes you need to pay more for your health or to make yourself comfortable.
Barbara, it was my GD's 15th birthday. My son is asking other girls' parents to help him build a wall around the village to keep boys out. Hope you are feeling better now. How lovely Jake likes to spend time with you. 18. That's a good age.
Elizabeth, a new boiler is very expensive but necessary if the old one breaks. We couldn't do without them these days.
Kath, I don't know about the patches but I stopped using my inhaler for asthma without telling my GP. I did tell her a few weeks later and told her that it hadn't made any difference. I expected a telling off but she just said I obviously didn't have asthma any more.
Aiden, you certainly do sound like a very good nurse. I read about the A&E closures - in 6 I think they said. Shocking. As you say, we need more not less. You poor thing. No scones. Just as well there were muffins.
Kerrin, sorry you are still feeling poorly. Still very busy too with the gymnastics. Hope it goes well this week and you feel better soon. Good idea staying over if you would get home so late. Even better idea if DF gets the housework done while you're away.
Mig, we've had a bit of rain but it sounds as if you've got most of it. Your cushion cover sounds lovely. What colour is it?
Went to T*sc* today. They started work changing a two way road in to a dual carriageway a year ago. They finished the road itself at Xmas but are now redoing all the pavements and paths which means that some are closed and diversions have been put in place so I have to walk a long way round. Wish they'd hurry up and finish it. I found a new gluten free loaf which is very nice with butter on. So much for me cutting down on bread. I was watching a programme about dieting the other night and went in to the kitchen to wash the dishes while listening. I could hear another voice and when I went to check where it was coming from, my Alexa was chatting away to herself. Turns out one of the people on the programme was called Alexa. Every time they said her name, my Alexa answered.Christine0 -
Hi there to one and all, late again, or early, whichever way round.
Hi Kerrin, the cold is still lingering and has turned into a cough, just keep an eye it doesn't settle there, we don't want any chest infections lurking. Hopefully it will go away asap. Running for the train, goodness, not that I could, but I am not surprised you are feeling a little jaded.
Don't blame you for staying over when you finish late, more gymnastics, netball and competitions, it's all go.
SO DF is keeping himself busy cleaning the kitchen, bless, that's kind and we like clean It will be all sparkling when you get home.
No scones, I know, whatever next, lol.
Hi Joan, hope you and Sue are ok, how did the meeting with the powers that be go? I hope a new heating system and quick smart too.
Thank you, yes, we have had a good day, shopping and coffee ing. I even forgot to have a cake !!
I see it has been your turn for the hairdresser Barbara. Are you not so happy with your H dresser? Not easy, but, if you need to change, then I am sure there will be one who could be recommended by someone, word of mouth is usually the best option.
Thank you for wafting a scone under my nose. The muffin was very nice though.
It was part of the job, doing things that made your toes curl sometimes. Not often, but a few things I didn't like, I won't go into details, but chest wards were always a challenge at times.
You have a new hat, a fluffy one, very nice. Have you seen the chi chi, that they sell on Ideal World, Moira C, who does the scarf lace, she is bonkers, but funny at the same time. We bought both Mum's scarf laces and they loved them.
Yes, DD had the clatterator, lol. I have noticed that one of my crutches has started to clatter and is a little loose on the pins that raise and lower them. I will pop into Physio next week, when I go to Podiatry and ask for a new pair. They are very good at our local hospital.
Aw, that's nice that Jake puskins is visiting. I am afraid they do loose weight as they get older, (not our stately Mother though, who is 17 this month). The other two, especially our Siamese, go very thin at the back end. 18 is a good age. The oldest cat I knew was a Siamese called pie- whacky and he was 25. Good that he can come in and accepts your hospitality and company.
Hi Mig, yes, we have had a fair bit of rain, not as much as further south though. It does make those joints ache, when it is damp and dreary.
Looking forward to seeing the cushion cover, you are very busy with the knitting loom, keeping those fingers nimble.
Hi Christine Yes, plenty of cake, you can never have enough, especially on your Birthday. Hope you had a good day. Plus you had your GD birthday over the week end, true, one day is never enough.
Obviously they are in no rush with the meter, 4 weeks and then threatening you with a court order, huh
A wall round the village, nothing wrong with that I guess, a fortress would keep the unwanted out lol.
I have been reading about the closures and impending closures of A and E departments, or turning some into urgent care centers, they are ok, but they are normally only open from 8-8, not 24 hours.
I know there was a programme on the other night about Blackburn Hospital and the problems they face in A & E. Well, I know the hospital well, they do a damned good job, the hospital has to cover an area of 150,000 people, (it was built to cope with a population of around 50,000). The other A and E was turned into an urgent care center, so putting more pressure on them. I could write a thesis on the state of the hospitals and NHS, but I had best not.
My late Mum was cared for their, on more than one occasion and the staff were wonderful, on all admissions and also when she sadly passed away there. They could not have been more kind. They have looked after Mum in Law very well too.
It is a big problem, the sheer volume of people is just crippling the hospitals.
I don't know what we would do without our bread for sandwiches, we love love love sandwiches and have them at least once a day. I am not the safest of people in the kitchen when it comes to hot foods, so cold is best. (we do have cooked meals, but OH take, over when it comes to ovens and hot trays).
Hope they finish the roads soon, so there is not such a journey to Tesco. Butter is a must, none of this margarine, cannot bear it, always tastes "fake". French butter is even better.
Our Alexa makes us chuckle too, when she answers the TV, she also talks to OH, even when he does not mention her name. He said," I will have T if you are making one" - Alexa piped up, "that was such a nice way of asking, let me know how I can help" :? Spooky. She never listens to me, lol.
Toni, I hope you are ok and Lucy continues to improve. Hugs all round and chin rubs for lovely diddicat. Pepe was circat training on the carpet again this evening.
How is your heating Elixabeth? A lot better I hope.
Hi Kath, how are things going with the changes to your patches?
Hope you are ok Carol
We have had a busy ish day, went to Skipton to gather supplies, Mark's, Tesco's and Boyes (a bit like Woolies used to be). Of course we went to Nero's and had coffee, more coffee, panini and then went on our way, I forgot to have a CAKE !! I don't know what is wrong with me.
It was nice to fly round Tesco in one of their buggies. OH walks quickly when I am not there, so it is always good to keep up with him, we were round in a flash, just got what was on my list and we were out of there
Hi to anyone I have missed. I will move, before I set solid. Will potter in the kitchen a while.
Everyone take care, love to all XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Hello Barbara Mig Kerrin Christine Aidan. and anyone else I missed.
Barbara cant you say i'm going to let my hair grow a bit. I hope you have a good day.
Mig you have done well. I hope the rain soon stops.
Kerrin good luck to the team. I hope your cold soon goes.
Christine I bought the microwave from the co.op a boy working there pushed it to our bungalow in a trolley we only live the next street it cost £50 pound. how are your eyes.
Aidan there was a some thing in the airing cupboard that was switched off as soon as he put it on the water come through. so far the boiler is fine the radiators need new pins in I don't know why the other man could not have done that so my radiators still cold at the moment but the place seems warmer.
take care all Toni that looks good is Lucy is proud of it.

I'm glad you are warmer.

Brrr, freezing here, and thoroughly miserable. Aidan, what would Alexa say if you asked her for some sunshine? :sun:
Toni. Lucy's scar is very neat, much neater than my mastectomy scar. I won't post a photo of it. I have a bulge beneath my armpit, sometimes it's a bit firm and sore, don't know if I have a touch of lymphoedema (3 lymph nodes removed).
By the way, my trial with the patches seems to be going well at the moment.
Joan and Sue, I hope you are managing to keep warm. :?
Kerrin, I do hope your cough/cold soon goes away.
Sending everyone love and hugs. :cake:"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon to all, a dull day, chilly day, so stopping in and doing homey things. Pottering.
Toni the scar on Lucy's shoulder seems very neat, tidy, clean and healing well. Won't be long before you could use some bio oil to help fade out the scar, that, along with some arnica or prolagene will help nicely. That's Matron's pearl of wisdom for the day. 8)
It's healing well Lucy, don't worry if you are not too keen on looking at it, that's perfectly understandable.
Hi Joan, that sounds more promising if you have hot water flowing and the house feels warmer. Let's hope the radiators can be sorted with the minimum of delays. Progress at least. Finally.
Hi to Sue and to the lovely doggies. Have you managed to get out and about, with it being cold and having to wait for people to come sort out your heating etc, will have kept you indoors.
Hi Kath, Alexa would either ignore me, or tell me our weather forecast, but I am sure if OH asked, she would be more than able to send some sunshine, She was talking away to the tv this morning, but didn't understand the question, well, that's because no one asked you one, lol.
You could have some odema, or it could just be scar tissue that does tend to gather at the end of suture lines. They can often pop up with a little lump. Any concerns though, ask the Dr to check it out.
Glad that your trial with the patches is working out ok, we all have to juggle things about a bit, our bodies get so used to pain dullers and taking more and more is not always an option.
I had a call from my Cardiologists Secretary
Hi Aidan, was just ringing about today's appointment :?
OH, what appointment, I was going to write and ask when it was
It was for this afternoon, but, it's good if you cannot make it as Dr X is running very late and is still in the Cath lab and I was going to ask you not to set off too early.
Well, thank goodness, I am really sorry for my brain fade.
No worries, we will re book it for March. Duly done and in my diary with three notifications.
Oh how embarrassing
That was my faux pas for the day. I knew there would be a 6 month visit soon. March will be fine. I have always seen him as a private out patient, for 20 years now. He is semi retired and only works one day a week in the Cardiac Suite, doing angiogrammes, stents, pace makers etc. He is just wonderful, such a kind man and he obviously knows me inside out. He has done most of my angiogrammes, stents, balloon's and the like.
Sorting the washing and drying, was quite a bit to catch up with, as always when you have pus cats, I like to keep their bedding sparkling clean, the little hairy beasts that they are. lol. Thank goodness the tumble dryer gets rid of most of them.
We are getting umpteen calls a day from scammers, claiming to be Talktalk, (which we don't have any account with). You block their number and they just ring from another number - getting to be a pain in the neck. OH fends them off in no uncertain terms and blocks all their calls. :x
Kerrin, I hope you cold / cough is on the wane.
Hi to everyone else, Diddicat too. All ours are saying :animal_busy: at the moment.
Right, dryer has stopped, time to potter again.
Take care, catch everyone later. Love XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Evening everyone
Coughing less today so maybe not I will try going swimming tomorrow. Still debating with myself when to take my meth, wait till Fri when I normally take it,or tonight.
Netball teams did well but A team lost in the final to a team they'd beaten in the group stages. They couldn't handle the pressure and suffered from over-confidence. Next time!
B team held their own and finished 4th or 5th out of 14.
Lucy's scar looks neat. I'm sure it will heal well.
I seem to be suffering from brain fade more and more these days. I blame RA. I have the habit of double booking myself, happened this morning!
Time to go, been a long cold day. Looking forward to my warm house.

Evening all...had an emergency today one of our neighbours was taken to hospital so I sat with her sister she is 91...not a good day for her sister at hospital another neighbour went with her this morning 8.30 and she was still in a corridor at 4 this afternoon although they said the nurse couldn't have done anymore..she now has a bed and its pneumonia...
Right lets see what I can remember without looking back again..
Toni the scar looks nice and neat..mine weren't good to look at but totally different now..my second one is now 11 months I think but at 4 months is was good..
Joan I hope they hurry up with this boiler and rads...now what a good idea I want to grow my hair...
Kerrin what a shame you have to stay over in an hotel, but suppose you are used to it and can rest instead of travailing..glad to hear the cold is a little better..you must be proud of the netball team..sorry I cant help with the meths...
Christine was it your Birthday as well or did I get that wrong..it came through on facebook but has you know I dont get on...its hard work when the footpaths are closed..I have to laugh at Alexa talking to herslf...now I would get on with that...
Aiden your Alexa talks to you when you haven't asked it anything.. brilliant... my hairdresser has one and the children say please and thankyou to it..so nice...I wonder if your OH would go mobile...its so hard because she lives down the rd ..so would see her regular...glad the scone help to being you round...we go in Boyes when in Scarborough..just like woolies..I just hope they carry on ...my eldest brother was in Blackburn..with throat cancer..it didnt turn out well but they did look after him..
Hi Mig...the cushion cover sound lovely...has for the rain we had one day and that was enough like you say it effects you..I love the sunny cold days..
Kath.its good you are managing with the lover patches ..we had sun today till around 3...think its going to turn colder...
I am due a cuppa...love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Aiden, I love my sandwiches too but feel I eat too much bread. I have thought of having the filling, usually with salad, without the bread but then thing noooooo, I want bread with it. My mum always used marg as it was cheaper. I've never liked it (tastes of plastic) and always use butter now. You went out and didn't have cake. Have you taken your temperature? I think I'm quite lucky. I only get the occasional scam call. It's mostly scam emails I get.
Toni, Lucy's wound looks very neat and hopefully will fade a lot.
Joan, your microwave was expensive at the time you bought it. No wonder it has lasted so long. You can get them for less now but probably not so good. My eyes aren't any better. They water a lot because the oil ducts in my eye lids are blocked and I can see wavy lines because my eyeballs are pulling on the retinas and pulling the connective fibres off. Putting a damp warm cloth over my eyes helps for a short time. What a simple thing to sort out your boiler. Surely that should have been the first thing they looked at. Hope they get the pins fitted quickly.
Kath, good to hear your patches are working. Hope it continues.
Kerrin, what a shame the A team lost the final but they did actually come second which is very good. Well done them. And the B team too. They did well. I keep a diary with everything in it, right down to they days I'm working. It has all appointments and anything I want to do each day. I tick everything off as I do it. It does help me with my memory.
Barbara, sorry to hear about your neighbour. It must be very worrying for her sister. It is shocking that patients have to spend so much time in corridors. The medical staff are wonderful. It must be so frustrating for them. It was my GD's birthday on Sunday and mine on Monday. It's difficult keeping up with all the birthdays. There were others mentioned on here too. It is difficult when you want to tell someone you no longer want them to do something, especially when you see them a lot. I stopped my window cleaner a while back when my work hours were cut. He made me feel guilty saying I was the third person that week. Did you say Kath is using 'lover' patches? Oo-er.
I fancied having sushi for tea. Got some prawns out of the freezer and made the rice this afternoon. At teatime, I got the sushi nori (seaweed you wrap round the rice) out and found the packet was already open and it was past the use by date so that went in the bin. The prawns went in a prawn cocktail. What to do with the rice? I emptied it in to a bowl and topped it with tinned salmon. Not exactly what I wanted but at least I used it up. My GD's Ed Sheeran tickets arrived today. They were £44 each but someone saw tickets being resold for up to £700. One site had a fault and people were billed for £269 per ticket. :shock:Christine0 -
Morning. Brrrrrr it's cold, the ole fingers aren't happy.
I am proud of my netball teams, not so proud of how the other adult I tasked to manage them behaved though! Adults should model attitude and behaviour to kids. Gymnastics tomorrow, pretty much the same kids.
Barbara, hope your neighbour is ok.
£700 for an Ed Sheehan ticket, that is crazy.
Thinking of getting an Alexa. Could be entertaining.
Time to brave the cold. At least no netball or trips do can stay indoors.

Toni when does Lucy have her poorly hip done. the man is coming back next Thursday to fix my rad.
Kathleen I hope the patches carry on working well for you.
Aidan you are so busy no wonder you forgot it. yes we have been going out early.
Kerrin I hope you have a good day today and a rest.
Barbara i'm so sorry for your neighbour and her sister I hope very are both being looked after now I know you and your neighbours will help.
Christine have you had prawns in a jacket potato or rice and chicken I wondered why no one else saw what was wrong with the boiler.

Morning all
I hope Joan is feelin warmer still The idea about growing Barbara's hair was very diplomatic - very Joan
So Thursday it will feel too HOT when your rads are done!!
Lucy had percutaneous core decompression in sept on her hip to try to keep it going and delay hip replacement. The other one is yet to be scanned. Outpatients next month. Better check the date!!
Kerrin did you take your MTX last night or leaving it till your usual Friday? I hope all goes well at school today.
Glad the adults behaved too - a good bunch of kids you have there
I know what you mean about sandwiches Christine not right without bread, but we all do eat a bit too much. I have permanently changed to wholemeal seeded bread. Is your gluten free like that?
I always have butter too although I am trying to have lacto-free in things you can't really taste like sandwiches.
Your poor eyes ((()))
I'm so glad the Ed Sheeran tickets have arrived safely People can be silly having to have tickets at any cost
You did well to think of something to do with the rice and prawns. Can't get salad here ATM for love nor money.
I think we all need some of Barbara's patches!!!
That poor lady and her sister Barbara 91 she must have been so worried. I hope they whack in the antibiotics and get her home ASAP. Will the sister need lifts to visit now?
Lucy's scar is only 2 months old and I think looking great for that. Bless her. Physio is over the moon with her. 90 degrees forwards now 30 degrees to the side. That's what we are working on this next week.
We had some sunshine too. :sun: today is overcast though ;(
Aidan Apart from physio I had a homey day too microwave collected and new one should be on it's way soon I expect they want the damaged one back first though.
Lucy's scar is good, but she is a little sensitive ATM about it's appearance. I know her though she will adjust, suck it up and move onwards. She will apply every cream and oil she can when she's allowed. Oh follow up 22nd Feb with the consultant.
I think Alexa is a naughty girl having favourites!! cheeky mare!!
I definitely don't want one
Gosh you were lucky there with your outpatients appointment! You could have had a bill for nothing!! March is fie I agree and it's so much better to stick with one you know when it comes to your health.
Yes if you're not careful you can get cat hair everywhere  :animal_busy: they are busy making it and we also transfer it all over the place too.
My 7 edge warned me about one which had been reported as spam how good it that None yet on the house phone it being a fairly new number still. I hate them :x
Diddicat will be over later she's revving up her broom ready mac and galoshes on GPS ready and tins of...is that tuna?? In her back pack
Hi Kath I am so glad your patches are working well for you. I wouldn't be without mine for anything now.
I think the scar looks neat and clean and he did well to do all that work in such a small incision!!
My caesarean scar is lumpy, my appendix is dreadful, but I am told my back is a neat one
So long as you're keeping an eye on yours I am sure it will be ok. Have you ever mentioned it at one of the scary check-ups?
Love to everyone missing

Aidan, I haven't mentioned possible Lymphoedema because they would send me to another clinic. I have enough clinics already and it doesn't often hurt. I'm still having annual mammograms. 2 more before I'm back on every 3 years. Fat lot of good they do, as I can't have one on the affected side as there's nowt there to squidge. More chance of a recurrence on the bad side and not the good side. :?
Toni and Christine, we have goats butter, we prefer the taste. We've been eating wholemeal bread for years. Fed up with it now, prefer crusty white bread.
Oh Barbara, such a shame for your neighbour, especially aged 91. It's the same everywhere. I feel sorry for the staff too.
Snow flurries over Sawley.

Evening everyone. Had a pretty bad headache all day so have pulled out of going swimming tonight, feeling rather frustrated.
Decided to take my methotrexate tomorrow so have missed a weeks dose. Still lots of illness at school.
Yes some of our adults at school are worse than kids. Just entered a second netball team for the main competition late in Feb but if I do that will have to use the same adult. Might just go with one team, although I know my B team will more than hold their own.
Glad to hear that Lucy is doing well.
It's brrrrr out there, keep warm everyone.

Afternoon to all, boy is there a lazy breeze today, straight through my troosers.
Glad your cough seems to be subsiding Kerrin, good to hear. The netball teams did well, I am still working out the A and B teams lol. I think I understand :?
I am totally with you on the brain fade, it seems to have its moments far more regularly now - I blame the pills   With the pharmacy that I take it's a wonder I can function, full stop.
Your poor neighbour Barbara, good of you to stay with her, while another neighbour went to the hospital. Pneumonia cam come on within minutes and needs pretty urgent treatment. I am glad to hear that she was well cared for and is now in a proper bed, getting IV Ab's I would assume.
People waiting in corridors is always the same at this time of year, it is nothing new, the press are slating the hospitals, I was reading on Sky, writing scare mongering titles as if they were all about to close for ever.
The number of admissions naturally goes up in winter, for a number of reasons, this causes a back log and bed blocks. Stop it Aidan, enough now, off your soap box immediately.
So you will no Blackburn Hospital then Barbara, sorry about your Brother and his terrible diagnosis, but I am glad that he had excellent care. (((())))
Right. OH would not go mobile or any other way, no more hairdressing, apart from myself, mum and dad. He had more than enough, after umpteen years of owning his own salon.
That is good to have a rota to sit with your elderly neighbour, everyone is very kind and looks out for each other. Bless her, saying if I have to go in to a home, I want a nice one. That brings a lump to my throat, when Mum went into a care home.
Well, that was the afternoon gone, neighbour popped round, so I quickly saved my reply to drafts and now, it is after 11pm.
Hi Christine, oh bread is our staple diet and has been for at least 17 years. We always have the super seeded wholemeal grains and everything but the kitchen sink in We are both cheese fiends, mayonnaise too. Love beetroot.
I know, no cake, I must have had a temperature, fortunately we are back on track
Your eyes sound so sore, sending hugs. Have you tried gels, to keep the eye moist, I use carbomer gel and find it helps. There is a natural herb, called eyebright, Liz Earle does an eyebright lotion, to sooth and comfort the eye area.
Your version of the Sushi sounds to have turned out quite well, tasty. I have never tried it myself, but I know a lot of people like it and I have looked at the packs they do in the supermarkets.
Glad the tickets for Ed Sheeran arrived. The ticket touts are robbers, charging stupid money, it is like holding someone to ransom.
It has been mighty chilly Kerrin, I was frozen, just walking a few yards this morning.
You are quite right, leading by example is a great teacher and an adult with poor attitude etc, will only give credence to such behaviour in a youngster.
I am sure you are proud of your netball teams. Hope all goes well with the gymnastics.
Oh do get an alexa, they are great. (don't tell Toni ) lol.
Good that you manage to get out and about joan, albeit earlier in the day. Strange that no one spotted what seems to be a fairly simple fix to your heating. The sooner the better, it is a really cold week.
Hi Toni, glad to hear that the range of movement in Lycy's shoulder is improving, way to go Lucy. Follow up appointment on 22nd, will note that for cape duties. (don't worry if I forget and need reminding)
I hope your dinged microwave is replaced very soon. Everything retro is good
I did dodge the forgotten appointment, I got an email from his sec to say that they had caught up, so, really, I did him a favour :? Sort of.
I know, Alexa is very rude to me, lol. If I talk in a high pitch, she is fine. lol.
The war on fur is a constant one, both Mother and Son have long hair, often leaving a trail and dust bunnies..........no matter how often you clean and groom.
Yes, the S7 recognises spam and harrassement calls, so you can block them straight away. Super clever.
How did Miss Slimkins know it was Tuna for lunch, she must have a long range radar. Pepe did his madcat circuit training today, mad half hour, flying round, ears back, jumping onto everything, growling - as they do.......bless, poor Diddicat didn't know where he was. Glad she is home safely, it is way too cold to be out on her broomstick tonight.
You are quite right Kath, you would be off to another clinic without a doubt and you don't need that. Well, let's hope all is well and you can go onto the three year scans, as you say, there is nothing to squish on one side, ((()))
Never tried goats butter, I like goats cheese, so I am sure it would be very nice.
Crusty white bread is wonderful, fresh and warm, with lots of butter. mmmmmmm Followed by indigestion
just been to back door and it is little ice balls, tinkling down, like polystyrene. Everywhere will soon look white. We don't want that, it is GC today, hopefully the lovely lady who bakes the scones is feeling better and we have a lovely fresh batch to attack.
We had a potter about, went to our local Nero's, coffee and scone, then to the tip (we know how to have a good time) lol. Then to Booth's, then to pick up half of my repeat px, then home, then ring drs again as I had forgotten to order tramadol and I only have three left. Lovely lady said they will be ready today, Friday. Cannot go without them for the week end. I don't take the full dose, but I do need them.
Not seen mum and dad for a couple of days so will be nice to have a catch up and a coffee, then no doubt off to Sainsbury's.
Better move, pepe is in kitchen, howling. Love to all, keep warm, take care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0
