Hooray, we have our dear mig back in the fold again. Wonderful news mig, we are very proud of you. Here we are celebrating. p020.gif

Joan, no we haven't even seen our neighbours yet. We've heard them pottering, in fact last night they did a bit of drilling. :?: :!: Normally I would have knocked on the door and introduced myself, but I just can't make it round there. There isn't even a fence for me to hang onto. :?

Toni, I saw Holly this morning. She'd forgotten about our RT, but picked one up when she took Esme to her first day back at school. She came back with our RT. :D Yes I was so grateful to the pharmacy for their hard work and conscientiousness (sp). I just have my Leflunomide to be delivered now. My GP is on annual leave (why can't they just say HOLIDAY?) and another GP is signing all her prescriptions as well as her own. :o

Aidan, so you haven't sussed all of Hildegarde's "interface" yet. Don't worry, as long as Bill knows what's what, he is the driver after all. I'm glad you got the ball rolling for dad. You take care of him so well, so lovely that he trusts you implicitly. Many thanks for the scones. :D

I've just had to have a restart because of windows updates and now I can't scroll down through all the other posts. Well at least I saved the bit of my post that I'd typed up, so I didn't lose it.

    Vegan Lasagne
    Ingredients
    30g bag dried porcini mushrooms
    6 tbsp olive oil

    1 onion, finely chopped
    2 carrots, finely chopped
    2 celery sticks, finely chopped
    4 garlic cloves, sliced
    few sprigs of thyme

    1 tsp tomato purée
    100ml vegan red wine (optional)
    250g dried green lentils
    2 x 400g cans whole plum tomatoes
    250g pack chestnut mushrooms, chopped
    250g pack portobello mushrooms, sliced
    1 tsp soy sauce

    1 tsp Marmite
    6 tbsp plain flour
    900ml soya milk
    1 whole nutmeg, for grating
12 lasagne sheet2-3 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional, adds cheesy flavour)
    green salad, to serve

    Method
Pour 800ml boiling water over the dried porcini and leave for 10 mins until hydrated. Meanwhile pour 1½ tbsp oil into a large saucepan. Add the onion, carrot, celery and a pinch of salt. Cook gently, stirring for 10 mins until soft. Remove the porcini from the liquid, keeping the mushroomy stock and roughly chop. Set both aside.

Add the garlic and thyme to the pan. Cook for 1 min, then stir in the tomato purée and cook for a minute more. Pour in the red wine, if using, cook until nearly reduced, then add the lentils, reserved mushroom stock and cans of tomatoes. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and leave to simmer with the lid on.

Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan. Add 1½ tbsp oil, then tip all of the mushrooms into the pan, including the rehydrated ones. Fry until all the water has evaporated and the mushrooms are deep golden brown. Pour in the soy sauce. Give everything a good mix, then scrape the mushrooms into the lentil saucepan.

Stir in the Marmite, then continue to cook the ragu, stirring occasionally, over a lo -medium heat for 30-45 mins until the lentils are cooked and the sauce is thick and reduced, adding extra water if necessary. Remove the thyme sprigs and season to taste.

Heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. To make the white sauce, heat 3 tbsp olive oil in a pan, whisk in the flour and cook for a couple of minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste, then slowly whisk in the soya milk. Cook out until you have a creamy sauce, about 10 mins. Season to taste, adding a good grating of nutmeg.

Spread a third of the ragu on the bottom of your ovenproof dish, then top with 6 lasagne sheets, followed by another third of the vegan white sauce, then another third of the ragu. Top with the remaining lasagne sheets, then the remaining ragu and finally, spread over the rest of the white sauce. Sprinkle over the nutritional yeast, if using, and bake for 45 mins-1 hr until the pasta is cooked.

Afternoon to all - A sunny day here, m0150 m0150 that was until we finished waxing Hildegard - then it has rained since. t111055 t111055    She was covered in those bloomin seeds from birch trees, never had as many, ever.

I think we have Albatross somewhere about as well. Twice now, since Monday, Hlide has been p****d on from a great height :? :?

Apart from that she is fine, gleaming, under the raindrops.

Hi Toni - Glad I chose scones, for afternoon treats yesterday, missing cakes on the village cart. Well, you did have a HUGE distraction t4591 t69044 t69044
Glad all puskins are now clothed / collared and suitably fed and fussed. That's good, Charley will stop at Tia's, as it is nearer to work for her.
I am sure the puskins will cuddle up to her :)

Dad was ok overnight and his wee was only pinkish, not frank blood, so not quite sure why the difference between evening and morning. Omitted the anticoagulant pills, as Dr said.
Dad was fine, ready for his toe doing, so off they went. I stopped at home.
Hie toes is healed now and the podiatrist has made a moulded piece to put between his little and second toe. No dressing needed. :D Just one check, next week.

I had another dust in the cockpit, piano black is a magnet for all things dusty and bitty   worth it though :lol: I even managed to fathom a few things in the settings menu's on the interface  :? :? Sounds like the Enterprise :lol:

It is more eco for them to stop start, not sure if Hilde will tell you about CO savings, she probably will. I cannot believe how much petrol they put in, nearly a full tank. We only left a teaspoon in Beatrice :? :?:lol:

Pauls van sounds to be over sensitive, you should be able to carry out a three point turn without it stop starting

Sleek was over early doors and they went up to Pendle. Mother was wrapped up as if she was on a polar expedition.:lol: (she had a little "lapse" yesterday, I would guess a small TIA, she was round in two seconds and fine again). Age is catching up with us all.

Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both ok and the weather is not too bad. We have had all sorts of weather, rain, sunshine, strong winds, more rain..........
They will soon find out what it wrong with Dad, at his Urology appt on Monday. If he has any further problems before then, he will need admission. Matron will keep an eye, for sure (((())))

The car knows all the cafe's and T rooms, from here to Skipton :lol::lol: Love to both and the doggies too t4591 t4591

Hi Kath, we are very proud of Mig, very proud. It is lovely to have her back in the cafe again, after all she has been through.

So you have heard pottering from the new neighbours and then some drilling  can tenants do drilling :? :?
A shame you cannot get round to say hello. They might well come round to yours and say hi

Glad your pills are sorted and that Holly has been to get your RTimes
Holidays / annual leave / one and the same, if you are off, you are off.

B is getting used to all the different things with the car. I am happy reading the manual and then forgetting what I have just read
Dad is doing ok, they have done a great job at fast tracking him through, to see what is what.

Good that you saved the post, with the reboot of the PC. Sometimes they push out an update and it seems to cause more issues than it solves

Thank you for the vegan Lasagne, looks amazing. Ta mi duck.

Hope any ouches are minimal (((())))

Hi Barbara - how are you and yours? I was thinking of Niamh and her first day back at school. Will she be over to see you later today? Full of excitement about her new lessons :) Love to all t4591

Hi Carol - trust you are ok and your bumps and bruises are fading away now. t4591

Hi to everyone else, around and about.

Time I was pottering again. Sunshine once more m0150 m0150

Will pop in again later on. Leaving lots of love and sparkles t4591 t115006 XXXX Aidan

Hi to all - hope everyone is ok :)

Hi Barbara - It was quite warm at times, almost had a couple of mellow "moments" this afternoon   :lol:

We used to go to Skeggy and to Mablethorpe, Mablethorpe was the favourite I think. Mother liked the boating lake :D

The tide used to go out so far, you never found the sea  :lol:
It is very flat, miles of flatness :? :?:lol:

Don't worry about the names of the treats, I forget them myself too. As long as they are good, that is all that matters.
Dad didn't ring tonight and he was ok when B left earlier in the day. He had been out feeding the birds and pottering about. Thank you for your kind thoughts, we will know more on Monday afternoon, after his Urology appt.

Yes, we can chatter to the car, reading the book (again) there are all sorts of things you can ask her. She is very polite :D:D A bit like Alexa, but softer spoken.

Good idea, using the brolly as a parasol :) I dare not think what your car was like coming back from Llandudno, all those seagulls
So you get told off by Mr B, for pressing buttons. I don't have that many to press, I can mess about with things in the middle console, but I have to be subtle  :? not a strong point of mine :lol:

Still no comments from neighbours front, sides or back............it is the colour I think. Mind you, Hilde is a slightly different shape to Beatrice, more rounded and sleek. Someone will twig on soon :D

Good to hear that you had a lovely day on Tuesday, then Niamh came over, feeling very proud to be at Junior school t4591 t4591

You are at the eye clinic on Monday, we are at Burnley with Dad, the cloak will be very busy indeed   It can be in umpteen places at once, which is a magical thing t115006 t115006
Rest those squiffy eyes now. Love to all

Hi Toni, how are things with the renovations? Sleek said that the wudd had gone arownd the wallz  - assuming the skirting board, is all in place. It must be looking very smart indeed now.

Do we need afternoon T, to officially open the newly renovated room :D:D I think we do :):)

Now, was it choir practice last night? I seem to remember that practice reconvened after the summer holidays...............The Sisters never mentioned anything, unless they have been barred :o:lol::lol:

Sleek came over to sit with Mother at siesta time. There was munching of sweets and some shrieking - I think they were looking at Wedding photo's t4591 t4591

Hi Carol - how are you and yours - managed to spend a little time in your favourite coffee bar recently :D:D
It will be lunch out with Mr T today and coffee per chance, in the afternoon. t115006 t115006

Hi to Mig, Kerrin, Christine, Crinkly, DD, SW, Toady, Mell, Elizabeth and all t4591

No appointments today, apart from with the GC for brunch. Dad will enjoy that. Then a little shopping. No great plans. We might have a drive out somewhere at the week end, give Hilde a run :D

Time to potter. Tennis is on, Serena, heading towards the finals in N York if she wins tonight.

Morning - feels chillier even today than yesterday so far :?

Ah good frittata for breakfast thanks Aidan :) Well yes the skirting is in fact on in the 'room' and the decorator came to look at what he needs to do (staining the skirting to match the rest of the house, painting the ceilings with the new skylights  ). He starts on the 16th.

Yes choir is back in full-swing! Sisters still in Vegas I think....or maybe they've followed Tia and Mikey to Mauritius!! HAH!!!!

Now where did those cats get the photos from? Get them they have they must have sneaked into the photographer's studio  Easy enough for them I suppose. Sleek is taking extra care with Mother she is very protective of her now with her advancing years ((())) :animal_busy: Wrapped up snug at all times and Pepe's Drs kit it nearby too

The Cloak is all ready for our appointments on Monday and as you say we can all support each other with no difficulty at all t4591 Good idea to protect Dad's toe with that spongy thing...glad the wee was less red. Which anticoagulant is he on then?

Tia and Mikey have left Dubai now and are en route to Mauritius for the beach part of their honeymoon m0150 Charley was 'doing' their cats yesterday and naughty Oreo didn't come in for her so I had to go over myself...in he came all innocent  I can see two more being enrolled at Hogwarts - in Tommy Thumb's year I think. Bless Hermione with that intake

Enjoy brunch at the GC. I think B needs to wash the car draw a little attention to it  I see you tried that one :? oh those birch/beech seeds :x everywhere! Not known for their observational skills your neighbours :lol: Online lots are complaining about the sensitivity of the VW transporter's 'stop-start' so irritating

The chocolate brownie cake was delightful t4591

Barbara yes Charley and the new GF are getting on very well indeed she is making her very happy t4591

Tia's dress was exquisite  that's the word for it! Wait till you see the 'proper' pics!

You might have seen earlier, but one of Tia's pusskins wouldn't come indoors for Charley  Straight in for Grandma though

We'll be with you on Monday for eye clinic ((()))

Kath have you got Holly to get you a 'welcome to your new home' card? Then the new neighbours might visit you instead? She got the RT second go then :) Good girls she is.

It's good when you have a reliable pharmacy - ours is wonderful too. Been going since Lucy was a baby. Oh yes A/L not holiday - pretentious isn't it?

My windows update did something like that to me, but the next day it was all back to normal. Oh I remember I couldn't click on the smilies :(

Joan I most certainly do ache!! But it was worth it and is easing off now :D Yesterday was a much quieter day despite choir practice :)

    Love to everyone

    Hello Everyone
It’s colder now I don’t like the cold weather I don’t expect you do either.
Joan is doing the dog walk before we go for our meal out.
Joan has been crying because of the pain.she has managed to get a doctors appointment at 4 so hopefully he will help her she doesn’t want to talk to you about it because she says you’re worse than she is. I have told her she should talk about it I hope that’s okay.

Morning Sue, Oh poor Joan, you must tell her we are here to listen to her woes and she is equally as bad as any of us here, so please tell us about them. I don't think anyone likes the cold much. But I don't enjoy hot weather either. I hope you are wrapped up warm. I'm so sorry Joan has had to do the doggy walking, tell her she must rest that poorly foot when she gets back I hope her appointment provides her with some good pain relief. I think our cloak of invisibility is twitchng and preparing to gather us all up for 4 O clock. We'll be watching the doc like a Hawk to nake sure she helps our Joan good and proper. t4591 t4591 t4591 t4591

Toni, yep I think it's time to fish me thermals out. :? So Tia and Mikey are on their way to Mauritius, won't need any thermals there. I haven't asked Holly to get us anything extra as I don't want to put on her too much. They'll live without knowing moany old me. :D

Aidan, yes we used to like Mablethorpe too. When Emily was little we bought her a small cuddly Ladybird from Mablethorpe market. She called it Mabel Thorpe. I'm sure your neighbours will notice Hilde when she has her umbrella/sunshade on. I'm enjoying this Frittata mi duck, ta very much.

Barbara, oh Skeggy Butlins, now your talking. All the East coast is nice and flat, that's why it's so popular with the elderly and disabled. Aidan is right, when the tide went out there was a few miles of beach before you found the sea.

    Vegan Plum Tart
    Ingredients
1 and 1/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
    1 tsp cornstarch
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1/4 tsp sea salt
5 tbsp vegan butter – room temperature we use Earth Balance brand
    3/4 cup coconut sugar
    1/3 cup apple sauce
    1 tsp pure almond extract
    3/4 cup almond milk
4 large black plums – sliced into 1/4 inch slivers
    2 tbsp chilled vegan butter
    3 tbsp coconut sugar

    Instructions
Heat the oven to 350° and coat a 9 inch spring form pan with the 2 tablespoons of chilled butter and the coconut sugar.
In a medium size bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together until it looks light and fluffy.
Whip the vegan butter and coconut sugar in a mixing bowl on a high speed until it’s completely combined. Unlike regular butter and sugar, this won’t look fluffy. Now add the apple sauce and almond extract and whip until combined.
Add one third of the flour mixture to the mixing bowl and blend on a low speed until mostly combined. Add 1/3 of the almond milk and blend. Continue adding the flour and milk in 1/3 increments.
Arrange the plum slices in the buttered and sugar coated spring form pan. Gently pour the batter over the plums and carefully smooth until the pan is evenly covered.
    Bake for 50-60 minutes.
Let it cool completely before removing from the pan.
    Serve with custard.

Afternoon to all :) It was sunny, now cloudy and very breezy.

It was chilly, Toni, first thing this morning, the heating clicked in at 19 degrees

Both windows open now, lots of fresh air and lots of mesh to keep the wasps out   They are stupid daft at the moment. Yesterday when Hilde was having a wax by B. (I was kind of helping :? :? ) we were being dive bombed, they loved the smell of the wax..........not to self, wear bee keepers outfit when outdoors :lol::lol:
No problem, enjoy the frittata. Good that you are almost fully finished, another week and the decorator will be there to finish things off nicely :) Sleek is most pleased and Mother did have a little glide, or did her back legs go all wibbly again :? :?

Good good, choir is back and in full voice. The Sisters are doing a show in Vegas, until October, then they will be back -  giving it large :lol:

Mother said, with a smile, have you not seen all the official photo's of the wedding. Well, no, none of us have.................goodness knows how they managed it, a spell me thinks t115006 t115006

Sleek had been over while we were out this morning, the fleecy blankets were all shuffled around, she had been wrapping Mother up to keep her extra warm in the sunshine. t4591 t4591

I see we are on cloak duties later, for Joan, who is in a lot of pain with her ankle. Bless her heart. They can help I am certain, it is 2019, not the dark ages, so let's trust they can offer adequate relief for her.

Then the cloak will be out with Barbara on Monday and with Dad and us two ere, in the afternoon................it's all go..................

Dads wee is back to normal  which is great, but, still keeping the appt for Monday, need to know where or what was the cause of the bleeding.

Dad is on Rivaroxaban - a relatively new anticoagulant. Stopped now, until seen on Monday by Urology Dr.............

Glad that Tia and Michael are en route to their beach holiday, white sands and azure seas

So Oreo would not come in for Charley, but was totally innocent when you drove over to encourage him in. Mother is having a word with Minerva, she might be the best one to teach puskin manners and social awareness   They can be home tutored for a while, then go to Hogwarts for their exams.

Brunch was v nice, B had a Beth Special, I had cauliflower pot with chips and Dad had prawn sandwiches. Then I had to try the Autumn cake.............triple layer, one vanilla, one caramel, one chocolate - gorgeous it was too.

Yep, we have tried the waxing and fussing, no neighbours came out. We will have another "do" tomorrow :) They must be blinded by Hildegards beauty :D:D:lol::lol:

Sounds like VW need to do an update to the eco start functions, if it is a widespread niggle.

Good to hear that the ouchies are more tolerable. t115006 t115006

Hi Sue and Joan - oh Bless, poor Joan being in tears with pain, that is awful for her.
Of course Joan can talk to all of us, no one ever thinks that one person has more wrong than the other. We all have problems, all of those health problems are for us to share and talk about, shout, grumble, be upset - no matter what. t4591 t4591 I am sure that the Dr will be able to offer some pain relief regime that can bring things under control.
It is difficult at times, but, there are so many different options, I am certain the Dr will help.

We will be there for the Drs appointment - sending lots of (((()))) to you both.

hope you managed to enjoy your lunch out (((())) t4591

Hi Kath - We are all gathering, ready for Joan's appointment at the Drs, Bless her heart.
We will be watching the Dr like Hawks, no doubt about it mi duck.

So the thermals are coming out of wraps then   I would pass out :lol:
I am sure Holly doesn't mind gathering some things for you, while she is already going to the shops. I think a card is a good idea, as a precursor to the new neighbours popping round and saying thank you ................... Good plan from our Toni :D:D

Mable Thorpe the ladybird, I like it. I cannot ever remember finding the sea at Mablethorpe, the tide always seemed to be out, way beyond the horizon :? :?
I was happy enough in the paddling pools, as far as I recall. It was a "few" years back...............50 plus  :o:o

Ah, we used the merc brolly this morning, it was raining a little when we got to the GC, so we stood under it, with no one about to see it   :lol::lol: At least it is Christened now :)

Toni was asking about observational skills of the neighbours, well, there are different levels, if there is gossip, or someone has done or said something, then that will be round faster than lightning. We avoid that at all costs, cannot be doing, we have enough on without tittle tattle. Everyone knows we are not interested in who said what to who and why.................

Now, let me be looking at that lovely plum tart - ta love, it looks gorgeous. (((()))) for any ouchies that might be about

Hi Barbara - will Niamh be over later, to stop over, after her first week at Juniors? I bet Mr B will be off to fetch her from school. Is it far away from you?
    Love to all XX

Hi To Carol - how has your week been, busy away I am guessing. Trust you had a pleasant lunch, then coffee shop visit later this afternoon. :D:D

Hi to Mig and to all our friends t4591 t4591

Time I was pottering, yet again, needs must, keeps you from setting

    Evening all

Just realised how many days have gone by since my last post oops 4 days. Well all is good here bruising is fading very slowly I still have some bad areas, It had been quite painful until Monday, but I have been wearing some Tubigrip on ankle and lower leg since Monday afternoon, and it is certainly improving pain wise. Mr T is behaving and not causing any problems ha ha  yes Aidan we did have lunch today and I did go into my favourite chill out place for coffee, but solo today as my friend is away at the moment. Knit and natter was very odd on Wednesday as there was only 3 of us there. Usually there can be anything up to about 15 of us.

It was our church pastors last day on Sunday so the church is now in the hands of our 4 church leaders. We had a good meal and time together after the service in the morning. Before we said our good byes to him and his wife.

Our youngest daughter has been on antibiotics for cellulitis due to a bite but she is ok and says that it is now getting better.

Lillie has gone back to school and like Niamh is now in juniors Graycie, and Faye have gone back to nursery today and Ashley started nursery today.

Thank you all for your lovely comments on the little jacket Kath yes it is like a coat of many colours but didn’t have to worry about the colours because they were all in the wool. The problem was the pattern Aidan no I am not having a rest from knitting I have now started a little cardigan for Rubie. This one is just plain with no pattern the wool is self patterning so shouldn’t take long.

Well I think that’s about all I can update you on

Time for some pics we thinks

    Me Faye Ashley and Kian

I will be well shattered at bedtime tomorrow I expect as we have our big family get together party that was arranged by one of my cousins who after many of us said at my aunties funeral that funerals and weddings were the only times we all seemed to get together, and as there has been a lack of the latter in the family it seems mainly the former. He took this on board found a hall and booked a family party or knees up as he put it. But with the age of some of us it won’t be quite a knees up. .

Well it’s time for a potter now love and sparkles to you all

Hi to all :) Clear skies and cooler, but quite pleasant.

Like you Barbara, I love Autumn, Winter and Spring. Winter not so much because of ninny walking :lol: when it is snowy / icy.

Glad you enjoyed the fudge sauce with Kath's lovely plum tart. :D

We did get some rain on the new brolly :D even when it had stopped, we kept the brolly up for a while :lol: t111055 Someone will spot the new registration plate at some point, then word will be out and round the park like a shot.

Wasps are just being totally daft at the moment, it is silly season, with them high on sugars from fermenting fruit. It is every man for himself, getting to the car, then getting in, with me throwing crutches about and wafting like mad :lol::lol:

So you have a purple drive, once the birds feast on blackberries

We have the joys of pine needles to come soon. The pine trees near us, shed all their needles late autumn. They rain down, literally, stick to everything, cover the cars

Dad was ok today, he enjoyed his lunch at the GC, they always give him extra ice cream, he says one scoop and he gets three :D:D why not I say.

Your appt is at 3, Dads is at 2,20, so we will all be in two places at once. Clever cloak. t115006 t115006

Pasta dinner for Niamh. She is not a fussy eater though by all accounts. Hope you have a good time, love to all

    FatalSomberAegeancat-size_restricted.gif

Hi Carol - all those hours are vanishing into the shed again - we must have a trip down to the secret garden with two wheelbarrows, try and recoup some of them. :D:D

Good to hear that most of the bruising is going now and the tubigrip has offered some support over the past few days. Mr T is behaving, that is very good to hear. I was wondering if he would be extra quiet, with the recent retirement of the Pastor.

Lunch out, excellent then a quiet time at your favourite cafe bar. I know you don't mind whiling away some time in there. Is the coffee really yummy? They must have cakes too :D:D:lol::lol: one track cake mind that I possess

Gosh, up to 15 at your knit and natter group, that is a lot of needles going at one time. It must have felt odd for there to be only 3 in total.

Glad you Daughter is on the mend from cellulitis, wonder what bit her - some little critter. :? :?

So you are knitting a little cardigan for Rubie, but not overly complex like the jacket was.

Thank you for sharing the pictures, lots of lovely cuddles t4591 t4591

Big family "knees up" tonight, you will be shattered. A good idea by your Cousin, to organise a family get together. It is a common thing, that Weddings and Funerals are one time that everyone seems to meet :?
Steady away with the knees up though. More of a foot tapping maybe :D:D Hope you all have a lovely time t4591 t4591

Hi Toni - hope you are all recovering from the Wedding Week End. It only seems like yesterday :o
A restful few days will do you good, steady the ouchies. t4591

Sleek was over at siesta time, catching up on SYTTD Atlanta - Mother nodded off, but Sleek was quiet and kept an eye on her t4591

Dad will be round this morning for his lunch. Watch some golf over croissants and coffee.

Hi to everyone in and about. Hope you are having a nice week end.

Time I was pottering, watch some tennis.

Leaving lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 t115006

Morning everyone! Just got to feed Tia's pusskins and go to the first Best Kept Village meeting for 2020  do we enter???

These crispy potatoes are yum Aidan thanks very much :) They will keep me going until lunch out with our lovely neighbours and Pom and hub.

The girls have said they are going to watch more TV as the weather is going down hill.....Sleek is looking after Tosca really well. Even got Mrs Darcey helping her! :animal_busy: I suspect that the 'glide' was actually a slip up artfully disguised.....Sleek thinks so but says shhh! not a word!

and yes Sleek admitted Mother 'gott us inn the fotogrferz hows' they have seen the wedding pics

Minerva needs to get started what an intake that year will be with Tommythunb, Oreo and Jessie (I call her Jessica - I'm allowed being Grandma!)

Decorator can come on 16th same day as the rads go in so will all be done soooon!

Dad's wee returned to normal? That is good, but absolutely must be checked out. Did I ask whether you'd eaten beetroot?

Beth's special taken of course Tia's wedding cake was 3 layers too - one lemon one carrot and one salted caramel/chocolate t4591

Your neighbours are like ours - gossip...……..off like a flash everything else slightly slower!!! Time they used tehir EYES now!!! Avoid the wasps  step away from the wasps!

How odd Carol down from 15 to 3 at knit and natter  perhaps a lot of sensible 'adults' have left taking their holidays until the kids have gone back to school :?

Hope you enjoyed a quiet cuppa without your friend. Rubie's turn for something nice to be knitted by GGMother :) t4591 Great pics - Ashley is a wiggly one isn't he?! aww.

Mr T is behaving? That IS good news!!! We much prefer peace and harmony don't we?

You enjoy that family get-together and I hop it's not too tiring for you or your leg :?

Tia and Mikey are much happier in Mauritius Barbara it has air! Dubai was just too hot even though they were spoiled to death m0150

I know naughty Oreo! I would have called him Hercules after Poirot he has a black 'tache!

The Cloak can easily cope with Aidan's Dad at 2.20 you at 3 both are likely to be running late no doubt

Kath you aren't moany! Your neighbours will love you when you finally meet them. I understand you don't want to overburden Holly of course....aha order a card with your Tesco order!!

I love the name Mabel Thorpe! Clever girl Emily t4591

Vegan plum tart ooh lovely and I've had some of Aidan's caramel sauce on top perfect :)

Well Sue and Joan we all moan on here when we are struggling and are no 'worse' than Joan.

I do hope the Dr has helped you Joan and your aren't in so much pain ((()))

Dear Joan, I'm glad your GP has increased your Cocodamol. I hope it makes you more comfortable and with Less Pain. You are walking differently possibly to compensate for pain elsewhere, which is only natural, but sadly it can cause more pain. Try and get plenty of rest this weekend. t4591

Toni, I can just imagine Sleek and Mother nosying around the 'fotogrferz hows'. I wonder what else they found? Best Kept Village meeting for 2020, of course you must enter.Actually, I have a box of cards on a shelf under the stairs. None specifically 'welcome to your new home' but I might sort one out. :D Yes Emily is a clever girl (although she is 40 this year )

Aidan, wasps are always a bit daft. It's probably paranoia on their part down to the fact that everyone thinks they will sting them and try to swat them. If you stay as calm and still as you can, they will leave you alone. Glad to hear dad OK, but I know you will make doubly sure with the doctor. I had red wee when I was on chemo, the drug was 'Epirubicon'. The nurses always warn you before they give it you, I can't imagine how scary it would be. Thanks for those gorgeous taters mi duck.

Carol, only 3 at knit and atter. It must have been rather quiet apart from the neddles clicking. I'm sorry your daughter has/had Cellulitis. Very painful, I had it a couple of times. Thank you for the lovely photos, Ashley looks quite a fidget bottom. I wonder if Kian will be the same? I hope Rubie's cardigan doesn't cause you any problems. a080.gif

Barbara, I also love Autumn, and it feels definitely cool enough for a jumper, and woolly socks.I'm glad everyone enjoyed the plum tart, and Aidan's sauce made it really tasty.

    Mexican Quinoa Stew
    ★★★★★

Recipe yields 4 large or 6 more modest bowls.

    INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon coconut oil (or tablespoon olive oil instead)
    1 medium yellow onion, chopped
    2 celery stalks, chopped
    3 carrots, chopped
4 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
    2 jalapeños, seeded and chopped
    3 ½ cups water
1 large can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 ½ cups cooked black beans or 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
    1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
    2 teaspoons fine sea salt
    ½ cup quinoa (dry/uncooked)
    ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (for extra heat, optional)
    Freshly ground black pepper
Optional garnishes : extra chopped cilantro, small wedges of lime, diced avocado, crumbled tortilla chips, grated cheese, sour cream

    INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium Dutch oven or soup pot, warm the oil over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, carrots, garlic, and jalapeños. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes.
Add the water, tomatoes, beans, cumin, salt, quinoa, cilantro and cayenne pepper (if using). Season with pepper and bring the soup to a boil.
Once boiling, lower the heat, cover the pot, and let the soup simmer until the quinoa is tender, about 15 minutes. Once the quinoa is tender, add more salt and pepper to taste, if necessary. You can serve this soup right away or use an immersion blender to purée a couple cups of this soup—this helps to thicken the soup while still leaving some texture (I may have overdone it a bit).
Divide into bowls and serve with any garnishes that you’d like. Store leftovers, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Afternoon to all - very sunny here, with a pleasant breeze -

The day has just vanished, with Dad round until early afternoon, then nieghbour and her bestie, came round, bestie picked up the repairs that B had done to her porcelain fugurine, she was SO chuffed, you cannot tell. All painted and matched in as well as glued. :) He is a clever lad

They have only just gone, having given us a shopping list, (we are going to Skipton tomorrow, just the two of us, some down time needed, before a week of scans, oscopy's and whatever else comes along.)

I could have eaten those tatties all day long Toni, and I can guess Kath will have been attacking them too :)

Hope you had a lovely lunch with your neighbours and Pom and hubby :)

    Best kept village for 2020 - of course you must enter, :D:D:D 8) 8) t69044 t69044

I am sure Minnerva will call upon Hermione, to keep the new Students into line.:lol: It will take a joint effort I am sure

Of course Grandma can call her Jessica

Ooh, will you ask Pom when we can cut the wisteria back a bit. They are only small really, just want to get the right time of year, cheers mi dears :)

Dr did ask Dad if he had been attacking the beetroot, it was my first ?? as well :lol: I love it to bits and could eat a whole jar, being aware that wee wee's change colour SLIGHTLY

Definitely need to check with a cystoscopy to see what has been going on with his bladder. Even though all is clear at the moment.

Wedding cake sounds just perfect, great choices t4591 t4591

Finally, mandy said, when she called earlier in the day, have you got a new car, I keep looking and thinking, is it the same...........pennies are dropping now. B took her to look inside, too much like a spaceship :lol::o:o Her Son likes it too..........word is now out....................so most will know by the time Sunday comes

Oh wasps, they are just being stupid, diving when you open a door or window, bloomin nuts they are.

Glad Tia and Michael are enjoying Mauritius, Dubai can totally roast you, even though there is AC everywhere, there is no air outside, just HEAT.

Hi Joan and Sue - I am glad to hear that the Dr has increased your CO CO's, they will help. Are they soluble ones? They work quickly. I think a lot of us take them, as well as other pain relief. Keeping a lid on pain is a struggle at times, but we usually can with a bit of juggling of meds.
I hope you are feeling less ouchy today Joan t4591 t4591 Love to you both and to the doggies XXX

Dad is still Dad, or Father in Law to give him his proper title. But, I call him Dad all the time and have done for years :)

Hi Kath - I have tried to remain calm, with wasps, but, that lasts for about half a second and then I am wafting and knocking things flying    it is an involuntary reaction :lol:

Bees, moths, daddy long legs, beetles, (not earwigs though), bugs in general, I am fine. Wasps and spi---s is a different matter

Dad was quite alarmed by passing blood and even though it has settled, we need to know what the cause was / is / could be ? B will be with him, to make sure the Consultant gets all the facts correctly. I will be pottering in the hosp corridors :? :? being nosy :)

Epirubicin can certainly alter your wee, to a very dark colour :? :?

I knew you would love those tatties luv. t4591 :D:D:D

Hi Barbara - hope you and yours are all ok. How is Mr B, with his walking and ouchies? (((()))) Gentle hugs all round. :D:D t4591 Did Niamh go to skating today, with or without Nan and her ear plugs :lol:

Another sunny day ahead here :) Thanks for the breakfast bake Aidan I love butternut squash.

Sleek and mother's choice of sparkles is 'quite so' as Tosca would say! I think it's spot on! Sleek thought her slip looked fine and rather glam! Mrs D is happy to help and Tommy would LOVE to help, but Mother might get knocked over he's so boisterous!!

Most of all though Sleek wants Tosca to herself - she is very protective. :animal_busy:

Heavens to Betsy Minerva will need Hermione too and the threat of 'Mr Potter' of course to keep next years' Hogwarts intake in paw!

We are up to Macclesfield to Arighi Bianchi (argy bargy) to look at furniture. Dad can watch the England game ( or rather sleep to it!). Enjoy Nero's - try the decaff!

Bianca Andreescu (sp) is amazing at 19 isn't she? wow!!

You do indeed have a week ahead and not a great one, but hopefully some answers and fingers crossed some reassurance. Blood anywhere is just frightening.

Wisteria needs cutting back to 5 buds now ASAP!! Go go go!!!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! Mandy sussed Hildegard!!:lol::lol: You will be the talk of the park now won't you? Everyone will be nosing as you go in and out - expect no less!!

I had several cookie and cream brownies this evening as neither of us could fit any tea in after our HUGE lunch out t4591

Kath I think they saw some sights ait the fotograferz hows! Mother was horrified at some of the sights - no-one has told us specifically what yet though

Yes a nice card will do a blank one you can write your own message can't you? I am going to do the same for my neighbours to thank them for lunch yesterday.

Yum Mexican quinoa stew/soup lovely thank you I am starting for feel like I need that sort of warming food.

Joan yes when something hurts we often walk - wonky I call it to ease the pain a bit, but it makes somewhere else hurt instead!!!

    I hope the extra Co-cos have helped? :? ((()))

Right better chuck some clothes on and sort out Tia's pusskins! I will ask her to pack some sun when she comes back :) m0150

Nero's well, walked in, nearly passed out.............their heating and ventilation system had gone totally into reverse and the shop was worse than the hottest day we had this year, much hotter. People were leaving, or opening the door, then walking away.
We managed a coffee, but then said, sorry guys, we cannot stop, I will pass out..............

Had to go a few doors up the street to Costa, which was quiet, cool and pleasurable, apart from wasps.................who in their right minds would sit out, with sugary drinks and big cakes, on a sunny day in September - tourists, that's who

We were safe, inside. Lunch was v nice. B popped into "the Works" for some crafty things, for his various projects. I stayed put :)
Boyes, for some supplies, Buggy round Tesco, then home by 2 ish.

Hildegard was a delight to waft along in, with all systems active. Red triangle on screen - what's that.....  .......look in the book.................

You are too close to the car in front, to stop safely, at your current speed. We were not tailgating though.

She has a radar that watches in front of you   :? :? Sorry Hilde, we won't do that again............ :? :? Duly told off, smacked wrists.

Andreescu was amazing, she was not phased with 27000 people and millions of viewers watching her every move. Takes some nerves of steel, to face Serena, in a Grand Slam. All credit to her and Serena was quick to acknowledge her opponent.

This week is going to be from one hospital Monday, to the private one on Tuesday for Dads MRI, then foot appt on Thursday (Dad has lost his foam toe separator) :? Like us all, we are used to hospital visits, knowing them all, pretty much inside out. :? :?

Duly noted on the wisteria cutting....................I have informed the chief gardener :)

Yep, our new car has been sussed and we will be the talk of the park. At least it will give someone else a break   :lol:

HI Mig, lovely to see you and you are more than welcome to all messages of support, prayers, thoughts and well wishes - so glad to know that you are in remission now and are out and about. Hope hubby is ok with his new hip, glad you didn't have to cancel again and then fall off the list and be discharged

Hi Joan and Sue - I hope the increase in the pain relief, is helping you t4591 (((())))

Not the boiler again............leaking this time. Has someone been to fix it now??? We don't want you being cold or having no hot water, come the colder months, or we will be down to see you........ t115006 t115006

Hi Kath, we will see you on the "other side of the update", hopefully the pc behaves and no wobblers are thrown - (((())))

Hi Barbara Glad you enjoyed your breakfast out, it has been a lovely day - apart from silly heat in Nero's

Those potato's sound more than good. I think they used reds, cooked or par boiled, then roasted, till golden, then add parmesan to taste and roast for another 10 15 minutes :)

We will all be in different places tomorrow, under the cloaks and out of the cloaks............we might meet ourselves coming back, like Toni did, prior to the wedding :o:lol::lol: I hope your appt goes well.
Vimto, yep, that will colour your wee, beetroot, some drugs etc. We need to know what is going on with Dads though, even thoug he has stopped bleeding.

Today (Sunday) was Skipton trip. Quite a few bis trips were in, you can always tell them, from the locals.................

I have to write everything into the phone calendar on Google, otherwise we would never know what we are doing.

So Mr B has agreed to see the Dr again, GOOD. Fingers crossed indeed. Will he let you go in with him this time :? I will ask Sleek and Mother to put a spell on him, of agreement :lol: t115006 t115006

Hi to all - a quiet evening, tennis is on, looks like Raffa is on his way to another Grand Slam victory

I hope everyone is as ok as can be.

Carol you will have had a busy time with the family get together. Was it held fairly close to your home?

Hi Toni, I hope you had a successful trip to the argy bargy furniture emporium :) Sleek said to Mother that you had gone to Mackerel in field  :lol: Even Mother didn't have a clue :? :?

Sleek was over at siesta time and we all nodded off :animal_busy: :animal_busy: I think there are plans for some mist gathering this morning, the nymphs are running a little low. The supplies from last Autumn have all gone now. Sleek will gather some today, Tosca is not sure if she wants to get up too early.................

President butter here Aidan! and of course fresh cream for our cake yesterday afternoon too ta v muchly :)

Good job we had breakfast at Argy Bargy's as Kath is incapacitated by a windows update

Busy day for you today - I know you feel guilty leaving Dad when you go off for a bit the two of you, BUT it is essential to recharge those batteries in order t be at your best for him :) it really is.

I couldn't have coped with Nero's either that hot m0150  Their coffee is so nice....I hope it's sorted for them soon :? Boothes too and Tesco? You did enough!!!

Arighi Bianchi was fab! We LOVED it!!! everyone must go it was amazing full of lovely furniture and not (quite) as expensive as I had feared too

Sleek is just back from mist collecting. It's raining here so there was loads apparently. Mother stayed behind so she filled the side car up with the stuff. The nymphs were overjoyed and gave her a fishy latte double shot of catteine and one to take away for Tosca. Duly dropped off on her way back home. Two mackerel wraps too

She will be over later to watch some TV and look after 'Mother' while you are out sorting Dad at urology. Tommy was veree gud yesterday Tosca told her Tommy has seeer-ee-us pot-enn-shul. Sleek is to nurture him.

At the moment she is drying off her fur bless her. :animal_busy:

Isn't Hildegard clever?! I wonder what she would do on the M6 when you have no choice but to be far closer than you want to

Yes if you are the site gossip someone else is having a rest

Cloak is rustling like normal on a hospital day - ready to be in two places at once....

Barbara I am very pleased to here your OH has agreed to go to the Drs again and maybe he will let you accompany him? :? Sorry he's in pain though :(

Are you sure we should enter 2020 BKV? Should we give the next village a chance?:lol::lol:

Tia and Mikey are having such a lovely time bless them - all too soon it will be back down to earth with a thud

Didn't Joan have a rash with the patches :? :?

Hi Joan - not the boiler!! Just as it starts to cool down too  typical. I do hope whoever comes today can fix it fingers crossed.

I am not doing too bad thank you our radiators will go into the new room next Monday (16th) and the decorator will do the ceilings and stain the skirting for us.

But what about you? Has the increase in meds helped at all? ((()))

Mig it's fabulous to see you back posting. Lovely I am really so very very happy about the remission. Thank goodness your husband's hip is done it's right not to delay if he was suffering bless him ((())) to both of you.

    Love

    Toni xx
