Hi to all - finally having a bit of sit down time, I am just about pottered out.............
I will try and have a catch up
Hi Toni - oh the girls loved Doris Day, they were singing whip crack away earlier Mother said she did have eyes for Rock Hudson many years ago, bless her. I did explain things  She said, I know   difficult to get one over on Mother Tosca.
Trying to catch a rainbow droplet is not as easy as it sounds. Those things happen by chance and a little bit of magic. Mothers whisker was in the right place at the right time and all the planets aligned t115006 t115006
Sleek enjoyed herself though and was very wet. I wondered why the heating had come on, that's fine, Mother needs some warmth in her creaking bones. It is chilli again tonight, and a full moon - (very good for gathering dew). Mother said she was well rapped upp as it woz cowld
Glad there were no escapes, with cat flap duly programmed - it will be quite a shock to them all when they arrive at Hogwarts. Sleek has been asked to accompany them, to their enrolment next month
Brutally honest, not kidding. I have applied extra anti wrinkle cream.............
We are keeping the pencilled in days, for now..................so far there is dads CT scan on Monday, two lots of flu jab appointments, podiatry..................Rheumy rang and said we can see Dad on Saturday week - we said no, sorry, we are stacked out with appointments - it is going to be more than enough for him, as well as us. His RA is well controlled at the moment, thank goodness.
President butter pats, yes, I am sure I saw those today, as you say, a little more work, but you can slice it on, instead of spreading it
The apple cupcakes did look RATHER good I must say - I had to make more, they went very quickly, didn't they :? :?
No, Dads circulation is not great - he also said he has more blood in his wee today, so we are keeping an eye, if it gets bad, he will need admission. He cannot stop the anticoag for long, as he is at risk of clots elsewhere - rock and a hard place............
I hope Tia and Michael are safely en route home, it is a long journey.................seems to drag, after a gorgeous time, you want to get back to your own space. Big hugs on arrival, then they will crash into bed and sleep for ages.
I am sure there were tears when Barbara's GD and her GF went back to London. I am sure they have had a lovely time together t4591 t4591 A wonderful surprise for Barbara and Mr B
Niamh is there so she will keep them busy, bless her t4591 t4591
So a table has been eyeballed, but the sofa's need to be from argy bargy - It is all going to look even more wonderful than it does already, the transformation is amazing.
Way to go Lucy, some people have major do's with swallowing pills - I can take umpteen at a time too. Next door has to do one at a time, with lots of coughing and heaving
The cloak can come with us on Monday, late morning, for Dads CT, that would be most welcome. I can bake over the week end and pack some supplies
Hi Kath, it was sad, when Doris Day passed over. She was a great age and had an amazing film career, adored by millions. She cared greatly for animals and was active right up to the end of this life. t4591 t4591
I wish the supermarkets would go to glass bottles or cartons, for the milks. Sainsb have said they are reducing their in store use of plastic by so many thousand tons a year. Just use paper bags, it isn't rocket science.  :? :?
Any news on where your LARGE lady spid-- is Kath, was she wandering about last night   :? :? I did google wandering spider, a common name for the banana spider, highly venomous   I stopped reading then...................
We must have sight of these neighbours, all eyes peeled and if needs be, we can call on Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple. Chicken wire, discarded...........mmmmmm, strange.......................
Any more singing or bottle recycling ?
It looks like we have some settled weather for a few days, not overly hot, just pleasant Autumn days. Some of the trees are starting to turn now.
Ok, time to fuss around a bit. As one does. Hi to Carol, Barbara, Mig, Crinkly et al.
Dad will be round for coffee and croissants this morning. Watch some golf. B wants to get into the garden and Hilde needs a wax too, we cannot let standards slip
Lots of love and sparkles to everyone t4591 t115006 t115006 Take care XXXX Aidan

Good morning everyone m0150 again!
Aidan I think I will need to stick my head in a bucket of anti wrinkle cream if Mother is to see me  :? Cat of course can hide behind their fur so no wrinkles visible.
Sleek was out early doors again Mother in the side car wrapped up and fast asleep :animal_busy: so loop the loops were ok today LOADS of mists gathered the nymphs were thrilled again and welcomed them in for a fishy latte - Mother awake for this part She just isn't daft is she? More TV this afternoon at Siesta time I think....
Yes Sleek has to take all 3 'kittens' in to Hogwarts next month for enrollment. I suspect they will be on their best behaviour on that auspicious day.
Poor Dad blimey another apt would be a bit much for him let's get the 'real worry' sorted out first shall we? So is he back on his blood thinners now? :? I thought a rock and a hard place.... :? :?
Yes I'm sure the journey home form holiday is designed to make you want to be home!!! Bless Mikey and Tia I've put fresh linen on their bed so they can sleep....and sleep.....
Your poor neighbour not being able to take pills - that must be awful
I forgot little Niamh (big girl now a junior of course!) will help occupy Barbara's mind after DG has gone back with her GF. t69044
Please do bake for us so we can enjoy something delightful while Dad has his CT on Monday; the cloak is ready aired for us all
Lovely Autumnal breakfast for us thank you very much. I noticed the leaves turning yesterday oddly enough myself! Dad will enjoy his croissants and golf while you two get Hilde and the garden in order.
Right onwards and upwards we have a shop to visit to order stuff after doing the cats and before picking up their Mummy and Daddy  What a day!
A quick woo-ooo! to Joan t4591
Love to everyone

Joan, getting worse, and now he feels depressed all the time. I hope you and Sue have a good weekend.
Aidan, the chicken wire has been moved neare the house. I think they were expecting the bin men to take it - silly billys. Lovely autumnal picture, thank you for the Autumn Hash with Sweet Potato's and Sweet Peppers. t4591
Toni, we haven't seen our unwanted visitor since, so I suspect the intrepid duo have already been and had a word.
Carol, Barbara and mig, I hope you are all getting plenty of rest. Huggs to you all. t120005

Emily has been busy baking, Alex was driving home when she noticed a house selling Victoria Plums, so she bought some and Emily made 3 jars of Plum jelly. Then Emily and Chester picked some apples from a tree that grows near their house. (Bertie followed them and sat in the tree watching them). She made Apple Butter with them. After, she made some Welsh rarebit muffins. So I thought you'd enjoy some.
Ingredients
225g self-raising flour
50g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ level tsp bicarbonate of soda
¼ tsp salt
½ level tsp mustard powder
100g strong cheese, half grated, half cubed
6 tbsp vegetable oil
150g Greek yogurt
125ml milk
1 egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Method
Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6.
Mix together the self-raising and plain flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt and mustard powder in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix the cheese, oil, yogurt, milk, egg and Worcestershire sauce.
Combine all the ingredients and divide between the muffin cases in the muffin tin.
Place in the oven for 20-25 mins until golden. Remove and cool slightly on a rack.
Eat while still warm for best flavour."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon to all m0150 m0150 all the way today, quite warm too.
It was chilly overnight and there were mists in the valley and on Pendle there was a slightest hint of a frost
Butterflies are all busy on the Cedum / Sedum, they love it, as it flowers after all the buddleia have finished t4591 t4591
Hi Toni - I would not like to even guess how much skin care has cost over the past 25 plus years - my toes would curl
Puskins have no wrinkles at all, well hidden, behind the lugs
The first light frost on top of Pendle was perfect for the Nymphs, Sleek was well away, gathering frosted dew and valley mists. Mother enjoyed a finny haddock latte  they do have strange tastes :? :?
There are a few SYTTD to catch up on, New York, Atlanta.........so shrieking will be par for the course at siesta time.
Mother said it would be a bit too much travelling for her, journeying to Hogwarts, with the new "students", but she will be watching, from her crystal ball. t115006 t115006
Lots of checks round last night, for spid--s. None seen, then bedtime, what was in the hall, staring at me a MA HOO SIVE spi---   BILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL - he picked it from the wall and sent it packing outside. You could have put a saddle on it and rode into town :? :? :? Shuddddddder. Took me a while to settle to sleep
Definitely get the worrying things out of the way, before more appointments. He had the letter about the CT scan for Monday pm, (it has already come through on the phone). He is getting fed up with hospital visits already, so lots of chivying along needed.
I hope Tia and Michael have arrived home safely, after the honeymoon. Fresh linen, perfect, nothing like your own bed
I will bake something yummy, but not too messy, for the cloak duties on Monday. We don't want too many crumbs in the X ray dept.
Have not managed to get outside yet, Dad came round for his coffee and watched some of the Soldheim Cup, from Gleneagles.
I keep thinking, must potter down the ramp then top up the bird bath (eight sparrows in at one time this morning   ) needless to say it is now empty   I will do, when I get over my lazy itis :? :?
You will have had a proper busy day..............steady away now, no additions to back ouches needed (((())))
Hi Joan and Sue - Dad said he had not had any more bleeding, which is good. Kind of having a wind down week end, ready for starting again on Monday............back on the roller coaster
Hope you are enjoying some fine weather too, it is a gorgeous day today, not too melting hot. Cooler nights are reminding the leaves to change
Thank you for the hugs, they are always welcome (((())))
Hi Kath, sorry to hear than Chris is feeling more pain and discomfort, it does lower ones mood (((()))) I had to go onto anti depressants a long time back now - continued pain is wearing. I am still on them. They are not miracle workers, but, they do help soften the edges, when your mood drops. Worth talking to the GP about. Or even mention to your lovely D Nurse when he comes next time.
Oh the bin men will not be taking chicken wire, not a chance. If the bin is the wrong way round, they can have a fit and leave it
My late mum used to struggle to wheel her garden waste bin down to the gate, so I asked the council to come and get it and return it to the back of the bungalow. Most times they did.
Glad you enjoyed the Autumn Hash, t'is that season of mists and mellow fruitfulness t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006
Your visitor (with 8 legs) has gone AWOL, wonder if she came here last night, goodness, I was frozen to the spot until B had scooped it away...........
Emily certainly has been a busy cook, with the jams and apple butter.
Ta mi duck for sharing the Welsh Rarebit Muffins. Gorgeous XX
Hi Barbara - I guessed there would be tissues needed when you GD and her GF went home yesterday. Glad they arrived home safe and sound.
Niamh was and is still there, to keep you more than adequately occupied, with you catching a moment to use your laptop
You are welcome to the goodies, of course, very low salt, which is better for all of us - he says, being a cheese and crisp fiend
We hope to keep two days to ourselves this coming week, every other day we have appointments. Retirement, taking it easy - errrrrm, who said that :? :?
Yes, we have been switched over to much faster broadband now, a couple of weeks back, about 37 mgb a second. When we first moved to the park, we were lucky to get 1mgb
Hilde is lovely, B adores driving her, she is quite a sporty lady, tighter turning and sharper handling. Just me and my app and the buttons to correlate with the car and we are sorted
We have never been to Cheshire Oaks, our Niece has, several times. One day, perhaps
The Tour of Britain, coming past, wow, thank you for the pic, it is all decorated and a lovely sculpture on the island t115006 t115006
Now, time to put those tootsies up, Mr B too, rest and chill out time - says me...........
Hi to Carol - hope you and yours are all ok - a busy week I can bet.
Hi to Mig and Mel and Kerrin, Christine, Elizabeth, DD, SW, Toady, Crinkly and all
Time I was pottering a bit more, dryer has finished. Will catch up later.........Till then, love and sparkles to everyone t4591 t115006 t115006
A very Autumnal Cake today - not bad, if I do say so myself

I have resisted cutting the cake. Whoever is in first thing this morning, can have the honour Toni, it might well be your good self
I am having a great time with the Autumn theme t4591
Enjoyed watching the ladies golf, last day of the Solheim Cup today, it is pretty close, Europe V the USA - all to play for. They had wet and wild weather at Gleneagles t111055 t111055
I trust Tia and Michael are safely home Toni and I guess they are resting, a lot - probably won't see much of Sunday, catching up with the time differences. I bet they had a great honeymoon t4591 t4591
Was your shopping trip fruitful?

XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Apple pancakes and cake for breakfast thanks Aidan! Beautiful icing I must say. I am now feeling pretty autumnal myself after all your pics
Finny Haddock latte yes Sleek had one too I think Tosca's refinement is definitely rubbing off on her! They LOVED the princess bride Sleek has located something similar on catazon
Out early doors again with Tosca (awake) with Tommy on her lap!! Tommy's Mummy and Daddy have bought a new car coming on Wednesday delivered to work  That's service isn't it?!!
Plenty of mists collected (not first light today with Tommy but tomorrow she will go alone for some more) and an invitation to the Nymphs' Autumn Jamboree later this month. Apparently Silver and family will be there and they are to bring the 3 renegades with them.
I am rather missing not having to rush around this morning to squeeze in feeding the twins
Shall I try to get us a pic?

Tia and Mikey were totally full of their honeymoon lots of stories to tell and fabulous memories made m0150 I thought they would be awake late, but Tia just snapchatted me
I hope you got over the 8 legged trauma :? Good job B can nip them outside so easily. Paul is the same we chose well!!!
Oh dear Dad needs chivvying about the appointments now.....tricky but he must go so good luck to you two ((())) We never mind coming along especially when you have bakes us some not too crumbling treats!!
We did buy some furniture!! Oh yes! and had some treats cherry biccies and cinnamon swirls made by the Neff lady t4591 Good timing eh? It's their 10 year anniversary at Leekes!
I hope you refilled the bird bath :?
Barbara they are sweet the girls facetiming as soon as they got back to London.
Those bikes look lovely! Just like they do in France when the tour de France is coming through - or even if it's not that nearby just Tour De France season!!
We bought a table, but I forgot to take a pic. Paul is popping on on Tuesday so I will ask him to! Then Argy Bargy for our sofas!
Kath will the scrap men take the chicken wire??? :?

I was rather proud of the icing on the cake Toni,
Glad you enjoyed it, after the apply pancakes. I am spreading the Autumn love I think t4591 t4591 I could not resist this one, sparkles as well
I had a feeling Sleek would be on Catazon, having seen the Haley Page dress at the NY boutique   t115006 t115006
Mother never mentioned she had a junior on her lap, whilst Sleek was gathering mist. Very important mists, after the full Harvest moon. She must be getting soft in her old age Mind, I don't think he dare move a muscle, in case he gets a "look". :? :?
A new car for Tommy's mum and dad, very nice too. Delivered to work and why not, if they want a sale, they will accommodate the customer.
A jamboree, that will be very festive and appropriate to the season. All three renegades are invited too   That's ok, Mother and Silver will keep them in control - even if magic spells are needed t115006
It is strange if you have a, dare I say, day off. :? You wonder why the whole day has not gone in an instant and feel that you should be here there and everywhere.
Love the picture t4591 of Oreo and Jessie. Butter would not melt, would it
I am glad Tia and Michael have had a wonderful honeymoon, with lots of adventures and amazing memories. Hopefully no effects of jet lag
I have recovered from the large 8 legged "event" the other night. As you say, we chose well, with B and Paul both able to pick up and put out, the large spid--s   Both very handy, creative, good with bugs and rather dapper too
Yes, much chivying along needed, but we can usually keep things rolling along. Dads CT scan is at 2.30pm tomorrow, I have not told him he needs to drink 2 litres of water when he gets there  :? :? least said, soon as mended.
I think some malt loaf will go down well, it is nice and moist and not crumbly, so no evidence of cloak duties, apart from some rustlings t115006
Glad you got some furniture and then had treats, from the nice NEFF Lady..............
Birdie bath was refilled, Robin was in there this morning, drenched he was
Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both ok and you are in less pain now Joan. It does take some juggling about to keep a lid on it and smiling is not always as easy as it sounds, but, we keep on going
You are very brave, not minding spid--s and pepper will play with them
Thank you for the hugs and well wishes for tomorrow. I am sure it will be ok.

Evening all
Well here I am again I am struggling at he moment I just cannot get motivated to do much at the moment. My moods are up and down like a b****y yo yo. Every thing seems too much bother. I am doing my usual things but with not much enthusiasm to be honest.
Mr T is being a real miserable individual (and that’s being polite) lately. I know he has a lot one his mind what with the church, and he also has a slightly enlarged prostrate which he is having test on. But his attitude towards me is getting more than I can bare sometimes. I get shouted at for the slightest things. Today we are not talking because he took the wrong thing out of the freezer in the afternoon when I asked him, if he had had his hearing aids in he would not have got Salmon mixed up with Gammon, . It would have been funny if he hadn’t decided to shout at me and walk out the house because I got annoyed . Men (present company excluded of course Aidan ) what are they like.
Of course this is not helping how I am feeling and of course this is affecting my pain levels.
If you have got this far reading this moan well done you.
I hope you have all had a good weekend today the weather here has been good. Hope yours has too.
I am awaiting to see if my claim for compensation for the accident on the bus on bank holiday Monday brings forth anything. I need to contact them again tomorrow to see if they have received the pictures of my bruising that I e-mailed to them.
Cannot think of anything more to add my brain is not playing nicely.

we missed the tour of Britain..we had onely just got back form shopping and couldnt be bothered moving..but the island does look nice ..they have just cut the wild meadow that was in the middle of it
glad you are still on for us time..and I will be under the cloak for dads appointments..
Kath we have a job for the binmen to take the bins..like Aidan said right way round not to full ..I am sorry to hear Chris is struggling bless him..sending many hugs for both of you...((()))
Joan noo ..its awful they are taking the ring and ride..you will have to ask the taxi firms to send wheelchair or scooter taxis..we have them here but not many..(())
Toni I am glad to hear that Tia and Mikey are back safe and sound and all those lovely memories..
So you have the table yes Paul must take a pic..I have never been to argie bargy...love it.. but you have your eyes on a settee..

Hello at last and my thanks for various good wishes and mentions.
Yes, the dissertations (mine and husband's) were submitted OK and we've been taking things a bit more slowly than usual after the mammoth efforts of completing the work.
I've kept dropping into the café for yummy blood-sugar- boosts and to read your news.
Congratulations to those who have been celebrating and Commiserations to those who are having a particularly tough time at present.
Take care of yourselves and have as good a week as possible.
Crinkly0 -
Hi to all - a wet evening here, t111055
Hi Carol - don't you worry, you can moan away with pleasure. Sounds like you are having a tough time at the moment. I think we all have times when our get up and go has already got up and gone :?
Carrying on with your usual weekly things though, minus the usual enthusiasm. t4591
I agree that pain drops your mood, that has a knock on effect on your pain levels, and tolerance and then getting cross and frustrated is all the more bothersome.
Can you juggle some of your pain meds about a little, ie increase the dose of one, or vary the times taken?
In the meantime I will send some sparkles that will go in Mr B's slippers - he won't know a thing Some extra reminders too, for him to pop in his hearing aids to avoid salmon and gammon confusions
He has a lot going on too. A slightly enlarged prostate is quite common in men over of more mature years. Wise to have things checked out though.
I am sure he will be fine and wave an olive branch, after the little altercation has calmed down.
Men, they are a strange breed - excepting myself of course
Huge hugs (((((()))))) t115006 t115006 for both, everyone needs a hug.
I hope that the bus company realise how dangerous it is to pull away quickly, before people have managed to sit down. That goes for those of us who cannot dive for a seat. :? You tell em Carol and I think you have a good case.
Hi Barbara - how is everyone, in your habitat bless, has Niamh been learning new things, hence the question
So you are thinking of cosy chilly nights, with the fire going - thought you might like this
All we need now, is the big log cabin, in the Rocky mountains
Glad you enjoyed all the goodies, I am getting to be quite a dab hand at icing cakes now
I don't deny that spid--s are fascinating, with all their eyes and hairy legs etc  :? their webs, with mist or frosts on, are stunning to look at. As long as they are out doors, that's fine.
That reminds me, time to go on a little check round the rooms, I know, it is sad, but true
Very good that there was a wild meadow in the middle of the traffic island. I think a lot of islands and verges are being left, to grow wild, just being cut once, in late autumn. Good for the wildlife t4591
Thank you in advance for being under the cloak later today.
It must be flu jab week, yours Tuesday, Dads Wed, ours Saturday - they are early this year - no bad thing, gives your body time to boost its immunity to the virus' they think will be lurking over winter.
So Mr B needs a hearing aid, now then Mr B, all you need is a referral from your GP, to audiology.......Hope the ouchies are not too bad ((((())))) t4591
Hi Cinkly, lovely to see you and some relaxation time must be well overdue.
I am sure that your dissertations will receive high marks and your hard work will have paid off. t4591
There are always plentiful treats to be had, enough for everyone and more besides
You enjoy the coming week too xx Keep us posted as to results, we will need to have a party t115006
Hi Toni, hope all are doing ok. Tia and Mikey, are they back at work today? Hope they can get up in time.......
Sleek was over at siesta time, not sure what they were watching, I must have dozed off. A lot of sweets were consumed
Mother has not mentioned any trips out this morning, she might be planning a lazy time, keeping her bones rested. :animal_busy: :animal_busy:
Ooo the decorator will be there today, exciting, soon be ready for the finishing touches and furnishing
I have popped all the malt loaves in the tin, for the cloak to pick up later today.
I doubt I will get in to leave any goodies for T time, I cannot imagine we will be home before 5pm :? :? Apologies in advance.
Big hi to everyone else, in and about t4591 t4591 Time I was pottering about again.

Morning everyone a nasty wet day here  I think your rain has come on down Aidan t111055
That picture of the fire, hot drink and book is lovely I could just sit there now....sigh The firefly lantern one too so autumnal
Tia and Mikey aren't back in work until Tuesday good thing I think. they were both still in a different zone yesterday!
Over 65s here for flu jabs so neglected again for a while for me
The breakfast pots are adorable so sweet and dare I say it healthy...although a dollop of Rhodda's finest won't go amiss imagine it melting into the porridge Can Mother and Sleek order 2 dozen autumnal cupcakes to take to the nymphs do please?
Yes Mother stayed awake with Tommy on her lap, but he behaved impeccably for her as you say 'one look'!!! Sleek's dress has arrived and fits beautifully.....she was doing a Miss Haversham though
The jamboree is soon I have forgotten the date  the kits are so exited (should have delayed telling them really) and asking their parents for new outfits ready. Mother will likely be ready with a spell if necessary but they need to learn to toe the line a bit with Hogwarts next month :?
Dad will do as he's told when he gets to his scan apt let them tell him about the water ??? You must try hard to make the most of 'days off' and not feel guilty sometimes to just rest t115006
Right see you later via the cloak malt loaf will be spot on!
Thank you Crinkly for your congratulations - I will post proper wedding pics when I can t4591
I am very glad your dissertations were submitted in good time - when will you hear how you did? It's been a while for me sorry...a good 30 years
Don't feel you need to read all our messages back every time or comment to us all individually just pop in for a cuppa when you can
Bless Niamh Barbara!! She's doing habitats at school
I looked at the settees I want online at Arighi Bianchi and they are on 14-16 weeks order  Might need to think again that's after Christmas
The table is lovely it's like marble, but it's not really and we will have our kitchen worktop (I never was happy it's damaged by the previous owners) to match. That will bring both areas together.
Good luck with your flu jabs on Tuesday - do you need the cloak?
Well Carol I have no doubt Mr T's mood is rubbing off on you and making you feel lethargic! It's not your fault and once he snaps out of it you should feel more your usual bubbly self ((()))
I wonder whether he is upset about his prostate and feeling anxious about it :? could be but no need to take it out on you! As for his hearing aids and getting salmon and gammon mixed up it really ought to be funny, but sounds like he's had a sense of humour bypass atm
Moan away I suspected you were struggling and very much hope your pain levels settle soon t115006
Joan the cats were so pleased to see Tia and Mikey they haven't left them alone for even a minute! t4591 It's raining here I hope it's ok with you?

Hello friends, sorry I didn't tur up yesterday. We had a busy day catching up with housework we had got behind on.
Joan and Sue, I hope you are enjoying the brief Indian Summer we are having. Although we had heavy rain overnight.
Toni, did Sleek tell you she brought Mother over for a quick visit yesterday? They bringed a few bush babies over to give us both a back rub. She told me about her Miss Haversham dress, and the Autumnal Cupcakes they had delivered to the Nymphs on their way over. Lots of screeching about the chicken wire. There is a scrap merchant drives around the estate, but he doesn't come onto the courts. Any metal junk has to be left on the car park where it can be seen from the road. But I don't know whether our neighbours know that. Chris heard the mister leave for work at 6am this morning. He wasn't singing.
Aidan, ooo another lovely autumn photograph. Lots of logs stored up for winter. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Our garden (back and front) look like a wildlife sanctuary. As Chris cannot keep it tidy any more, it's all overgrown. Oh, is this our gardener?
Thank you for the Breakfast Protein Baked Oats. Can we keep those cute little pots?
Crinkly1, how lovely to see you again. Hope you'll have a cuppa soup with me. There's several different flavours, so help yourself.
Barbara, is Niamh enjoying it at juniors? I bet she's top of her class.
Carol, Chris is always shouting at me too. I go to the loo too often, I "swan off upsairs" to use my nebuliser as and when I feel like it. It's a wonder I don't scream some times. Anyway, that's enough of me moaning. As you say, apart from our Aidan, MEN!
I'm glad Flo recovered from her 'bug' and is working with the team again.
Vegan Caribbean bean and rice soup
Filling and hearty.
Ingredients
1 tbsp sunflower oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 bay leaves
4 tsp paprika
3 cups (710ml) tomato juice
1 tbsp tomato puree
2 - 2 1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 small red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
3 cups (710ml) vegetable bouillon
1 (15-oz) can coconut milk
½ cup (100g) long-grain rice
1 (15-oz) can red kidney beans
sea salt and black pepper for the croutons
3 cups (150g) day-old bread cubes
2 tbsp olive oil
Method
Heat the oil in a large saucepan, then add the onion and cook over medium-high heat for 5–7 minutes until the onion is soft. Add the garlic, celery, carrots, peppers, bay leaves, and 2 teaspoons of paprika, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato juice, tomato paste and thyme leaves, then cook for 5 minutes. Add the bouillon, coconut milk, and rice. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add the kidney beans and cook for another 15 minutes. Remove the bay leaves and season to taste with salt and pepper before serving garnished with croutons.
To make the croutons, toss the cubes of stale bread with the olive oil, 2 teaspoons of paprika, and thyme. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet, and bake at 375°F for 4–5 minutes until golden brown. Try it with some lovely crusty bread or maye one of Emily's Welsh rarebit muffins."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all
What a difference in weather today lovely sunny warm weather yesterday. Today it’s cooler and cloudy. Oh well that’s the typical of our weather and I suppose it is September after all.
Barbara what are Mr T And Mr B like. one has the hearing aid and don’t wear it and the other won’t have one. :? As Aidan says men are a strange breed. And I know just how you feel it is very difficult having to repeat everything you say and not being sure if they have heard you or not.
Hi Crinkly Good to see you again, Well done to you and your husband finishing your dissertations. Now it’s time to take it a bit easier.
Aidan Think my get up and go has got up and gone and doesn’t want to return. yes i am keeping up with the usual things because if I didn’t I would feel even worse. As apart from this forum I don’t really have any friends locally I can talk to about how I feel. As far as the medications are concerned I think if this feeling carries on much longer I may go back to my doctor and ask her for antidepressants again. Which I took a while back when pain got to me and I could burst into tears at the slightest thing. As for mr t I know he is probably worried about prostrate problem, but of course he won’t admit it. so therefore you cannot say anything to him about it. He has a cystoscopy appointment booked for tomorrow so with the results of that we will know how they will treat it. As far as the bus is concerned I can only wait and see what happens.
Toni I look forward to seeing the wedding photos. Your so right about mr t’s moods they are definitely rubbing off on me and if course it’s the heightened pain levels causing the lack of motivation. I just wish he would snap out of it before he drives me to snapping point. If you see a cloud of blue smoke coming from the direction of London you will know I have snapped and gone completely cuckoo as the saying goes.
Yes he probably is worried about about the prostrate but I suppose we all tend to take it out on someone else. Love the sentiment of sense of humour bypass.
Joan hope you and Sue are ok and will be able to manage to get out despite no dial a ride bus. Mr T I not in any pain but I do think that he is a bit worried about the prostrate problem.
Thank you all for your comments on my moan yesterday I just love this group how we have our moan and someone will always say something to cheer us up as the saying goes a problem shared is a problem halved and it is so true.
Must go now have a good day to all t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006 to all.
Hi Kath just caught you there know the feeling very well think we definitely need that rolling pin and men indeed I don’t often scream or loose my cool but when I do even mr t is scared to say anything because I am no way very ladylike or angelic believe me. Yes Flo is much better now bug sorted and she is happy to be back sorting out the nasty spids.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Just a quick message to let everyone know Aidan is stuck at Blackburn hospital with B's Dad.
The scan went ok at Burnley, but because of the blood in wee they sent him there with a view to possible admission.
Luckily the are just doing bloods and obs and they may escape in the due course of (hospital) time which will hopefully be today
The other clientele present are rather scary - in fact Staff Nurse has locked them in   to keep Tom Dick and Harry out :? :?
Needless to say it's been a very long day and Aidan doesn't expect to get on the forum tonight. This is just so no-one worries.
Fingers crossed all goes well and they escape very soon ((())) t115006 t115006 t115006 t4591 t4591 t4591 to Aidan xxx0 -

Good morning fellow café dwellers
pancakes all round in the absence of Aidan's usual breakie!
Morning Barbara I thought Niamh had been doing habitats at school bless her! gosh Easter though - she thought your parents could come back :? Wouldn't that be lovely if it was true.
Keep chasing Mr B for audiology
I have been lucky and found the same sofas in Cousins in Dudley for arrival before Christmas!! so I am happy oh and a LOT cheaper too t4591
Carol we had rain but you're right it is September
I am keeping my eyes out for blue smoke over London, (at least you can joke about it but it must be so hard to live with), I hope Mr T snaps out of it soon for your sake ((())) t69044
We do take it out on those closest when we are worried shame he doesn't realise you could do the same every day if you wanted to given that you are in constant pain
I take it 'they' are keeping an eye on him?
Kath Sleek brought Mother over?! About 5pm was it? Bless her that's when we 'lose' Aidan and B to their siesta and I am busy getting dinner on. They do screech a bit, but it's only over-excitement! They told you all their news then
So the neighbour leaves early for work that's a good sign and should in theory mean he's not a total alcoholic shouldn't it?
I bet you two needed your back rubs after doing all that housework t69044
Loving the vegan rice soup and Kari will too for definite Thank you.
Joan we had lots of rain yesterday - the drizzly stuff that gets you proper wet! Any news on your boiler part?
Love to Aidan B and dad of course as well as mig and Crinkly.

Toni, thank you for the yummy pancakes. I love your French Maid costume, and you flip the pancakes so well. Well, you keep flipping and I'll keep scoffing.
Thank you for letting us know about dad, I hope all is well.
Joan, the nights certainly are drawing in. It makes me feel it's later than it really is.
Barbara. Wednesday at Christies, I'm sure the cloak knows all about it and is scheduled to pick us all up to be there on time.
((((Hugs)))) to Niamh, Carol and the family, Aidan Bill and dad, Kari, Crinkly1, mig, and anyone 've forgotten - oh Sue, mustn't forget our Sue.
Sweet & Savory Harvest Sweet Potato Hash
Ingredients
spice mixture:
1/2 tsp organic ground sage
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp dried rosemary
Pinch black pepper
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp allspice or ground cloves
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp onion powder
hash:
1 large sweet potato diced into 1/2” cubes
12 oz Brussels sprouts cut in halves or quarters depending on their size
1 1/2 Tbsp avocado oil for roasting Brussels sprouts and pecans or olive oil, plus a sprinkle of sea salt
2 Tbsp + 2 tsp coconut oil divided (for the sweet potatoes and apples)
2 medium apples I used fuji diced the same size as sweet potato
3/4 cup pecan halves
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 cup dried cranberries
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Combine the spice mixture ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
Toss brussels sprouts with 1 1/2 tbsp avocado or olive oil, a pinch of sea salt, and sprinkle with 1 tsp of the spice mixture. Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then add the pecans to the baking sheet and gently toss. Continue to roast for 5-7 minutes or until toasty.
Meanwhile, heat a large, seasoned cast iron pan (or any heavy skillet that won't stick) over medium heat and add 2 tbsp of the coconut oil.
Once the pan is heated, add the diced sweet potatoes and sprinkle evenly with the 1/2 tsp sea salt and stir/toss to coat the potatoes cooking fat and salt. Cover the pan, using any cover that is large enough, for about 2 minutes. Uncover and stir, lower the heat a bit if the potatoes are starting to brown too much. Recover and cook for another 2-4 minutes until the potatoes are soft.
Uncover the pan and continue to cook, stirring, until the potatoes are light brown all over. Add the diced apples plus the 2 tsp coconut oil and stir to combine. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for another 5 minutes or until the apples and potatoes are brown. Adjust the heat of your stovetop as necessary to avoid burning.
Once apples and potatoes are toasty, turn the heat off and immediately stir in the remaining spice mixture, cranberries and roasted brussels sprouts & pecans. Allow the hash to sit in the hot skillet for several minutes to let the flavors mix. Serve warm as a side dish or meatless meal. Enjoy!"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon to all - what a time................................
Thank you for posting for me Toni, to keep everyone in the loop and thank you everyone for being under the cloak with us - even when we were locked in the ambulatory surgical assessment rooms   with some rather, shall we say, unkempt individuals (all in one family). :? :? :?
When the Staff Nurse locked the door, about 10 at night, she said, we don't want all and sundry coming in
Anyway, after 12 hours, between two hospitals, they decided Dad could go home. Even though he was still passing blood at that point. But, in their wisdom...............
We were totally and utterly exhausted, no food for B and I for 12 hours, one hot drink. They did give Dad some butties and drinks.
He has to have more bloods done at the GP surgery and see the GP as well. Just to keep an eye that he is not anaemic. At the moment, all his bloods are ok and he has more urology appts booked already.
Got to bed about 3am.
Dad was ok this morning, not passing blood today. Feeling ok. Good, just the rest of us then
Forgive me if I don't write an essay, we have been busy catching up on lots of laundry, cleaning, drying, showers, shaves, eating normally, getting my pills back on track and upping the tramadol considerably.
I hope Mr B goes on ok wit his Cystoscopy - we know all about them , so many (((()))) at least they tell you anything they can see, or not see, as the case may be. Extra hugs, I know how you feel and yes, you can talk to us all, any time, we are all in it together.
Toni you will be busy with the decorator getting things finished off nicely. I hope you are all ok. Thank you again for taking the time to post for me. t4591 t4591 Thank Sleek for looking after Mother, who was such a good lady and waited patiently until we got home, then shouted at us VERY loudly.
I will have a proper catch up, when one is feeling a little more hooman -
As always, lots of love and sparkles to everyone t4591 t115006 t115006 Take lots of care XXXX Aidan
