Right, first of all a huge thanks to DD for the other thread for me, and to each and every one of you on there, much appreciated...

Right........

Rheumy nurse was lovely, said it's not Rheumatoid Arthritis but is Sero-Nagative Inflammatory Arthitis, mainly in the hands and wrists, could not understand why the extended scope practitioner had said there was inflammation in the knee joints, if there is any due to the sero-neg then it is more likely to be in the soft tissue and this wouldn't show on an xray.. Thinks both knees have mechanical problems and says I need surgical consult for both, (for the chondrocalsinosis, psuedo gout) mentioned new knee but I don't think that is her speciality... I also have golfers elbow  caused by the sero-neg, as is the exhaustion and the IBS...
Did bloods to double check RF but is quite sure it will be negative.
The Nerve Conduction Test I had for Carpal Tunnel indicated something was there, so possibly have that too.. :???:
Have written to GP asking them to prescribe Fentinol patches for the pain, to try and get it under control.. If I'm not tolerating that then Oxycodone(?)

So........ At least I have a definate diagnosis, and that they are sure that I do have an inflammatory disease, not the best of news but I suppose it is good to know what is going on, I know it can take many years to get to this point for some so I am grateful for that..
Also, if she is right and the knees are a mechanical problem then at least surgey could be an option..

I know that Rheumatoid & Sero-Neg are much of a muchness but I am going to tell myself that I have the better one to have of the two
Because Mr Positive is back with one Hell of a bang, lol......

Hope that you are well and managed some sleep last night..

I am blooming shattered!! Lol

    Hi There, Mr Positive,

Seems like a lot to take in. I don't understand all these sero whatnots but it sounds like the wheels are in motion which has to be good.

Have a good rest before you put the dancing shoes on.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks Cath, Joan... I am indeed resting, I am in a lot of pain, it wasn't too far to walk from the taxi by the entrance to the clinic but it was enough to do the damage

Oh I am well back to my old self, dunno what happened.... I think one of my loose screws must've lodged in the misery lobe or summat..

As you say, at least now I know what is going on, hopefully the stronger depo will hlp and so will the change in pain meds... They said that there is no point in starting any imu-supressants (sp) at the minute which i am more than happy with..

Oh, way too late Stickey, the shoes are on and have been evo-stuck

Well I guess it's good news all round - you know what's what and you know what can be done so let's hope the knees can be sorted, the new pain dullers help and that the sero-negative can be remediated in some way. That would all be good, yes?

Golfer's elbow. Well I never. You don't play golf. It's more likely Samsnug* Galaxy elbow. DD

    Hi Tony

No wonder you are shattered after all that! Good that you know what you are up against I guess, but sorry it is not better news for you there.
Hope you can catch up on some rest today.

    Hi Tony

Glad that the appointment went well for you and things have been explained for you. I hope that things continue to improve for you. Lets hope that the surgery will help you and sort the problems out for you.

Hope the meds start to help with the pain and you are able to cope with everything that is being thrown at you more

You will have to take the dancing easy now that your knees have mechanical problems - slow it down for a while. c020.gif

Glad to see the jokes are still as bad.

    Hi tony
Glad you are feeling more like yourself now, but ease on the dancing till the new meds take effect eh?

It's good that you have a diagnosis now and that the right meds will help.

Good luck when you get the appointment with the surgeon for your knees I hope he can sort them out for you.
You will have to take up golf then......to go with your elbow.....atleast its not as fast as tennis.

    take care

I am glad that you now know what has been going on with yourself, and hopefully the new pain meds will work wonders.
These appointments with docs etc do take its toll dont they, im dreading my next one, back on plane down to aberdeen again and then all day hanging about untill flight home, that will be about 7am - 8 pm.
You do sound alot more positive which is really good to read, you have made me smile and laugh out loud on more than one occasion in the past.
Our docs are chocca block too, have to wait a week for appt with my gp.
Good job were not in pain or suffering!

    Hi Tony

I am so glad to see you back so we know how you got on.

I am sorry about the diagnosis, but i am glad that you finally know what is going on. As you say the treatment for both sero neg and RA is very much of a muchness so you will now get some treatment to stop the disease in it's tracks?

A good old overhall you have had and you WILL be shattered or wished as Cris would say!!

Another darn good idea of hers these here 'pocket duties' eh?!!

    Rest up for now Tone

    Hi Tony

So glad you had a "productive" appointment and now have more of an idea of what's going on. Really hope the new pain meds help when you get them.

To all of you late-comers joining in, take your time why don't ya

    Thanks folks...

Been round at the neighbours, he even took me to go pick Janet up bless him...
Off back round for a while tonight, took him to the electrical store that is known for the expression 'hi-de-hi' to get him a new dvd player, will...
    A) Set it up for him if accessible
    or.....
    B) Sit in the chair and bark orders at him, with the occassional tetleys order to keep me going.

Option B sounds the better choice, haha...

Thanks once again, catch you later on..

    Hi Tony

I'm glad you have some answers at last, and now you can see the way forward. I hope that the new medication will reduce your pain, and that you will get the right help for your knees.

Is golfer's elbow the same as tennis elbow, but with a club instead of a racquet :?: Trust you to be different :!:

Good morning Lynn.. Our surgery are totally useless to be honest. When the pain clinic wanted me on the morphine tablets it took the surgery two and a half weeks to sort out my new script... This time at least the nurse gave me a physical copy of what they were sending as well so it may happen quicker. I could go to the walk in centre monday morning but that will depend on if I am well enough to sit around waiting... LOL

If not then I could try the telephone thing, cheers hun..

    Hi Tony,

So which option did you use for the music thing? I would have had to have done A cus B they wouldn't known what i meant

A diagnosis is better than none and your right they are treated in similar ways but what tablets have they given you for it? I know you said some where but I have the attention span of a squashed gnat and also the eyes of a bottom feeder

I hope you get a bit of a let up with it all and the knees well if they are mechanical maybe they will do something about them soon? Leaving another cuppa and a ((( ))) Cris xx
