    Hi WOnky

Sorry - I'm late coming to this thread..

Good idea that you took your husband with you. You must have been completely exhausted by the time you arrived home. A bit shocking that the nurses were all for sending you home immediately afterwards!

Keeping my fingers crossed that the infliximab works for you..

Morning wonky, I am glad to hear that all (eventually) went well and I hope you are not too wished today. I must be odd: I loved having the infusions (only had three, maybe four) but golly they were lovely, they gave the perfect excuse to sit around for a couple of hours, with my feet up, drinking tea and munching biscuits, nattering to folk or disappearing into my MP3 or a book for a while. Utter bliss.

Try the 'doing half' thing - you never know, it might just help. DD

HI Everyone - sorry I went quiet for a few days.

I was ok-ish on Thursday, well enough to get my MTX injection and do a few other bits and pieces, but after a really bad night friday was mostly spent in bed exhausted, or trying to rest at least.

At the moment it seems two hours of rest gives one hour of activity .... although each day the fatigue/exhaustion diminishes in strength, so perhaps it will only be a week to get over this infusion rather than the 2 weeks last time

SO ... I'm trying to pace myself, and also trying to remember not to do all that I feel I can ..... DD you are so right it does help but it isn't easy to achieve

Hope you are all keeping as well as you can, and thank you all again for your posts of encouragement.

    hugs

Humans are supposed to learn through experience - is that daft or what? Have we ever? Nah. I can understand the surge of 'wow, stuff's better!' that you get, and I can see why it is so tempting to do all that you feel you can but, as I have learned over the years of dealing with this dross, it is always best to leave them wanting more (to borrow that tired old showbusiness phrase). The trouble is the amount I feel I can do is dwindling at some rate!

I have no idea whether pacing yourself will help the better effects of the infusion to last longer: logic says it would but when the hell has logic ever applied to this malarkey? Take care. DD

Oh DD never have truer words been written!

Logic ... Pah!!! throw it in the bin for all the good it does with Arthur eh?

It's probably best you forgot to ask, wonky, it ain't going well what with one thing and another. Never mind, it will pass, all things do. You keep your focus on doing half of what you think you can - we want this inflixi to work and to work for as long as possible, yes? It seems to be helping you, and that is a good thing. DD

I hope today has been better for you. Nigh on impossible to pace ourselves isn’t it. Well I haven’t got the hang of it yet anyway.

These damn and blasted meds. Who'd have 'em? I am sorry to hear that the infusion might have triggered a flare - this beast of a disease is a hard one to subdue. It does seem like this to me - a045.gif - dancing and jeering at us. Monster.

Rest, wonky, and when you have done that rest some more, and then some more just to make sure. I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling so shift. DD
