Oh dear, Julie. I fear I may have led you into bad habits. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Legs
You do make me smile when I read your post, good on you for being so positive...not sure if I will be, I really do wish you well with it all....and have a drink on me tonight...a nice large one and have a good night....Love
Barbara0 -
Hi All - had a lovely time at the party and gladrags are now in the wash for next time.
Joan Yes I'm being done on the 8th .....last cup of tea with milk at midnight and into hossy at 7:00 a.m. Hope yours goes well on the 7th.
Sticky Maybe our Knee Revision Cttee should probably be called The Bad Habits Club .............now that's a committee I feel I would chair well
Elna Thanks I have been looking for your 'TKR' progress diary and have been unsuccessful ....could you let me have some key words you used so that I may search your posts please? I'd like to have a re-read before I'm admitted to remind me what to expect.
Dreamsdaisy Thanks.
Lynn ............or should I say pigeon. Put those knitting needles down as I don't need any more bedpans now, 50 is enough for any girl. Get your pencils sharpened and notebooks out.
Hileena They used to dish out the antiseptic wash here too willy-nilly but it looks as though that's changed now. Thanks for thinking of me.
Cris Thanks for getting the employers to cross their legs for me, it gives me a comical picture in my mind to take in with me. ......and maybe you could use some of the knitted bedpans as hats for the employers
Elizabeth I've been really busy as I have lots of different friends to see before I go in. I would never snuck off without telling you all as that would mean I'd miss all this lovely attention  I have 5 books on my eReader waiting to be read.
Tony Don't worry about lack of supporting duties, you've had troubles of your own. I shall certainly be spending your birthday doing something different
I I think I'll remember these ladies as I shared my Maltesers with them
Julie Thanks for the best wishes.
Jilly I reckon I could re-organise the NHS, never mind the hospital .............though many of us could on here because we know what the patients want and need
Tracey Thanks ...........you know there's not a lot of difference between being a good organiser and damn right bossy and I'm inclined to admit that I'm rather bossy ............or is that assertive?
Eileen Thanks, I know I'll be fine too I figure also that if I'm not then I'll just have to cope with whatever happens so there's no point worrying about it. Good to see you.
Marion We all learn things on the Forum it's one of the reasons it's so brill.
Chris Thanks. Did you know Sara Gruen has written another book called Ape House .....it's on my eReader waiting for me.
Barbara I did have a drink on you and I did have a good night. Thanks for your kind wishes and I hope you can be positive too when the time comes.Love, Legs x

I'm sure you could/can, Legs. As forum members will be aware, I personally have no bad habits whatsoever (Shut up, DD!) but I'm perfectly willing to learn a few. No time like the present, eh?If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Legs,
Just backing up your positivity with a bucket of top up in case you need it.
You make sure you have big pockets as well.. and I can lurk in the shadows while they do it and make sure they keep a good eye on you.
leaving a sheep encrusted slimed up and you don't want to know what else ((((( ))))) and a huge hope.
Love
Cris who is fighting this armchair so much but probably gong to fail.... xx0 -
Good Luck on the 8th Linda with the Legs,
who shall soon be known as Linda with the 3 knees.
Hope it goes well for you.
Be thinking of you
Kath xx
Re, Water for Elephants, I too read it on your recommendation and enjoyed it, I hope to catch the movie at some point.0 -
Hi Kath,
Hope your doing ok and nice to see you. Cris xx
Sorry Legs a bit of a hi-jack xx0 -
Hi Cris, (I have no objections to hi-jacking I do it myself sometimes.)
Might just use those buckets for bed pans if the hossy run short so give them a quick wash when I return them As well as having big pockets I'm taking my Sainsbury's carriers for anyone wanting to hitch a lift
I shall miss my cyber friends. Whoops ............no need for me to sing you a lullaby then
Hi Kath,
Good to see you. I rather thought I might become Legs 11 but Linda-with-3-knees works as well.........or what about Tri-Legs?
Glad you enjoyed Water for Elephants - I'm looking forward to Ape House now and just hope she didn't burn herself out on her first book. You know the film won't be as good as the book because them there film folks can't see inside our brains to know what the characters look likeLove, Legs x

Wishing you all the very best for your op Linda will keep everything crossed for you! Kind regards Josie xx0
-
I hope that everything goes well for you on 8th June. I will be taking up some room in those large pockets (carrier bags) and I will make sure I have the sarnies for everyone. I always come well prepared.
Look after yourself and dont do to much organising or you will find yourself a job on one of the wards!! lolJaki0 -
Thanks Josie you now realise you have to keep everything crossed till 9th June when it should be all over .....Bertygirl is 'crossing' with you.
Hi Jaki, my favourite sarnies are chicken and advocdo with a dash of mayo please ........see you on the 8th .and thanks.Love, Legs x

Hi Linda
Think everything has been said on here to help you, can't think of anything else. As to the pre op assessment mine only took 2 hours last month. Also I was using a commode after the operation in the recovery room. They tried to get me to use the bed pan but lying down, didn't work I haven't got the right equipment to do it that way, would work for men wouldn't it. Was stuck for 2 hours desperate for a wee until they listened to me at last & found a commode.
Good luck with the op, will be thinking of you.

I think the only time I have urinated lying down was when I was a baby. I cannot cope with bed pans, I like proper, sitting-up weeing - it's a great spur to get one out of bed! Still legs, if the cement has to set then the cement has to set. I hope you can do better with horizontal urination. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

What? No wonder my wages are so low - I have to make do with spam!!!
Speaking of wages......after consulting with the PDA (Pigeon Duties Association).....I'm duly informed that a packet of cheese crisps and a bottle of cheap pop is not the going rate. After much deliberation and head-scratching (that'll be the spam allergy), I have decided to re-negotiate. So.....chuck in a Mars Bar, Mrs, and the job's a good 'un
Lynn xx
One Mars bar on it's way and if you work very hard I may chuck in a bonus and send two :shock:Love, Legs x

Hi Gretta, Apparently I have to be in bed for two days because they're fitting a cup prosthesis ............and a lot of my pre-op was waiting for the young doctors to finish on the ward  Though the assessment in itself was very thorough, the best part being that we were given plenty of time to pose questions to the different members of the team. Thanks for the good wishes.Love, Legs x

Hi Dreamsdaisy, I reckon weeing lying down is a synch it's the other that creates the problem   .............still I even managed that last timeLove, Legs x

You know something? The tone of these forums has taken a nose dive recently. Bedpan v commode - should we run a poll, girls? (I presume we're talking solid bedpans not Collywobble's knitted ones.)If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Is that solid bedpans or bedpans for solids we're talking about here Sticky???? :shock:Love, Legs x

Linda i remember having to use a bedpan when my daughter was born in 84.I coudn't believe they wouldn't let me walk to the loo(they kept me in 10 days too)!. It was surprisingly easy and comfortable and do-able lying back.
When I had my THR I asked for a bag. That way no accidents....except when transferring me to another hospital they ran it over in my wheelchair!
